Highlights of Arsenal v Leeds United, Norwich City v Liverpool and Nottingham Forest v Coventry City. Interviews with Willie Young (Arsenal) and Gordon McQueen (Leeds).
That was a great interview with the two Scots. But the thing about Willie Young is that he was banned from playing for Scotland, after an alleged incident in a Copenhagen nightclub in 1975.
I showed my kids the semi final against Stoke in 71 season they couldn't believe it was the same game they watch now. Perhaps they might understand why Dad doesn't do any tricks on the ball but ran and ran 😂
Paisley made wholesale changes to that defence after that season were Liverpool only finished 2nd and won the European Cup! The pace was sadly lacking there and Tommy Smith paid the price at the end of the season by it being the end of his Liverpool career.
Viewers should press the Red Button for subtitles for the Willie Young and Gordon McQueen conversation. Norwich had a useful team that year, didn’t they?
Brian Moore was the most biased of all the commentators of the day, any London team he would scream if they had any attack or scored, quite the opposite if the other team scored
@@SteveM-ly7oy fair comment, but all the reginal stations had their own version of the show Granada, etc and none of the other commentators were overly biased
Alan Sunderland, a great player for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Arsenal.

Had Tommy Smith played today he would be sent off every week!!! That was a really good Norwich Team.

A week later Nottingham Forest went to Old Trafford and swept Manchester United apart.
Top step of the clock end ,we didn't even have to get there early everyone knew it was our spot
Flynn always looks like he should be playing in a school match.
Martin Peters looked the youngest player on the pitch was prob in his mid thirties that season
We beat spurs with 6 reserves and Alan scored again and well be back again next year to do the same again

Well, it was London Weekend Television, and a London game was the main game every week.
