If you want to skip right to the new Flowmaster American Thunder install, go to 3:21
This 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon edition or JK is the new Autoedit daily driver and camping/adventure rig!
Come along for the first drive video and I'll tell you my basic plans for the Jeep. It's going to stay fairly simple and aimed more towards what is somewhat practical and fun. No 40" monster mud tires or anything like that going on here...I still need to commute to the office and make long freeway drives in this thing.
The first modification on the Jeep is to change the stock exhaust to the new all 409 Stainless Steel American Thunder Series Cat Back exhaust from Flowmaster Mufflers.
Watch the video for the before and after sound improvement!

So funny to watch this old video now after following your channel for so long. Your plans for keeping the Jeep “basic” hilarious in retrospect.

Says he's going to keep the build pretty "practical"... a few videos later tears off fenders, cuts body and shoves 37's on an unlifted jeep and goes off-roading haha! I can't blame you though I'm dealing with those same urges right now as I just bought my first Wrangler a few weeks ago. Sub'd.

I just did this install on a 17 Rubicon JKU. Just a heads up for anyone that is going to undertake this, a sawzall is your friend. It's almost like Chrysler doesn't want you to change out the sound and performance. The Flowmaster sounds great though.

I just put front and rear flares on my '08 JK a couple weeks ago, and also chose the American Thunder exhaust and am installing it over the this Labor Day weekend. Can't wait to hear the sound upgrade! Thanks for showing how easy the install is without a hoist- that's what I was worried about. AWESOME VIDEO BUDDY!

One of the best sounding Jeep exhausts I've heard. Others I've heard just sounded like a long drone, on acceleration.

I totally agree. Driving a manual makes you more aware. Awesome keep

LOL, I did the same thing I'm getting rid of my 2001 Lifted WJ well loaning to my GF in Chicago till she gets here. Love my WJ and I to used an Iron Rock Off Road kit but in 6 1/2 inch. So by accident I also got a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. And already looking forward to building it. And yes the JK has tons and tons more aftermarket support. Great vids keep em coming.

Great install video! I've approached my 2013 two-door manual Rubicon the same way. Part of the reason I was attracted to Jeep is because it still offers a manual. But, yeah, it was too quiet and I couldn't hear what the engine was doing. I am a sports car enthusiast but I also love off-road vehicles. Within a week of getting the Rubicon I installed an aFe 2.5 high-tuck system and an aFe Momentum intake (sorry Mangnaflow), and I also installed a Sprint Booster to change the throttle response. The Sprint Booster is an expensive little piece of plastic, but it radically improves the Jeep's driving dynamics. My Rubicon has better throttle response than my souped-up Sprint Booster-equipped MINI Cooper. I keep the Jeep in Red "race mode" all the time as it's way more sporty; I can actually blip the throttle when downshifting, which seems crazy for a Jeep. It takes a few drives to re-learn the gas pedal, but going back to stock feels like driving through molasses. Highly recommended as you develop your project. All the best.

This is a very well thought out and edited video, good choice of background music which does not drown your voice. I wish that all videos would be that good. All my vehicles have Corsa exhausts, but I like the sound of yours! 👍

Thank you for the informative video. I just yesterday purchased a 2016 rubicon and will defiantly be making the switch over after viewing this.

Thanks for the video! I just installed this same Flowmaster exhaust on my 2014 JKUR. It sounds amazing when you're accelerating, but its very quiet while cruising. Exactly what I was looking for!

Great video! Very clear, awesome camera and editing work! We were waiting for our JKU’s stock exhaust to die first, but might be bumping up this upgrade to the top of our list after seeing your vid!
