Honestly what were the braves thinking going up against the warrior of light that has felled the primals multiple times, 'killed' the black wolf, slaughtered hundreds of garleans. Did they think we would just roll over the moment they betrayed us that it would go well for them?
My character was, at the time, primarily a Warrior and Bard. The fact that the game didn't give me the option to immediately start A) slicing them all clean in half with a battleaxe or B) riddling each and every one of them with arrows until their arrow/skin ratio was 10/1 was really annoying. Like, I could decimate every last one of them without even breaking a sweat, so why can't I?! 🤬
@@justinlee790 as far as I recall, there's never a point where you get completely disarmed. You can go into your character settings and turn your weapon off so it doesn't show up on your back until you actually unsheath it. A setting I rarely use and don't recall using during this cutscene. So my axe was literally on my back for the entire cutscene and I never get to actually ready up and slice some people in half like I realistically should
@@KaneLowwind I never hide my weapon, but I distinctly remember that during the cutscenes in Ul'dah, I didn't have my weapon on me. Considering we were meeting with the Sultana, we may have allowed ourselves to be disarmed, only to get caught unawares when we had swords pointed at our backs. As for how we get our exact weapon back later, it'd just be a gameplay contrivance. In any case, not being armed would make the whole thing more logical, since if the other Scions were able to put down scores of Brass Blades and Crystal Braves, surely the WoL, strongest of the bunch by a longshot, could solo an army.

Jeremy Harmon Agreed! This mission shits all over any of the single player duties from 2.0. I loved having party members that mattered, rather than random soldiers that we usually got thrown with.
To me this music really feels like it represents the development the Scions (and to a greater exent Alphinaud) have gone through along the way. As the video title says, this track has a very heroic ring to it, but it doesn't have any hint of righteousness or glory to it. It isn't pretentious at all. The scions aren't fighting for lofty ideals anymore, they are fighting for their friends and what they believe is right
This song is first heard when after Alphinaud and Tataru were arrested, Haurchefaunt and Aymeric explain the trial by combat... I'm a big fan of Silver Tears and while this song isn't a remix of that, the similar drum beats and feels makes me wanna get the song into the orchestrion.
I really love how the devs has you revisiting a dungeon under a new gimmick with NPCs fighting by your side. It just screams awesome and I was quite happy they did it again for 3.1
+Dragonsamurai Did you notice that Hauchefond's brother ( sorry i dont rememebr the name ) it follows you, he goes where you go. Its the first time I see an Npc doing that, before that you had to follow them always. I loved it.
Love the timed rescue type missions they added for the expansion. Broke up the monotony of normal quests and dungeons. I hope they continue to add more.
When the music dropped.. i was like let's fuckin do this.. he's the homie we gotta save him! (feeling chills) ..I'll take the lead. This really felt like a heroic rescue mission & a separate game in itself. This was so fun.
Basically me during this mission: Crystal Brave: "Stop them!" Me: "Give me back Raubahn before I rip out your spine, beat you with it, put it back in your body, heal you and do it over again" Crystal Brave: "...meep"
I mean, that's basically just Tuesday for Gunbreaker. It's great on capture quests. "ABDOMEN TEAR" "JUGULAR RIP" "EYE GOUGE" "Yeah I guess he's technically still alive, good job WoL"

Meanwhile, I just tried out DRK because I heard the story was really good and full of extra feels. I wasn't expecting to actually like tanking very much, but DRK is definitely my main tanking class. -Also yes, I cried a lot.-
during the final stormblood MSQ dungeon, when I saw the random Temple Knights shouting "ISHGARD! ISHGARD!" in battle, i instantly felt like listening to this song.

I have a lot of trouble with this mission because I'm a level 52 white mage and I can't get past the part where you're supposed to get the key and beat the 3 Crystal Braves... I try to take out the conjurer first but I can't beat her, she heals too quick. Any tips?
+Frame by Frame Ok so I don't play WHM a huge deal so there may be other things and there's a good chance you're already doing some of this. First thing's first, make sure you got a good weapon, iL120+, and if it's a crafted one make sure it's High Quality. Secondly, Cleric stance. Regen yourself, maybe Medica II out of it then switch into it and go ham. Make sure you got your Aeros ticking away before you spam Stone II on your target, I got 2 thoughts on how you can deal with the healer. Firstly, Repose. Put them to sleep and then try and bring down the others whilst she is. Secondly, if diminishing returns hits on repose, it doesn't even work or you're done with the others, try using Fluid Aura to interrupt her heals. Dunno how much of it you're doing, you may already be doing all of it in which case this isn't particularly helpful. Other than that just keep at it, the story instances can be a bit of a pain for Healers.
Am I the only one who feel some kind of a "pacific rim" vibe with this music ? The way it's composed, the rythme of the melody, the low tuned strings that presses in the chorus. It really feels like we could swap this music to the first pacific rim and wouldn't be surprised
+Masta200 Most likely Nobuo Uematsu He did virtually all of the pieces for the game and most of the pieces for the other older Final Fantasies. :) EDIT Masayoshi Soken as per wikipedia, he did the score for the original XIV but was taken over by Uematsu and two other composers post ARR.

@@KaneLowwind IIRC, weren't you unarmed at the time? I remember not seeing the WoL with his weapon during the betrayal cutscenes.

I really loved the feel of this mission. It made the NPC party members feel like they're part of your team. Hell, Yugiri even Goaded me!

But this has never done fore. You were always following someone, they guided you. This is the first time that is YOU who has to guide them.

Nobuo did 1.0 series and masayoshi soken did a realm reborn on. Nobou just does main themes for FFXIV now
