One thing I always appreciate about this song is that Eliza attacks not Alex, but his writing. The one thing throughout his life Alex could rely on was his writing. That's his source of pride. His greatest tool. Deadliest weapon. He destroyed a Presidency with his words. So she attacks it. Senseless. Paranoid. Obsessive. That's where it'd hurt. She both figuratively and literally burns and tears his writing to pieces. Rather than hit him or yell she tears apart what makes Alexander himself. Wonderful storytelling and a wonderful animatic!
Eliza stood strong. She outlived the WHOLE Hamilton squad, she dealt with Peggy and Angelica dieing, Hamilton letting Philip getting killed, hamiltons death, dealt with miscarriages. But she stood up for herself. Eliza basically outlived the WHOLE Hamilsquad. Praise Eliza

I love this animatic because most burn animatics picture Eliza as ‘crazy’ if you will, and make her to be very tantalizing as she burns letters in front of Hamilton, smiles, etc.. But this animatic is so beautifully pictured because you actually make Eliza appear to be filled with emotion, and to be truly sad, while yet still maintaining her strong posture.

Tbh the crazy part is what makes her relatable. If you always keep going on telling yourself things will get better eventually,when you see all that's happening and ignoring it for the hopefully better future like Eliza did (I mean..she saw how he charmed women,she saw how he looked at Angelica) and then you get your worst thoughts presented to you BY THE ONE YOU LOVED but not even personally but through a public letter you casually read...I mean HOLY..who wouldn't get a little insane at that? I always just thought "you should've gotten over it" and now that I understand, I feel like shit. This song...and this animatic really helped me understand the fucking pain of this. Just the complete and utter heartbreak of being cheated on my someone who you were so helplessly in love with. With my family member, their spouse actually had an affair with a close friend of theirs which only made it worse. And I feel bad for never understanding that

Eliza locks herself in her room and sets the room on fire while burning the letters, while Alexander sees the fire, and you can see him running to the room. He tries desperately to open the door as Eliza stands there crying while singing, and the letters are floating around her, once Alexander breaks down the door, he sees Eliza crying just in time to say "I hope that you burn" then collapse. Hamilton picks her up and runs away from the fire

I really love how she emphasized the words "You" at 2:11 ...it shows how Alexander was only thinking about himself, and not his family. He was obsessed about how the rest of the world perceived him, how he'd be known for the rest of time, that he forgot the people whose opinions mattered most...his own family.

Ok I love how the song sort of flips the emotional emphasis of “when you were mine” from being Eliza being lucky to have him be hers to by the end of the song it being framed as Alexander having had, part tense, the absolute privilege of being hers.

Two of my best friends are obsessed with Hamilton, so I asked one of them if there was a song they thought I'd like, and they said "Burn". Now I'm here, and oh my goodness, the feels though... Basically me and my mum in a nutshell
Beautiful, simply beautiful. I have an idea to make this more tragic. Eliza locks herself in her room and sets the room on fire while burning the letters, while Alexander sees the fire, and you can see him running to the room. He tries desperately to open the door as Eliza stands there crying while singing, and the letters are floating around her, once Alexander breaks down the door, he sees Eliza crying just in time to say "I hope that you burn" then collapse. Hamilton picks her up and runs away from the fire

I really love how she emphasized the words "You" at 2:11 ...it shows how Alexander was only thinking about himself, and not his family. He was obsessed about how the rest of the world perceived him, how he'd be known for the rest of time, that he forgot the people whose opinions mattered most...his own family.

I'm waiting for a burn animatic that's instead of Eliza being upset or angry, she's very sadistic as she burns the letters in front of Hamilton and smiles as she burns the last letter that was written when she thought he was hers. (I can't tell if you did this though since I'm commenting before the video ends but eh, I'd try to make the animatic myself but I draw mainly traditional since I don't have any sorta pen that I'm comfortable drawing digitally with)

Burn is so different then First Burn but they both have the same meaning and they both have a sad feeling and they’re both about how Hamilton was being a jerk but they both have a deep feeling that everyone needs to acknowledge.

What made me love this is song is when we had a lip sync battle and a girl did this song and it was just amazing! Like seriously she put all her emotions into that song and it was just awesome.
