    Thank you very much! This helped me. One question. Can you apply a layer of “heat transfer vinyl” on top of “permanent vinyl”? In other words, Can the permanent vinyl be heated without melting?

    Hi I need to put logos on hi-vis vests (like police wear) so it’s not cotton material. What should I use ? I need to do a print and cut logo as it has so many colours on. Thanks

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Shelley, if the material can take a high heat without it melting or ruining it then it is ok to use heat transfer vinyl on it. Otherwise you would want to be extremely careful on what you use.

    If you have painted the canvas (with acrylic paint) prior to application, is it still OK to use heat transfer vinyl? Does the paint affect the heat source? (iron or press)

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, if you have painted it you can still use the Heat Transfer Vinyl. With a surface like that though you would just want to use a piece of multi use paper to protect the heat press or iron surface. expressionsvinyl.com/multi-use-paper-12x20-sheet/

    could you use heat vinyl on the back of a wire wreath?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there is enough surface area for the vinyl to adhere to, and the wreath can withstand enough heat and pressure to adhere, it may be possible.

    Hi! Great video. Very helpful.
    I would like to make mustaches stickers to put on disposable face masks for a photo shoot. Can I use either permanent or removable vinyl instead of HTV?
    Any suggestions on how to best apply it? I just want the kids to put them on (themselves) like a regular sticker.

    • @Expressionsvinyls

      Yes, you would be able to use either the permanent or the removable for this project.

    • @Expressionsvinyls

      You would be able to use the Easyweed for this project. You will want to add a cover sheet so that the heat protects the mesh.

    Can you use a heat gun to apply heat transfer vinyl onto a rubber Surface and how hot does the heat need to be

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't apply with a heat gun because in order for the HTV to adhere you need both heat and pressure. Here's a chart of all our vinyls and what they need to be pressed at expressionsvinyl.com/machine-settings/

    Hi Jessica, does heat transfer vinyl adhere well to shirts thst have ribbing? Or is it best to just use shirts that are smooth with no texture?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Cindy, Heat Transfer Vinyl will still adhere to shirts with ribbing but that may impact the image and not give you a smooth look. For best results it good to use a smoother surface. Hopefully that helps. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

    • @Expressionsvinyls

      A friend of mine had success with adhesive/651, but had to work hard to get it to stick. I think she used a tennis ball or a squeegee (or both), possibly also some heat (hair dryer or heat gun).

    Hi, what vinyl would I use on PVC Cosmetic Bags?

    • @Expressionsvinyls
      @Expressionsvinyls  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are using heat transfer vinyl you need to heat it up to at least 280 degrees. If the bag can withstand the heat without ruining it you could try it. Otherwise, you wouldn't want to use heat on it. The adhesive would work better for a project like this.
