Almost sold my house on Miami Beach and moved to LA in 2010 but plans fell thru. Was so sad at the time since it seemed like a done deal. In hindsight...not getting what we think we want can be a blessing in disguise.

Imagine opening a restaurant , paying around 9k a month for the lease, 5 to 10 $20.00 an hr employees not to mention management pay, permits, insurance, electricity, Taxes , Cost of goods and security in some cases. You get maybe 25 customers a day, 30 or 40 on a good day if your food is good, prices are reasonable ( expenses are too high for reasonable prices). You will be out of business in a month. Who has money to piss away on a hopeless dream destine to fail ? Sad it will never improve. Spray paint vandalism will be next.

The problem is that Beverly Hills only consists of ultra rich people now who only shop at Hermes and Chanel. Back when there was diversity people used to shop at all these stores and the stores were able to afford their leases with that income. The city really failed in keeping their low and middle class residents.

Even the ultra rich aren't spending "like normal" or so many Beverly Hills restaurants, banks, medical offices, car dealers, and stores wouldn't be out of business. Europeans aren't visiting Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Beverly Hills, as they used to. No one is buying things in person like they used to. Online e-commerce has affected in person shopping greatly. Restaurants have been faced with higher costs and more anal regulations by Newsom and closed up shop. Way too many places have all been affected by the same policies. Many have left California, altogether.

I fled Cali in July 2020, I could see the writing on the wall with Newsom.
Handing over 13.3% in state income tax, I never had money to do anything.
In Sweden income tax is 30%. At least.

A good way to gauge the economy whether it's going well or not is to look at luxury stores in the fanciest places. We have a good hint of what's to come in the near future.
I moved from the valley to Florida back in fall 2020 and now in South Florida. So many businesses have moved here. It’s sad to see how LA and the state has changed.

@ 4:42 I was in LA doing some training in the Beverly Hills area, I was there at that corner doing some shopping then went down the street near Rodeo to Victoria's Secret to get my Girlfriend a gift before I left for home. The place was thriving in 2018. Hell, a buddy of mine went out and had tacos at 2am and people were out everywhere. It's a ghost town now. Every building in Beverly Hills was open for business that I passed by.
I stayed at the Luxe Hotel on Rodeo Dr around 2005. After seeing your video I looked them up and sure enough...gone.

For sure. A lot of people want to laugh at California, but this will be everywhere soon. Its happening in a lot of states like New York etc. Some people are too busy bashing Cal to see the writing on the wall. This is all by design. Newsome and company are not stupid... this is by design. They are preparing us for the New World Order.
Similar situation in San Francisco and San José.....so sad, lived in the SF Bay Area 80s-90s....a great time back then, really loved being there
The Los Angeles Times write an article about this about a year ago Many shops were closing, including the Beverly Hills’ historic Saks Fifth Avenue complex which is set for development into offices and apartments.
Wow, Saks is gone. No one wants to venture outside in CA. You don't want to leave your car exposed outside.
