So awesome to see you bringing these old 2 strokes back to life ! Where I live in Australia after 2019 you could no longer import new 2 strokes with the new emissions regulations . I did up a 2005 Yamaha F15 2 stroke short shaft it’s just the best motor ever ! Lightweight , powerful and great fuel consumption I really wish they still let us have them I’ll never sell this one
You're doing a great public service, sir. Most new Mercury motors at Cabelas run for $10k plus. The fact that you're breathing life into these old motors is not only good for the purposes of recycling, but you're giving guys that might not otherwise be able to afford a newer boat and motor, a chance get out on the lake. Well done!
You have to will power that shit into existence. Like start chanting the number and get a stadium wave going. You gotta make that ball land on the number you want!

Do a video on how you source replacement parts, rebuild kits for carbs etc. Outboards are confusing because there are SO many different kinds and its tough to find parts for older outboards, places that sell rebuild kits or replacement parts, sometimes its ebay but it can be tough to tell if what you are looking at is really what you need. I think that would be a good video idea, how to determine what replacement part or kit you need and the best sources for finding those if there is one or a couple of websites you use to source your parts.
Yet again another great video. Appreciate the time spent to teach the tricks of the trade and the little things to look for. The float test was good information as well as the piece by piece look at the carb. Keep'em coming.
Lmao Top quality content again, inherited a 15hp johnson/evinrude from my grandfather, and I thought the restoration would be simple like that but I had to deal with : Bad Fuel Pump, bad impeller, then it was overheating again, pulled the head, blown head gasket, cylinder head resurfacing, thermostat rusted closed! Then I put it all together and it overheated again…. Now I have pulled the whole powerhead and it needs new rubber grommets, where the copper water tube meets the motor, they were swollen and blocked with salt. Hopefully after this it will be functional again!
@@BoatBustersThanks a lot man the channel will explode if you keep making those, its awesome content with a fun twist and flipping things for profit always gets views on yt, and beginner-Diy young outboard guys just getting into the hobby like me can learn a lot from someone that uses simple tools to get the job done! 😀😀

I have no idea how this showed up on my tube. I think Im going to flip some boat motors. Im an automotive tech and these things seem pretty simple. Many small lakes and boats around me. Im gonna make a killing. One of those engine stands, fuel can setup, and water hookup. Seems like minimal overhead. Thanks for the content I didnt know i wanted. Are these things standard or metric?
Always happy to bring my passion to others! Tons of fun to work on, far less legal paperwork than cars, easy to transport… as far as SAE or metric, I’ve seen both. There’s a lot of complicated parent company / ownership of each other in the world of outboard history. Yamaha made mariner and Mercury for some time, those are all metric. There are other models that are SAE. But thank you again for watching!
@@BoatBusters Heck Yeah. I live in Detroit. We have every kind of boat you can think of. Buddy of mine had a 2500 hp powerboat. My dad has a few 15' 17' fishing boats.
