I saw a japanese video, where they used a flak diaper, 12 layers of Ballistic Nylon were capable to stop 9mm JHP bullets (4 of 5 bullets stopped) at close range, but failed at stopping 9mm FMJ
Flak, no "c". Derived from the German word for Anti-Aircraft gun. "Ballistic" nylon is just standard nylon fibre, originally 2 individual 1050 Denier threads, woven into a 2x2 basket weave rather than a 1x1 plain weave. The heavier 1650 Denier version is actually less effective. Enough of any material will stop a bullet eventually, but practical limitations for the weight and bulk of any body armour. You need around 4 times the amount of 1050D Ballistic Nylon to equal a vest made of ballistic Kevlar.
We have plans for this. The only limitation is using a pistol. Most pistol ranges don't allow you to shoot at anything other than approved paper targets.
A few more layers and it could possibly work for the 9mm.
I'm thinking so! Or a couple layers of something added in
Cool test, I was surprised about the bird shot .

Interesting! Were they bonded? Or just loose?

@@barelytactical900Oh btw, in that test they used a pistol
Cool test. Like you mentioned ballistic nylon was used for "flack" vests and intended to stop frag from flack rounds not bullets.
Exactly - hypothetically more layers might be able to stop bullets, depending on how far you want to take it

You should make more tests, like .32acp, .38acp, 9mm HJP, 9M FMJ from a pistol, against 12, 16 and 32 layers of Ballistic Nylon

Maybe more layers?
