Anyone that says Metallica's music hasn't been heavy since the black album is full of shit. Watching them perform this album with classic Lars and everyone rocking the fuck out goes to show they haven't changed a bit. If you disagree then you're surely drinking from the cup of denial
@KINGmatan Dude I'm a fan of Pantera, but Metallica invented Pantera's sound in the heavier form that we like them (from Cowboys on). Pantera admit it and were huge fans of Metallica back in the days. And Justice For All defined the sound of later metal, popularized by bands like Pantera, early Meshuggah etc. So take it easy on Metallica, leave them alone. They are fine :)
Seeing Kirk toss about that guitar is just a reminder of good he really fucking is at holding a rhythm. He's the foundation Metallica cannot live without.
I am very confident that this is tuned down to C. Never heard Metallica turning down their instruments THAT low. C Sharp, once, D more times, E Flat all the time live nowadays, and E, of course. But C? Not often.
@thehornypuppy I concur...it's not my favorite album, but it's a decent record. A lot of people forget that not only was it the trend, but they decided that solos just didn't always fit in these songs.
@DoktorOoh then you probably haven't heard anything else in your life apart from Metallica. Listen to the breakdown in the song "Domination" by Pantera (about the last 1 min).
I believe the "house" in this song refers to the inner self (being cleaner/nicer than it looks from the outside), while the "house" that jack built is more like James' career built on a dependency on alcohol. It could also be that the alcohol felt like a house because he used it as an escape.
That awkward moment when you realize that the sentence "I'm the judge. I'm the jury. I'm the executioner." from the movie Dredd Is totally a rippoff from this song...
Let's kick its ass, a reference to the CD perhaps? They seem to be having fun here - not to mention this leaves the busted snare and awful guitars from the album version dead in the water.
This song like the whole St. Anger album kicks so much ass. I really wish they'd play this live.
This is live, stupid!
@@MrParkerman6 Ya, but they don't play it other than this. THAT WAS THE POINT!!
There are so many good songs on St Anger, wish they'd play them live more often
@@jhamilton1007 They played it live with Bob on extra bass once.
they played it almost a month ago
This bonus DVD was better than the abum! They should have just done this album live. =D
Been saying that since I got this album in 03. Sound more fuller and even James voice is angrier and better all around.
I loveee those heavy vocals at "and I slam my gavel down"

This song is the first time I've seen Kirk thrash this hard since Black Album and also trip up, he's fallen over before but not because of Robert

3:43 Kirk looks kinda cool here.
Amazing Dude!!

Looks at 1:45 Kirks headbanging!! cool! :)
Is the “house” reference a throwback to “the house jack built”? Just crossed my mind

?🔥🙃🤟💥
@rune2222 James is 1st place in terms of downpicking
@DoktorOoh you take that back, NOTHING is heavier than my mama

Tess Bulic well Dredd is a very old comic so it more than likely came from that.
solo would have been perfect at 4:37
