@@randytaylor220I am from Neil Young’s hometown. I now live in Alberta 🇨🇦 and worked for years in the oil patch (pipelines). I am right leaning (Conservative Party here in Canada). There is a huge oil industry out here. The oil sands are some of the largest in situ oil deposits in the world. Young shits on that every chance he gets, despite making his living jet setting around the world and putting out millions of oil based vinyl albums, cassettes and CD’s over the decades. He’s responsible for a larger carbon footprint than any of us could ever imagine. So massive hypocrite. And he’s just one of several. But I love his music. I am retired and in my 60s and have been collecting and listening to music from various artists for decades. Given that many of them are left leaning (same goes for Hollywood and movies - although that is another topic and getting much worse), I’d have to give up listening to a lot of the music I love if I boycotted strictly on politics. You have to separate it - or you go nuts.
Axl Rose Neil Young Bob Dylan Bruce Springsteen Roger Waters Too many pop singers to name... A few I enjoy because they stay in their range/adapt their music to fit their range(usually), but I understand if some don't like them: Mark Knopfler: Dire Straits/solo(sometimes on his solo works, he gets out of his range) Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies: Supertramp. Occasionally, Roger gets a bit too high-pitched, Rick is sometimes hard to understand Donald Fagan: Steely Dan. I've heard people say he's too nasal--YMMV
Yes, Dylan and Young. I tried within the last year to give those guys another chance, realizing how opinions can change over time. Nope. Their voices are unlistenable to me.
As I was listening to your countdown I was going to wait to the end & say what about Axel Rose, but you nailed it! Great minds think alike. Worse than nails on a chalkboard! Your boy from Mirthrandir
I came up as an artist in the early 2000s wanting to sing classic rock style vocals and (No Joke) I heard the words “You should sing more like Chris Martin” by industry people more times than I care to admit! 🤦🏼♂️ Needless to say I really grew to hate him and Coldplay. But even with that said, Limp Bizkit remains one of my most hated bands (alongside Creed). I would defend Stevie Nick solely based off of that live performance of Rhiannon on The Midnight Special in 1976. When I heard that, my opinion about her voice changed.
Interesting list, some I wouldn't have included personally but it's all subjective. My personal hot take is that I hate Frank Sinatra's voice. I get that it was what was "cool" then but the swagger/bravado and the crooning style just doesn't do it for me. And also, Billy Corgan, just so nasally, only song it works on IMO is Bullet With Butterfly Wings, and that's a song only he could get to work. And I don't actually know what Scott Stapp's voice sounds like off the top of my head but even if his singing isn't that bad, I'd still say it's hard to argue the other guys didn't find a better singer when they formed Alter Bridge.
Skeevy Nicks voice is just 75% cocaine at this point. She's even admitted to snorting during sessions because she thought it gave her a more raspy tone, ala-Rod Stewart. According to people around her in her heyday she would also give coke to her dog, an expensive show poodle, and laugh her ass off watching it run around and bang into walls. This can be read in a few different Mac biographies. What a class act! Decades of crappy singing and animal cruelty! Don't get the appeal.
Scot there is a famous quote from a character in an iconic British sitcom called “Peep Show” where one of the funniest characters says: “You can’t trust people. People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis”. He was not wrong 😂

Geddy Lee, Scott Stapp, Curt Cobain, Eddie Vedder, James Labrie "Dream Theater", Bruce Dickinson, Paul Stanley, Vince Neil, Axl Rose, Bon Scott, and Mark Slaughter. Now, if you like some or all of these singers, please don't get your feelings hurt. These are just singers that just happen to hit my ear wrong. Nails on a chalkboard. Have a nice day.
Great show Scot! I don't agree completely on Stevie Nicks but tryin' to see more objectively maybe I was found of her beauty and never minded for the vocals, but I love "Landslide" too!! See you!!!
I don't mind Stevie Nicks that much especially for the type of music she plays; however, it took me a whilentonget used to it, just like Geddy Lee's vocals, or the growl singing in death metal. If Vince Neil and Axl Rose are in the list, then, Stephen Pearcy of Ratt should be there too; similar grating, somewhat nasal, vocal style.
@@TheProgCorner I never got to see Ratt live so have no idea what SP sounds like in concert or if his voice sounds different in a live setting. Didn't mean to come across as criticizing his singing voice just that it takes a bit, for me at least, to get used to nasal voices; have the same issue with Klaus Meine from the Scorpions.

A fair point!!!!
I’m a republican. I like all music and usually separate art from the artist. Especially when they are extremely political. I hate KiD Rock. I hate Hootie, Creed, Aaron Lewis and Limp Bizkit. I completely agree with your list!
You have to keep ‘em separated!!! I’m a left-leaning moderate but Ted Nugent rules.
If I hadn't learned how to separate the art from the artist, I'd pretty much have to stop listening to music. LOL
@PeterCamberwick Exactly!!!!
@@TheProgCorner Yeah I tend to see both sides but can’t go extreme. Love or hate em Nugent still has the skills and his debut album in 75 is still a monster. No denying he is influential in that area.
You lost me on 2 of your picks but won me back with Axl Rose he is my number one pick as well.
That was the whole idea!!!
You nailed it with number one.
I think so!!!!
You are the best! Love you Scot! I agree with you!
👍👍👍
Axl Rose
Neil Young
Bob Dylan
Bruce Springsteen
Roger Waters
Too many pop singers to name...
A few I enjoy because they stay in their range/adapt their music to fit their range(usually), but I understand if some don't like them:
Mark Knopfler: Dire Straits/solo(sometimes on his solo works, he gets out of his range)
Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies: Supertramp. Occasionally, Roger gets a bit too high-pitched, Rick is sometimes hard to understand
Donald Fagan: Steely Dan. I've heard people say he's too nasal--YMMV
Springsteen. I think I might do a whole episode about how I feel about him…
The first four listed are on the money
@@TheProgCorner Don't mess it up. Huge fan here. Like your channel too. Cheers!
@@stephenraybrown Thank you!!!!
As long as no one mentions John Vislocky!!!!
@@TheProgCorner NEVER!!!!!
I actually like Creed. A lot of people do and hide it like a dirty secret. Which is understandable…
BillieEyE'lash..... and there's my list.Oh I might include any band with a COOKIE-MONSTER lead singer.
Fantastic!!!!!
My #1 most hated singer is the dude from Panic! At The Disco. Like nails on a chalkboard!!
👍👍👍
Ryan Ross, on the other hand...
Corgan is a good call.
What the hell do you think of The Great Richard Thompson?
Genius.
I think awesome
@@TheProgCorner Thanks!
Absolutely i somewhat agree have a great day Scot ❤😊
Thank you!!!
The singer with the whiney voice from Placebo and the annoying singer from Dexys Midnight Runners
I think I looked through the comments and am surprised to find that I seem to be the only person who doesn't like Joanna Newsom's voice.
I think she gets a pass because her lyrics are just so good...
I Agree With Your List 100 Percent! Add Bon Jovi to that List Also! Can I Get a Almighty Ronnie James Dio Please! 🤘🤘
Holy Diver!!!!!!
Neil Young, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, ...RETCH!!!
No Marley No Cry
The only one I disagree with U on, is “Stevie Nicks”!
Otherwise a Solid 9 other singers list!
👍👍👍
Couldn't agree more with Rose and Nicks in my top 3. I would also add both singers from ACDC.
A good call…
Bon Scott rules!
Totally agree with No1! I really hate Guns 'n' Roses. And Axl! Knocking on heaven's door by GnR is the worst cover in the history of Rock
Wow!
Hey. Hey.
Hey hey hey!!!
I'm not a fan of Steven Tyler from Aerosmith 😊
I can understand that. I was a HUGE fan until Night In The Ruts.
Scot there is a famous quote from a character in an iconic British sitcom called “Peep Show” where one of the funniest characters says: “You can’t trust people. People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis”. He was not wrong 😂
Excellent quote!!!
@ th-cam.com/video/6tVIabRBKmY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=G5ineu_qMpBt-fCH If you like British humour and you haven’t seen this series I wholeheartedly recommend it, a modern classic
Stevie Nicks is awesome , 🤩👍👏❤️🔥🎸🇺🇲💯 !!!
Support your girl.
I LOVE STEVIE!!!!
(I really do. It’s just her singing voice…)
I'll give you my list, it is NOT meant to be mean or stir up controversy.
Ha! Paul Stanley ALMOST made my list.
Any new country singer after 2000.
👍👍👍
Anyone who dismisses Rush because of Geddy’s vocals never heard the other 2 sing
Maroon 5 suck, I don’t care what his background is, they’re just boring and annoying
An abomination!!!!!
first time ever i can say that i wholeheartedly agree 100 percent with any kind of list. Well played 😀
Nice!!!!👍
Great show Scot! I don't agree completely on Stevie Nicks but tryin' to see more objectively maybe I was found of her beauty and never minded for the vocals, but I love "Landslide" too!! See you!!!
Antonio!!!!! 👍👍👍
You hear these singers and hit the off button instantly 😂
I do.
I’m very happy Lou Reed and John Cale didn’t make your list! I think they’re both awesome artists, even if acquired taste singers
I was just listening to Songs For Drella - one of my all time favorite albums. Weird timing.
Awesome! I was just listening to Fear-John Cale
@@TheProgCornersongs for Drella is awesome!
John Cale is one of my favourite singers. Going to see him in March.
@ An all time favorite.
My list:
Bono,
Steve Howe
Bob Dylan
Roger Waters
Vince Neil
Steve Howe!!!!!! An excellent choice.
I opened for Stephen Percy and his solo band. We became friends. So he can’t be on my list. I don’t sell out my friends!!!!
@TheProgCorner Respect your answer and loyalty, an admirable trait.
(Otherwise Pearcy would be a sitting duck…)
@@TheProgCorner I never got to see Ratt live so have no idea what SP sounds like in concert or if his voice sounds different in a live setting. Didn't mean to come across as criticizing his singing voice just that it takes a bit, for me at least, to get used to nasal voices; have the same issue with Klaus Meine from the Scorpions.
Pearcy is not a great vocalist live either. But he has stage presence!!!!
I agree, except for Stevie Nicks. Not really my kind of music, but she have a great voice.
Fred Durst can indeed get in the bin
What a joke!!!
Bruce Springsteen and Joe Cocker are voices I can't stand!
Yuck!!!!🤮
I was about to hit subscribe but then you mentioned Dolly Parton.
Oops!!!
+ Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain and James Hetfield.
Nah! I can't agree with number 3. I'm a big Stevie Nicks fan, and I've seen her live 3 times as a solo artist and twice with Fleetwood Mac. Love her and her voice. I have no problem with the others, though, especially Chris and Axle!
I knew Stevie would be the controversial pick here!!!!
She sounds like a sheep. 'Staaaaand baaaack.'
Wayyyyyyyyyyy to go, Scott! Haven't heard many of these artists, but you're almost spot on.
Shouldn't be on: Dolly Pardon, Stevie Nicks
Should be: Joe Elliott, Dave Evans
Joe Elliott for sure!!!!!
