They recruit mainly from Ireland (including the Republic as well as from both "communities" in the North) and from major cities in the rest of the UK. And even as far away as Fiji in some cases. So it's not necessary to be Irish but because of their history, affiliations and traditions a lot of the British recruits tend to have some family background / connection with Ireland.
@@justinneill5003 The republic of Ireland is another state. How can the UK let Irish citizens into the army? Here in Canada it's the law.. I can't join foreign army's.

Any reason the band was ordered to play quieter for that short period? It didn't look like any horses passed, which is usually what it is for.
I believe they passed the Guards Chapel
Due to service in guards chapel and trying to not disturb it too much

It depends which nationality. You can join the British army if you are a British, Irish or Commonwealth citizen.
