It's a tad disappointing I suppose, but still playable with bots that do provide quite a challenge for those that do need it.
This has so many memorable and interesting segments for combat across the various fantasy settings. There's a lot to engage with here, and lots of conflict to be had. It brings tons of strategy, across a wide range of maps and setups while teams work to take objectives along the way. Hands down THE most balanced and FUN game I’ve played to date. In its prime, it was such a great time.
I hope they add it to Game Pass or make it Games with Gold someday...
It had bugs and definitely took some skill but there were some magic/tech combos that were super overpowered and never got nerfed. I remember hating on players who played as humans and used smartlink (see thru walls) + (that tech that gave u stronger aim assist and made your reticle smaller) + teleport. That combo was not balanced at all and took no skill whatsoever. You could only counter that with smoke but using smoke made your essence regen slower and put u at a disadvantage or you could join the fuckery and use the same combo but it wasn’t fun at all. Lol it mustve bothered me a lot because I remember this stuff clearly and it’s been something like 13 years when i was a kid
@@Buhz93 I know exactly what you mean. I played this game so freaking much. Even more than Halo 2. I ran elf and ran smoke about half the time. I always played support so I got rez and tree first. Best feeling was picking the troll and getting rez first round. People loved me.

This game is probably the best and most unique game I’ve ever played. Sad to see the series never returned to this games’ FPS style. They fumbled a good series. This is literal gold.
It never returned with a sequel but people still play to this day with an active discord community
BRING THIS BACK. You aren’t alone. I LOVED this game when I was younger. Brings back so many memories. I wish we all could go back to when games were actually good. This makes other games look like trash nowadays.

I remember my mom taking me to gamestop and I picked the game out based off the cover art. I was disappointed when I started it up only to find it didn't have a story mode. I gave it a shot and it soon became my favorite game. I would love to play again online with my PC.

Essentially the thing that killed this particular offshoot of the Shadowrun Universe is the fact that they took a series known for being a Tabletop RPG/CRPG and tried to make a shooter out of it. I mean it was kind of a bad call, most people familiar with the franchise aren't all that into shooters, and people that are into shooters probably aren't that familiar with the Shadowrun Universe. It really was one of those out of the left field 'who is this game for?' extremely confounding decisions that would have really benefitted from either disassociating from Shadowrun, or maybe having an actual story (considering the fact that Shadowrun is pretty heavily associated with great storytelling).
I remember when I was a kid I played this game. I came as a free multiplayer demo. they gave one free map that anyone could play on the Xbox, it lasted years. After two years of playing the demo as if it was a full release, i finally bought the game. Even though it was a little too late. The player count wasn't too high and never really took off to begin with. I agree the game is so underrated and ahead of its time. To be honest I played the free demo more than I played the actual game. But I still remember this game as if it was one of the best of my youth. You sound a little young to know this game. I'm getting a little old.

I had no idea you could still play this. I bought it tonight and played a bunch of private matches with bots. Brings back good memories. They had 44 matches found but I was rejected for all of them. Hoping I'll have better luck with a live game this weekend.
Matchmaking has been shut down for many years now. But bot matches still work to this day.

My favourite FPS game of all time. Ahead of its time in so many ways, balancing, map design, the cross-play between Xbox and PC. So many great memories playing this back in the day alongside Halo 3, such a shame the servers are more or less dead now though.

This map and game bring back such good memories. Loved when the artifact was taken to the rooftop and you would have people laying elementals, strangle, anti magic traps and trees all over the point defending the helipad. Honestly a top 3 MP game in terms of gameplay. Microsoft need to revive this as a Free 2 play remaster with cosmetics to profits.

Just FYI, the Xbox Mod Squad team fixed matchmaking just a few days ago, so you might try to get a live match while you can.
As @narlycharley noted, this game was one of the most balanced FPS online multiplayer shooters ever. Amazing skill trees and abilities and none of the stupid kill streak BS from COD. I can’t believe al of the maps are the same, but much more detailed. Can’t wait to get my Series X

I was a beta tester in this game before it came out. I was suppose to have a bot named after me.... man been trying to find a away to play this again on PC.
You needed to have bought it on Games for Windows Live which closed ages ago. I don’t believe there’s a way to get it anymore PC wise.

Dude, I would do almost anything for them to release this game again with updated servers and a lil something to bring life back into it. Like bare minimum I would be so happy :( if they actually made a sequel or HD remaster holy shit I’d loose it. I played it every Friday and Saturday’s for years after it had “died” back around 2013-2017ish when it finally did start to fully die down :( I also played it for a few heard on launch too bht I’m thankful I was able to come back to it for the time I did 💛💛💛 proudest 100% on the achievements I ever had. I’ll always remember and cherish this time period of video games from 2006-2011 when online games were Really popping off and everyone wanted to have fun 💛 couldn’t help but ramble..this game awakens memories lol

I remember playing the hell out of the xbox360 version of this games demo online.. On just that first level but i got so good it was ridiculous. I believe i was even the first person to ever do the weird fly/forceball thing at the ground on the roof to create an awesome explosion affect, i still dont know if it was a glitch but i remember everyone adding me just to ask how i did it.. I had entire lobbies try to add me at once.
I remember spending hours just watching the videos of the game within the demo cause i knew i was too young to ever buy it and i was addicted to gears of war fighting for the leaderboard top spot and halo 3 trying to get Bungie to sign my clan that had like 200+ people which was insane for the time.. My clan got so big at one point i would randomly see people with my emblem and be like no way.

8:45 kinda wish you could push yourself up in situation like that. Looks fairly fun even if I dont play competitive multiplayer games at all anymore. I still might give this a go to celebrate release of Shadowrun tactical RPG series on Xbox Game Pass.
Only it sucks you cant get achievements in solo mode with bots. 😶 Would have been great reason to keep hitting my head against wall. At least your excitment got stuck with me and now I need to check it out anyways.

This game feels like lightly better original Red Faction gunfighting. I have no idea how this has fans, other than its multiplayer people only playing it. There is a breed, they survive this kind of meh experience for decades sometimes in pocket communities.

I think there are issues with the rights with this game and all other FASA games they have tabletop counterparts.. I thnk the only one that didnt was crimson skies which might explain why there hasn't been a remaster or sequel.. If you look up "Phil Spencer Kinda Funny" he talks about it.. he's the Xbox CEO for the ppl that don't know..

The first time I played this, I took it really personally when the enemy team was shooting my corpse. Did not understand that was strategic corpse murdering.
