Man your line ups at the landfill are CRAZY! If there's 2-3 people in front of me I'm surprised. I'm usually in and out in 5-10 mins total. And the "Ballasts" are the electronics that step up the voltage to fire the lamps. Those lamps are Metal Halides. And they can range in voltage from like 90v all the way up to 270v or even 400v depending on the size. And you were right the metal box generally attached to them is what houses the ballast. (30 years doing lighting for movies you had to learn a bit about everything)
So there are definitely lots of benefits operating in a big market, but there are downsides too. One being our wait times at the landfill. It’s a price we have to pay to play in a big city, but if your pricing is right, you include worst case scenarios.
