After one of my videos went viral throughout my social media platforms, everyone fell in love with this man and his story. I got hundreds of comments from people wanting a way to donate. So, I started a GoFundMe and said I would match the first $500.
On the first day we raised $6,000! A few days after that, we made it to $10,000! That is an unbelievable amount and I couldn't have done it without all of your support.
Initially when I met this man, I offered to mow his overgrown lawn completely free. He was SO appreciative and told me that he didn't have a penny to his name. He isn't able to get out to take care of it because he's had 2 heart attacks and 3 strokes. He also let me know that he was in the Army for 9 years and did 3 different tours.
So I worked all day on his front yard and got it looking AMAZING. Today, I went back to give him 2 surprises. I transformed his backyard and I gave him $10,000!
His reaction was AWESOME and he appreciated it more than you could know! He immediately went and paid his water, gas, and electric bill which hasn't been on for 3 months. He is also getting someone to fix his backdoor and the windows around his home.
I'm so happy I was able to help this man out to the best of my ability. I wanted to give a huge thank you to anyone who donated or anyone who supports me by watching my videos. I couldn't do it without you!

For a veteran to say “I’ve never been given this much money” is a tragedy in and of itself; our country should be taking care of these people for the rest of their lives. Instead, we find them living in shanties and far too many living on the streets; American has got to do better. Thank you, Spencer, for changing the world one by one.

Our Veterans, just like many elders on Social Security DIDN'T MAKE much money, back when they may have started work you were paid maybe a dollar a day, depending on your profession and many military men made even LESS, THEREFORE THEIR MILITARY RETIREMENT PAY IS LOW, EVEN IF THEY RETIRED AT 20-30 YEARS same with SS recipients, AND TO TOP IT ALL OF, SOME OF THE VERY ELDERLY WORKED BEFORE SS WAS EVEN BEGUN.

Amazing. What I noticed was in had several NEIGHBORS-what is wrong with people these days? Could none of his neighbors even run a weed eater?Took a total stranger and hundreds of other strangers to help this VET! He risked his LIFE and his physical health for us. Spencer you may want to contact the local VFW, they may be able to assist this man in getting some help to do repairs on his home. IDK what his situation is but he clearly needs help. I think we, as a country, need to do more for our veterans. Thank you for going the extra mile on this one ♥

The political spectrum shouldn’t be ignored though - it needs to be addressed and fixed. There are quite a few really unstable people being radicalised. And it is getting worse and worse. We can’t continue to ignore it.

This Navy veteran thanks you for helping this Army veteran. Many times in spite of a person's best intentions, burdens of living can overwhelm them. A spouse or partner passes, medical bills become excessive, cost of living goes up, etc. You not only gave this man hope, but I'm certain also relief. I've been watching your videos for a couple of months now, and this is by far the best one. No shame in a veteran receiving help. Also, as long as you serve you have free medical. Go to VA and get signed up. Nobody in America should EVER go hungry!❤

I wish I'd seen this sooner. I'm in tears as I watch this. I'm also a veteran (USMC 1969 - 1973; Vietnam '71 - '72). God bless you Spencer, for what you are doing, especially helping that vet. I'm 72 and still cut my own yard, but it's quite steep especially the driveway as it almost 45 degrees vertical and about 35 yards long with a bend in the center then up another 45 degrees and 35 yards to the top. I live on the side of a mountain in eastern Tennessee. I can't even use a lawnmower. Since everything is so steep I cannot use a lawnmower. I have to weed eat 1.7 acres. I've had numerous heart attacks and finally open heart surgery with a triple by-pass. I've also had a stroke back on 7/15/2017 and a stint put in in 9/19. Only thing I want are your prayers. Cheers from eastern TN and Ooooh Raahh, Semper Fi to all those Marines out there.

As the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran (god bless his soul died 2 yrs ago) thank you Spencer so much for this help you gave to this Vet. And to the Vet thank you so much for your service sir! I agree that pur Veterants are seriously overlooked. My dad was fighting for a decade or more to get his VA through. I remember praying everyday at dinner that Gid would do it. Well id say around 1999 it finally came through. My dad got his army retirement he served around 30 years in the Army. I have the original picture of my dad in his Class A uniform when he was in the alArmy he was 17-18 years old. Its my most precious most prized treasure.

@@dattran6372 The first time he went home, this man hadn't had a proper meal in days. He had no electricity, no water service, so he probably didn't even eat properly if at all.
When I did medical transportation for the VA I saw how lonely alot of Vet's are. When he said I know I'm loved, that meant alot to me. You probably helped his mental health a million times over. What a great community.

I don't know this man's story, I'm not a veteran... just a 65-yr.-old man who was moved to tears by this video and how all involved positively affected this older gentleman. People are truly good at heart, and want to help... sometimes we get overwhelmed at all the places that need us, and do nothing. I can't even explain how much this video pleases me and equal happiness for the old-boy who lives here and has fallen on hard times. You saved him. Literally. You are a literal life-saver. Without his utilities cut off and no means of paying them to get reconnected, in addition to his serious health conditions, who knows what may have befallen him in the following months without your intervention. I am an atheist so I won't say God bless you, but as a humanist I will say you are the absolute definition of a good man. This was just too much this morning. Between the tears and the joy and all the love going around, it made my entire day. I was glad to be a part of helping this man, and I would do it again if he ever fell into dire straights. Spencer, if more people were like you, the world would be a better place, and it's so nice to see that there still are nice people around. Sometimes when you listen to the news, it's just so depressing, and you have renewed my faith in mankind. Your compassion and your work ethic are unsurpassed. My husband was a disabled vet, and I know he's looking down on you now. You are the best, in fact you are better than the best !!

I think this is the 2nd or 3rd video of your I have seen in last two days and this video was one of the most inspirational. There are a few great guys out there doing this for people, but never see anyone go the extra mile raising money. Its so sad to see the veterans in the USA come home to be homeless,or their house in such disrepair with no help after they fought for their country. My twin Uncles were Airforce Veterans,lost both in last two years. They received money for cleaners, lawn care, repairs, shoes, hearing aids etc. from Canadian Government. The US should be doing more for their veterans, never should we see man or woman that fought for freedom or what the rest of the country takes for granted and then watch them go hungry,. Spencer what you have done for this man in a day is more than the government has done in his whole career, God bless you and him
ill be honest I dont usually cry to a lot of things, but this really got me. Having family members that are veterans from the korean war and vietnam that are both disabled. This truly hit home for me. Thank you SB mowing and this beautiful community for helping out this gentleman.

Thank you Spencer and community. I’m the daughter of 2 veterans who met in WWII. Mom outranked dad, she was a 1st Lt and he was a 2nd Lt. ( she continued to outrank him for 50 years). my dad served during the Korean War in Ft Bliss Texas where my 3rd sister was born. ( mom said the cockroaches were bigger than the baby). My brother is retired Army, another brother and a sister served. I have a nephew who served in the marines and one in the army. I still have 2 nephews who are in the army and will retire from there and begin 2nd careers. I have a nephew-in-law who has served many years and is a Sergeant Major ( in the reserves but also works in law enforcement and has a doctoral degree). Even my ex served 3 different branches to be able to get military retirement.
This is on a t shirt l bought my son. What is a veteran? A "Veteran"-Whether Active Duty, Discharged, Retired, or Reserve-Is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America ", for the amount of, and including his life" THAT IS HONOR. And there are too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact. I am a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, ex-wife (Vietnam), and a mother of 2 son veterans. I have just taken my Dad and my brothers flags in to have the name plate engraved with their information on the case that now holds and displays the flag that covered their casket. I thought my Mom had their already engraved. Thank you, Spencer, for helping this man who put his life on the line for us.
