AMAZING! I love how you included _why_ Burr was angry: it shows he was just human. He went through so much, yet history hates him. In the beginning , whenever he handed off Theodosia to her husband, it kind of broke me for unknown reasons. Whenever he passed the graveyard , that was another thing for me. Although the true spotlight is showing Burr's envy, because Hamilton got everything while Burr was still waiting. I think Burr deserved a lot of respect. His gravestone is just a plaque, whilst Hamilton has a memorial. Please recognize Burr. He was just human.
The reason why Burr is hated in national history is because he’s seen as the post revolutionary Benedict Arnold; he was involved in two secession coups. One to break off the Louisiana territory and form its own country out of it, and the other was to have New England secede. The latter one was the IRL reason why Hamilton was challenged to a duel, as Hamilton called him out on the conspiracy. Also Hamilton most likely raised his pistol into the sky before Burr was about to shoot so the death of Hamilton was likely much less of an accident. Burr may be a human but the musical represents him in a much better light than IRL history. He’s left with just a plaque while Hamilton gets a memorial because Hamilton never was involved in any attempts to directly betray his country and actually contributed a lot to the nation, unlike Burr who’s only major change in his lifetime was causing the 12th amendment to be passed.
@@theandromedaeffect979 They never had enough evidence, that’s why it’s called the Burr conspiracy. Also Hamilton didn’t call out anyone, the reason the duel happened was because Burr thought Hamilton was telling everyone that Burr would lead the country to destruction
This animation perfectly captures Burr's emotions. It shows his envy, yes, but it also portrays his anger, both towards Hamilton and the universe. He is misunderstood and misunderstands how things work, how Hamilton's life is. He thinks that Hamilton is an entity, like Death, like Life, like Love. In his mind, those are destructive, if they aren't used with limitations. To him, HAMILTON is destructive. "He takes and he takes and he takes". Burr believes that Hamilton never gives, never faces any judgement, and he is right, at least for the first act. He gets a woman that Burr liked as a wife. He takes the position of right hand man of Washington, while Burr has been working on achieving it for weeks. He makes mistakes, sure, but they don't come back to bite him. Even in the 2nd Act, Hamilton continues his "uphill climb". He becomes Secretary of Treasury, and although he has to leave his wife and kid alone, Elisa does a great job as a mother and raises his son excellently. He cheats on her, and it's only until the 3rd Act that consequences arrive. He starts to disagree with Burr, and loses his first friend, his first idol in New York. Hamilton is the lawful evil character, he tries to gain everything to further himself. He never helps others, and if he does, it's to serve his own cause. Burr is a neutral good character. He doesn't participate that much, but through his emotions, his experiences and some of his actions, we understand he wants to do good. Burr might be viewed as the villain in this story, but he is only one misguided soul, angry at the universe
Oh my god. 1. The level of detail of both the characters and backgrounds is simply incredible. 2. That moment when Burr looks to the sky that so perfectly juxtaposes his usual looking forward or downwards on "When everyone who loves me has died". Whereas someone else could have gone the easy route and just show his family again, you instead take this opportunity to give us this beautiful moment. Thank you. 3. The blackout right after "Wait for it" is perfect. Lin has said himself that the best way to demonstrate Burr's waiting is to literally make the audience wait for the chorus. In the transition to animation, especially animatics where a single picture has to tell the story for seconds at a time, the lack of picture perfectly preserves the spirit of this song from its original medium. 4. Burr screaming "I am an original" at the cast and your execution of that moment was really flippin fantastic in my opinion. 5. Making us watch Alexander's achievments through Aaron's eyes, especially when Burr raises his glass on "raises the stakes" was clever in making us understand Burr's frustrations, and also adding to the song with your work. 6. Last thing, I know I've already mentioned it, but your background work is incredible. The small things like Burr noticing the people mourning, or how more people are gathered around Hamilton instead of Burr when the spotlights are on them. Just amazing. Oh my god. This was fucking incredible.
wait for it is my favorite song from Hamilton because it tells the tragic story of Burr, and Burr for me is one of the most complicated character in Hamilton
The end tugged my heart out of my chest, Hamilton turns away and others follow suit because 'He keeps winning anyway' and if he turns away others will follow, because they all believe in him more then Burr.
it's really incredible to look into the history of these people and realize just how young many of them were. Hamilton, Lafayette, and Burr were 18-20 at the start of the revolution. being 25 myself, it really makes me wonder what the fuck I'm doing with my life. Even though I have an idea of where I'm going, the road is so unclear that at times it's hard not to feel like I'm falling behind. luckily I have my crew to keep me focused and in the game.
This really touched me, it made me feel like Aaron Burr was the real victim. I mean, Hamilton had his hard times, but he had the better part of life later on, then started taking more and more, and his line came true; he became unsatisfied *all* the time. Aaron's position became harsher, even as he tried to support Lafayette, Hamilton, Mulligan and Laurens. (Ugh now I'm getting really sentimental)
"I am the one thing in life I can control" - This tells you *so* much about Burr. He's lost so much, felt so powerless and he will *never* let himself feel that way again.
That line was good, but to me the lines that most embody Burr, especially in contrast to Hamilton, are "My mother was a genius / My father commanded respect / When they died they left no instructions / just a legacy to protect" Unlike Hamilton, who came from nothing, has nothing to lose, and thus feels empowered to seize every opportunity that comes his way, Burr feels like he must always live life cautiously. He does have something to lose, he already has a "legacy to protect", so he will act with caution, waiting for absolute knowledge that he's making the right decision before he takes action. Except for the one time he acts impulsively...and thus securing him a legacy that he never wanted.
@@Christopher_TG That's a great insight. I guess that's also what leads Hamilton to the low point of the Reynolds Pamphlet. If he'd followed Burr's philosophy and talked less he may have had the opportunity to deal with the issue privately, within his own family.
You're all so kind!! ♥ if i could i would reply to all of your comments ;;w;; i read through all of them though and i appreciate every single one of them so thank you so much ♥♥♥
JMNP art Excuse me but I have a couple of question. How don't you have more subs? how long did it take for you to draw this? Doesn't drawing realisticly take a while? Did you use any references? How many frames did it take? Do you only draw realisticly or cartoons as well? How long have you been drawing? Also.... I subbed :3 OH AND AMAZING BACK GROUNDS
Ahh hi hi! mmm lemme see This took me about a month and a half to make (it was my midterm for a class a few months back)! it does take a while, but I've practiced enough to say that it definitely takes me way less time to do than before ^^ and yes I did! i always use a couple references every now and then. I believe this was roughly 120 individual frames? hahah i tend to draw mostly semi-realistic but i do draw stylized (??) every now and then. i've been drawing seriously since i was maybe 13 or 14 years old! Thank you so much btw! ;w; ♥
JMNP art This is so beautiful and it has so much effort put in it. It's amazing how talented you are honestly. I'm sure you're going to do amazing things! This is just so cool.
“My grandfather was a fire and brimstone preacher...” Not just any preacher! Burr’s maternal grandfather was Jonathan Edwards of “The First Great Awakening” fame who gave the infamous sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” We had to read that one in my high school American literature class.
it's been three years already but this animatic has never failed to give me goosebumps. for me, Burr is one of the underrated characters in the musical. his character screams "I'm not saying he's bad, but I understand."
I think the sad thing about this song is that once Burr decided to start taking like he sees Hamilton doing (going around and spreading the word to people to vote for him), he loses, Hamilton makes Jefferson president. Once Burr starts playing the game of life, that’s when everything started to go downhill for him. It’s sad to see this, Burr is my favorite one and then seeing Burr’s face when Jefferson doesn’t make him Vice President is really heartbreaking. Idk maybe I’m overthinking this lmao
Technically Burr did become vice president, it's more like because of this, they made it so that, in the future, the vice president is elected along with the president, rather than the position going to whoever had the second most votes. One could say that he was the Vice President in name only, and was not in a position of any significance.
alemfi Ahhh, I see. Still kind of sad that he was technically Vice President but had no power or anything. Imagine being Vice President but not having any power over anything.
Well in real life, Aaron Burr lived a very prestigious, elitist life right up until he decided to shoot Hamilton in an illegal duel. That’s when his reputation was shot and people stopped respecting him in the game of politics.
@@cringesicle7827 He actually took the position up in a different way and made the most of it. He set the precedent for some of the modern responsibilities of the Vice President as well as proceedings in congress. His mark on the US government was both positive and notable. He earned his spot on the roster of founding fathers, despite his ruinous duel with Hamilton
Love doesn’t discriminate between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes- Burr walked past rich people strolling by and a homeless guy stretching out against a wall in an alleyway. Two people so close, yet in such different situations. I don’t know if this was just for the background, or maybe it was intentional, keeping up with the lyrics, but if it is good job at incorporating it. I didn’t even notice it at first, and it’s a subtle detail, not as dramatic as like a gravestone or something.
Or perhaps the other meaning when the two rich people walk past Burr, they are heading towards the graveyard, and that’s the two people we see kneeling by the gravestone. Death doesn’t discriminate, it takes the rich and the poor. Another moral could be taken out of this, don’t judge someone by their looks. After all, Hamilton grew up to be rich, even though when he started out he had nothing.
I think Burr had so much potential, it's just that, unlike Hamilton, he didn't use it properly or he kept on waiting for 'the right time' to the point that it probably passed by with him never noticing
He couldn't use it, because he wasn't a lucky bastard like Hamilton. I understand him so much, because I live in similar mess... Nearly everything he done ended in misapprehension, underrating and libels.
burr lost more at an earlier age where the growth of his career would’ve been essential, hamilton lost at a time where his career would be expected to end
I’ll be honest, I laughed at the fact that Burr and all the characters in the musical have a modern haircut and everyone else in the background and Theodosia’s husband have like a normal 18th century haircut xD This is an amazing animatic, by the way. Well done, thy human
2:14 - 2:29 is really painful to watch, knowing that through out this Burr really despised Hamilton. He truly believed that Alexander had everything, and he had nothing. When in reality Hamilton had to Wait for it as well.
"Life doesnt discriminate, between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes, and we keep living anyway, we rise, we fall, we break, we make our mistakes.." I love this song so much... and the animatic was PERFECT
Watching these animatics and picking apart the scenes and lyrics really makes me relate to Burr and appreciate him even more. Here is a man who, in his own mind, has gone through hell. He sees the world as a cruel and uncontrollable place. The only way to get what he wants is through careful planning, patience, and self-control. Then along comes Hamilton, who has been through even worse hell than Burr, but has no sense of patience or self-control. He does the exact opposite of what Burr believes a rational man should do and somehow manages to steal everything Burr wants out from under him. And the worst part is that Hamilton doesn't even realize he's doing it, and that pisses Burr off more than anything. This animatic made me realize that more than even the original work did, and for that reason I consider it a masterpiece.
this is so detailed ???? im. this is super impressive. the people actually look like, realistic people? like the faces look like actual faces? and the lighting is so nice? this is. incredible. amazing job
this animation feels big. What I mean by that is, don't get me wrong most animatics have peoples souls poured into them. But you can see that the entire time. This actually feels real rather then just digital paper. It feels like you've created old New York. It's so detailed and grand.
Omg this just made me empathize with Burr so much. He's really distant and keeps his opinions to himself while alex risk everything which makes Burr really jealous. Everything Burr wanted or had Alex took by taking action and Burr couldn't. Burr couldn't woo a Schuyler but Alex did, Burr couldn't get the role as right hand man but Alex did. Alex pretty much took what Burr obviously was wanting with ease. I might be rambling on but your animatic just portrayed that so well to me I love it. The point of views were so well drawn and the whole animatic by itself is just AMAZING. Keep up the awesome work! 💕💕
Just watched Hamilton the first time (of many) the other day, and broke down sobbing through this song as Lin-Manuel's writing and Leslie Odom Jr's singing reopened and perfectly articulated a twenty year old hurt. Lost both of my best friends from school young. The first was a beautiful soul and genuine candidate for sainthood, who's fight with leukemia ended during Christmas break our senior year. The other, who's greatest 'sin' was who she chose to love, killed scant weeks after she turned nineteen by a drunk driver. I'm left wondering why. Why didn't I join them in 2004, when by rights I should have? Why do I continue to survive, and I'm not even worthy of their memory, some of the mistakes I've made. If there's a reason I haven't seen it yet. To the owner of this channel, a beautifully done animatic. Keep up the good work. To you reading this, if you're still here to this point, may God, by whatever name you assign him (or her), bless and keep you.
@@aster1x378 you misunderstand, I think. In twenty years I've found things to hold me here. No intentions of going out and actively looking for death. When it is finally my appointed time, however, my fear is less for myself than the impact it will have on those left behind. Wife and kids, and God forbid if my mother should outlive me. That someone someday would find my story worthy of telling, just so long as I don't turn into the villain in someone else's
@@jacebralor71 'Just stay alive, that would be enough' is a reference to one of the songs from Hamilton. And I wish you and your family many blessings. I am sorry for your losses.
Your anatomy and lighning/shadding skills are great!! But the emotion the characters display isn't as big as intended in the song. You've got the talent to do it, so I would absolutely love to see a little bit more of the sadness or expresions this characters all can provide!
Burr is so proper and this song show’s his pain and what he had to go through and a lot people probably still think he took his time for everything but he just didn’t want to make a mistake and end up like Hamilton. Ps I know this came out 2 years ago but I didn’t know how to put my thoughts into words.
same here!! I've heard of Hamilton before on Broadway but of course, I had no money, so I would wait and hope one day I can see it somewhere. And I did! on Disney + and let me say it was beautiful, I loved it so much and now can't get enough of it!
You know if Hamilton and Burr decided to listen to each other then Burr would have been able to achieve more greatness in history and Hamilton could have lived a longer life of love and completion
I have seen so many "Wait For It" animatics, but this is by far the best! Each frame must of taken hours to make, the amount of detail is outstanding, and the emotion shown is just plain perfect! Great job!
Aaron Burr is my favorite. He was never truly a bad guy, just misguided. It's so sad seeing life from his point of view. It's just depressing.... now I'm just sobbing like an idiot. I just.... fucking love Aaron Burr so friggin much!!!
This is one of the cleanest animatic's I've seen. :O Incredible! And what makes the first half of this so powerful is how quiet it is. It's not stuffed with abstract imagry, but scenes from "reality" like the part where he's passing the graveyard. PHENOMENAL.
I love your use of the faceless masses as the sort of Greek chorus. It really lends a gravitas to the lines about how life and death don’t discriminate but take and take and take.
"Love doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints." Do i even need to say this is true? I relate so mucg and maybe all of those who had a broken family.
I don't think people seem to realize that Burr is damaged. People don't seem to realize that Burr, a child who lost both his parents just like Alexander had a tough life. People don't seem to think back on that "When they died they left no instruction, just a legacy to protect." People don't seem to think that *history had its eyes on him* when he was simply a child. People don't seem to realize that Hamilton, someone who was simply an immigrant, someone who had no rank was doing better than him *ruined* him. People don't seem to realize that he lost everything. People don't seem to realize how horrible it is to watch someone with just pure talent overtake your hard work. He lost everything. He lost his parents. He lost Theodosia, the one love. He lost his child at sea. He watched as everyone went and lived their life and he was left in the dusk. People don't seem to realize that Burr was waiting. People don't seem to realize that Burr was calculating. People don't seem to realize that *this was Burr's breaking point.* People don't seem to realize that the only mistake he's made in this, the only goddamn mistake he's made in this whole musical is shooting Alexander. Alexander. The one man he was positive would shoot. Don't you dare call him a murderer. Don't you dare. Don't you dare not realize what he's been through. Don't you dare not think about this and just throw it in the back of your mind. He killed Hamilton. Hamilton died with Eliza's love and his story got told. Hamilton killed him. He killed *every reputation Burr had.* He ruined and devastated his hard work. To add salt to the wound, Hamilton was his friend. Hamilton was his rival, but his friend. The drinks. The laughs. Everything led up to that gunshot. Burr made a mistake. Hamilton made a choice.
Why are you acting like you know his entire life we understand u don't have to speak deep like your at a jazz club so ... burr is a murderer and this happened long time ago so Hamilton was murderer so just drop it
xavier lovett I'm acting based on basic knowledge you should've learnt in school, but judging by the way you act you probably haven't gotten there yet. I'm not speaking "Deep" I'm just speaking my mind, there's difference so please refrain yourself from talking about things you don't know. Yes, this happened a long time ago, but I am still passionate about it. If you don't like it then don't reply.
Laura Cowan I love this comment because of how deep and true it is. Poor Burr broke when Alexander voted for president. Hamilton always outshone what Burr wanted, and Hamilton ruined his reputation. And even though "Alexander may have been the first one to die, Burr was the one who payed for it.." Sad, isnt it? Thx because your comment and the video took me on a feels trip, and now my eyes are leaking
The "What is it like in his shoes?" hit me hard. I can feel the emotion in this song. I can also relate. I sometimes wish I could be someone else. I need to improve but unfortunately I think depression is holding me back. It's not definite but my consular says I have several signs of depression. Sorry for dumping out all of my feelings on these comments. Also the art style is AMAZING.
I know, right? Mostly the part of "he takes, and he takes, and he takes and he keeps winning anyway", where they show you The Revolutionary Set, George Washington and Eliza. I think this songs humanizes Burr so much, it makes you relate and truly understand how he felt about Hamilton constantly telling him that his lifestyle (Waiting for it), was wrong, and how it foreshadows that the dylemma/difference (Just you wait being Alexander's motif) between them may turn fatal. And it also shows all those times Hamilton "won" over him, especially where it implies he felt like Laurens, Laf and Herc reemplaced him for Alex. God it gives me goosebumps shdhshsj
I need to tell you this was one of the most beautiful animatics I have ever seen. The illustrations were top-notch and on point the visualization we're just very very strong and match the tone of the song Perfectly. You did a fantastic job and I would love to see this animated in some form as possible. If that's a reality than it's going to be an amazing piece of work. it's so well done I am very very impressed
I saw the thumbnail and I was amazed by how great the art on it is, it really caught my attention! Then I thought there's no way the quality that high would be in the entire animatic. I was so wrong!! This is so awesome, you are so skilled!!
First off, all the characters are really well drawn and look extremely good in the sense of realism. But something I did miss was more of a dynamic play with both characters and background; make the audience *feel* the emotions of Aaron Burr, create a compelling way of visualizing this incredible song!! Except for that, your animatic was really good!
My thoughts: animation was great. I like how Burr is alone walking with his thoughts, what I don’t like is how Burr keeps his cool for most of the time. This song is one of the few times we see Burr lose his cool, so make sure to show that. Overall great animation
I always forget how damn petty and jealous Burr was until I see these animatics. Honestly, it's just pathetic when you see somebody get angry at someone else because that person has the drive to just fight tooth and nail for the things they want, rather than sit around and wait for their life to improve without doing anything to further themselves. Like, I LOVE this animatic but you can see Burr get more and more upset the further he goes into the song, first at Hamilton being welcomed/liked by Lafayette, Hercules and John, then later getting promoted to aid de camp/lieutenant colonel by Washington, and then getting married to a woman he loves without having to hide their relationship. None of these things are bad, and Alexander didn't do anything /wrong/ in these moments, but Burr is still pissed off because, in his eyes, Alexander is being rewarded for being reckless, unrestrained, passionate and headstrong. Burr thinks he should be able to have these - friends and Washington's respect and a proper marriage to the woman he loves... but he doesn't take the initiative and so he gets no reward, and this only festers and turns into resentment for Alexander. And yes, I know that Burr went to Washington wanting to help, but if you look at his lines during "Right-Hand Man", it makes sense why he wasn't chosen. Burr tries to go for flattery, and inadvertently ends up insulting George's leadership skills ("I admire how you keep firing on the British from a distance", which could be seen as desperate and cowardly, and "how to fight instead of fleeing West" while also telling George he looks forward to seeing his strategy play out), meanwhile Hamilton is honest about what he wants from the beginning, tells Washington he doesn't particularly want to be a secretary, he wants to fight, he wants to earn his happy ending and get glory or die trying, but the moment Washington manages to convince him to take the job, he has a TON of ideas to offer; the services of his three friends, using the art of war (planting spies/turning people against the king) and readily agreeing to write Congress and get them the resources they need. Washington didn't want a "Yes man" who would stand by his side and praise him, he wanted the opposite; a guy who would tell him what he was doing wrong, how to improve and offer ideas on bettering their odds. Meanwhile, Burr didn't really offer any solutions up front, he was just there to kiss the General's ass. I'd also like to point out that Burr continuously labels Hamilton a bastard, immigrant, son of a whore, etc. and all sorts of other unflattering titles. Burr came from a very religious family, so I have to wonder whether or not it's not just meant to be a running joke but Mr. Miranda pointing out that for as nice as Burr seems at a glance, he has some ingrained bigotry and deep seeded anger in him (see, Washington On Your Side - "This /immigrant/ isn't someone we chose.") as if Alexander's illegitimate/foreigner status means he shouldn't have these opportunities to be happy and successful. It just rubs me the wrong way. I'm not saying Burr hates Alexander for these traits, just that it is quite telling how with every intro throughout the play he starts getting angrier and more insulting (starts out stating facts, Hamilton is a bastard after all, and Rachel Faucette WAS incorrectly labelled a whore for having children outside of marriage, the second time he calls him an obnoxious, loud mouth bother but still acts somewhat humorous about it, and by the near end of the play he's spitting the words like they're venom, clearly meant to insult rather than just inform). Burr just seems like he thinks that it's an insult to him personally that Hamilton, who grew up poor, underprivileged, without a father and raised by a "whore" from some forgotten island, is doing so much better in life than him, a proper gentleman who's parents were married and pious, religious, and from good blood. Hamilton's difficult childhood left him with a drive to not just succeed, but SURVIVE; Alexander is loud, fiercely intelligent, and extremely passionate and unapologetic about who he is. He's in the spotlight because of his demanding presence, and I think Burr resents him for having the guts to chase what he wants, since Hamilton has no family legacy and thus doesn't need to worry about ruining his reputation to follow his dream, whereas Burr hesitates in case he fucks up, he doesn't want to ruin the legacy his family left behind. It makes me sad because Burr and Hamilton are a lot alike; they both think of their legacy, were both deprived of their parents at a young age, both are not exactly the best socially (Alex is a rambling awkward mess at 19 and Burr doesn't seem to have any friends - even Jefferson and Madison seem to openly dislike and taunt him despite working together), yet they're so different they had almost no chance of ever really being close because of personality conflicts. Edit: Fixed spacing, elaborated with more detail on my thoughts and observations about the dynamic between the two characters.
@@damunaik4 Thank you! I sympathize with Burr, I really do, and while I don't think the musical version of him was a "villain", I do think he was unfairly judgmental of Alexander and had quite a bit of resentment for him built up throughout the performance, when Hamilton's only real crime was being opinionated, passionate and somewhat reckless/petty.

Wait Aaron liked Eliza? :^0

Oh my god.
This comment made my day aaaahh ♥ Thank you so much, I am absolutely ecstatic that you liked my animatic this much ♥
JMNP art Woah I wasn't expected to get noticed. Thank you!!!
Burr: He has nothing to lose!
hm...let me think about that
his shot
This puts laughing and crying on a whole new level for me😂😂
It’s scary how much more this emphasizes How Burr felt about Alex’s success but kept quiet, literally one of the best wait for it animatics I’ve seen
Every scene looks like it's a piece of art in a museum, that's not even an exaggeration. It's that good.
_chey_ 1:28 *Burr*
(I agree tho, everything is STUNNING!!)
wait for it is my favorite song from Hamilton because it tells the tragic story of Burr, and Burr for me is one of the most complicated character in Hamilton
Truee! This is one of the reasons why he's my favorite.
YOUR ART STYLE IS A NATIONAL TREASURE
That line was good, but to me the lines that most embody Burr, especially in contrast to Hamilton, are "My mother was a genius / My father commanded respect / When they died they left no instructions / just a legacy to protect"
Unlike Hamilton, who came from nothing, has nothing to lose, and thus feels empowered to seize every opportunity that comes his way, Burr feels like he must always live life cautiously.
Hamilton:*gets married*
Burr, five minutes later: "he has nothing to lose."
Ahh hi hi! mmm lemme see
This took me about a month and a half to make (it was my midterm for a class a few months back)! it does take a while, but I've practiced enough to say that it definitely takes me way less time to do than before ^^ and yes I did! i always use a couple references every now and then. I believe this was roughly 120 individual frames? hahah i tend to draw mostly semi-realistic but i do draw stylized (??) every now and then. i've been drawing seriously since i was maybe 13 or 14 years old!
Thank you so much btw! ;w; ♥
JMNP art This animatic is extremely well done! everything about it is great! the scenario, art style and backgrounds.

JMNP art This is so beautiful and it has so much effort put in it. It's amazing how talented you are honestly. I'm sure you're going to do amazing things! This is just so cool.
The hecking DETAILS holy HECK
If they make Hamilton into a movie and they don't use this storyboard as a reference, I will not be happy
I love when it shows all the things Hamilton has achieved and Burr is just standing behing watching...
“My grandfather was a fire and brimstone preacher...”
Not just any preacher! Burr’s maternal grandfather was Jonathan Edwards of “The First Great Awakening” fame who gave the infamous sermon “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God.” We had to read that one in my high school American literature class.
"Love doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints". This song is truly amazing.
it's been three years already but this animatic has never failed to give me goosebumps. for me, Burr is one of the underrated characters in the musical. his character screams "I'm not saying he's bad, but I understand."
How is he underrated? He has the best songs, narrated the whole thing, and, in a way, the musical is as much about him as it is Hamilton.
@Marissa Casteel probably cuz he killed hamilton? lmao that's a good reason imo
@Marissa Casteel even if you have reasons murder is still unjustifiable ://
FYI they knew each other too much. Burr thought of Hamilton like the soldier he was. And Hamilton thought of Burr as the calm dude he was.
Worth noting that the actor who played Burr (deservedly) won the Tony for best actor, not the guy who played Hamilton.
This is one of the animatics with the highest quality I’ve ever seen.
Even though it’s un-colored, one of the most beautiful animatics I’ve seen in a long time, the lines are clean and it looks very polished!
*Beautiful* Animatic
*Beautiful* Song

Burr: hamilton has nothing to loose
Hamiltion: looses his kid, looses his wife, looses laurens, looses Burrs friendship, looses trust.

burr lost more at an earlier age where the growth of his career would’ve been essential, hamilton lost at a time where his career would be expected to end
Hamilton lost them, cause of his actions. So it’s his fault
I’ll be honest, I laughed at the fact that Burr and all the characters in the musical have a modern haircut and everyone else in the background and Theodosia’s husband have like a normal 18th century haircut xD
This is an amazing animatic, by the way. Well done, thy human

2:14 - 2:29 is really painful to watch, knowing that through out this Burr really despised Hamilton. He truly believed that Alexander had everything, and he had nothing. When in reality Hamilton had to Wait for it as well.
I’m wheezing because this one is so realistic and all the others are more cartoony and it’s just expected of someone to have joke somewhere
The fall of burr was that he was too focused in hamilton he forgot about himself, great animation btw
The amount of detail...

"Life doesnt discriminate, between the sinners and the saints, it takes and it takes and it takes, and we keep living anyway, we rise, we fall, we break, we make our mistakes.."
I love this song so much... and the animatic was PERFECT
My exact thoughts.

this animation feels big. What I mean by that is, don't get me wrong most animatics have peoples souls poured into them. But you can see that the entire time. This actually feels real rather then just digital paper. It feels like you've created old New York. It's so detailed and grand.
I love how on the death/love doesn't discriminate parts there's people by a grave/ couples going past. : )
i really love how detailed this animatic is
Just watched Hamilton the first time (of many) the other day, and broke down sobbing through this song as Lin-Manuel's writing and Leslie Odom Jr's singing reopened and perfectly articulated a twenty year old hurt.
Just stay alive, that would be enough.

Great job!
My favorite line(s)
Love/Life/Death doesn’t discriminate form the sinner and saints

The level of detail is incredible! You even took the time to do the background of nearly every frame! This is a phenomenal animatic

I love your use of the faceless masses as the sort of Greek chorus. It really lends a gravitas to the lines about how life and death don’t discriminate but take and take and take.
"Love doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints."
Do i even need to say this is true? I relate so mucg and maybe all of those who had a broken family.
I don't think people seem to realize that Burr is damaged. People don't seem to realize that Burr, a child who lost both his parents just like Alexander had a tough life. People don't seem to think back on that "When they died they left no instruction, just a legacy to protect."
People don't seem to think that *history had its eyes on him* when he was simply a child.
People don't seem to realize that *this was Burr's breaking point.*
People don't seem to realize that the only mistake he's made in this, the only goddamn mistake he's made in this whole musical is shooting Alexander.
Deep...

God it gives me goosebumps shdhshsj

when Burr smiled at Theodorsia, my heart melted
First off, all the characters are really well drawn and look extremely good in the sense of realism. But something I did miss was more of a dynamic play with both characters and background; make the audience *feel* the emotions of Aaron Burr, create a compelling way of visualizing this incredible song!! Except for that, your animatic was really good!
OK so can we talk about how underrated this anumatic is?!

beauty
the art is sooooo gooodd
My thoughts: animation was great. I like how Burr is alone walking with his thoughts, what I don’t like is how Burr keeps his cool for most of the time. This song is one of the few times we see Burr lose his cool, so make sure to show that. Overall great animation
Gorgeous. The first animatic that has been more realistic and very detailed oriented. It was refreshing to watch
Well observed!
@@damunaik4 Thank you! I sympathize with Burr, I really do, and while I don't think the musical version of him was a "villain", I do think he was unfairly judgmental of Alexander and had quite a bit of resentment for him built up throughout the performance, when Hamilton's only real crime was being opinionated, passionate and somewhat reckless/petty.
omg idk who are u but i love u
@@princesschikita6833 /I/ don't even know who I am, lol. Thank you!
But that's just a theory...
A HAMILTON THEORY
I saw the detail put into the first frame and immediately liked
Lyrics:
Theodosia writes me a letter ev'ry day.
I'm keeping her bed warm while her husband is away.
He's on the British side in Georgia.
He's tryin' to keep the colonies in line.
But he can keep all of Georgia.
Theodosia, she's mine.
Love doesn't discriminate
Between the sinners
And the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep loving anyway.
We laugh and we cry and we break
And we make our mistakes.
And if there's a reason I'm by her side
When so many have tried
Then I'm willing to wait for it.
I'm willing to wait for it.
My grandfather
Was a fire and brimstone
preacher, Preacher, preacher, preacher
But there are things that the homilies and hymns
Won't teach ya. Teach ya, teach ya, teach ya
My mother was a genius, Genius
My father commanded respect. Respect, respect
When they died they left no instructions.
Just a legacy to protect.
Death doesn't discriminate
Between the sinners and the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes
And we keep living anyway.
We rise and we fall and we break
And we make our mistakes.
And if there's a reason I'm still alive
When everyone who loves me has died
I'm willing to wait for it.
I'm willing to wait for it.
Wait for it Wait for it
Wait for it Wait for it
I am the one thing in life I can control
Wait for it Wait for it
Wait for it Wait for it
I am inimitable I am an original
Wait for it Wait for it
Wait for it Wait for it
I'm not falling behind or running late
Wait for it Wait for it
Wait for it Wait for it
I'm not standing still
I am lying in wait Wait
Wait Wait
Hamilton faces an endless uphill climb Climb Climb Climb
He has something to prove he has nothing to lose
Lose Lose Lose Lose
Hamilton's pace is relentless
He wastes no time Time Time Time
What is it like in his shoes?
Hamilton doesn't hesitate.
He exhibits no restraint.
He takes and he takes and he takes
And he keeps winning anyway.
He changes the game.
He plays and he raises the stakes.
And if there's a reason
He seems to thrive when so few survive
Then Goddamnit I'm willing to wait for it.
I'm willing to wait for it...
I'm willing to wait for it...
Life doesn't discriminate
Between the sinners and the saints
It takes and it takes and it takes.
And we keep living anyway
We rise and we fall and we break
We fall and we make our mistakes.
And if there's a reason I'm still alive
When so many have died
Then I'm willin' to- then I'm willin' to-
Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it...
Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it...
Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait for it...
Wait for it... Wait for it... Wait...
