    Hii! I just wanted to thank you for all the effort you’ve put in to make life easier for us job searchers. I am currently looking for a job after finishing my BA, and your tips have helped me soo much in the recruiting processes. After watching almost every TH-cam and Tiktok video I feel much more prepared when having interviews, and I know what I should talk about now instead of just umming and rambling on like I did earlier. My dream is to work in HR, so it’s especially interesting to see your view on things, and learning so much while doing it. Thank you, Madeline!!

    i think in a video resume we should be in front of the camera and talk. we should show our energy, style, way of communication. when we just add a photo and then continue with some visual content, it is not so different than a PDF resume in my opinion.

    • @charliemongi7298
      @charliemongi7298 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Precisely. My previous employer requires us to do a video resume I made some customized template and all that shinanigan about video transition, basic text subtitles. Turns out the recruiter doesn't want it I have to ask her on her email I asked if graphics matters. She ultimately gave me an advice and learned a lot of stuff basically goes like this.
      -make sure you have good lighting
      -white background or any background as long as its not distracting
      -make sure there's no background noise
      -make the video short about 1 min if possible
      -just plain no fancy graphics
      Because at the end of the day this is just for recruiter the hiring managers doesn't give a crap about this things their more on technical questions.
      Update: I was hired this day. Turns out the video resume is just for them to check how you handle yourself (fluency, how you look, get general info from you).

    Love the videos, Madelain. Big fan of yours. Having a lot of issues with the app, though. It is wreaking havoc on my laptop, chewing up 70%-98% of CPU when I do anything like upload or move small images to the canvas. Nothing else open. Anybody else having issues like this? It is a really nice concept. Wish it worked for me.

    Should we be putting our face in the video resume? I know it’s frowned upon for paper resumes due to potential accusations of discrimination... would that apply here?

    • @blumedia-ioignitingimagina8641
      @blumedia-ioignitingimagina8641 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Miguel, absolutely you can or you can just use stock images, entirely up to you. If you do have some good photos of yourself then why not but most candidates just prefer stock with the text telling the story of their career for exactly the reason you mention.

    Great tips for sure, but where is the part about how to download the video resume itself and how to send it. Why? because the size of the video when its downloaded needs to be quick enough to open on the future employers end and be able to be sent but not in a gigantic file. I wish someone could please tell me how from INVIDEO what i need to click on to do all this. Now that you didnt give us this info, i have to spend a lot more time looking for the answer. UGgg!

    Hello Madeline, thank you for this ridiculously easy breakdown. As a fellow Millenial, I must say I have always hated the video aspect of things. I fear I will be discriminated against because of how I look/weigh.
    My biggest question for you, which you might have covered in the past (but I have not found) is, how exactly would I send this to a prospective company when we are surrounded by ATS systems, and frankly finding the right recruiter in LinkedIn for the job seems like an impossibility.
    I really want to use this tool. Can you help me figure out the other part of this equation?

    No it's a waste of time to go through all that. You could just do your own TH-cam channel pick any background that you want to put in it do your resume as long as you want and then when you contacted employer that's interested you just send them the link to look at it. You don't need all the fluff
