Why are you installing the radiator at the bottom of the case? That's a great way to prematurely kill the pump because the pump shouldn't be above the rad. The FormD T1 allows that configuration from the top. I really don't get that build decision.
The T1 V2 is by far my favorite case. Sadly my itx motherboard died so I am not using it currently but I am planning on rebuilding in it this holiday season.

Another excellent video. One of your best builds in my opinion. I love this case. It's similar to the Fractal Terra, but more flexible. I have the reference version of the T1, and I've been using it for the past year. The reference version is a very good solution for air cooling, as it has a lot more space for the CPU cooler. I prefer air cooling, but that's just me. The worst thing about this case I have experienced is the feet. I often move my PC from room to room, since it's so small. In so doing, and I am not heavy handed, two of the rubber feet have worn through to the metal underneath. So, if you slide it around too much like you do at 10:40 in the video, the feet will wear out. I just ordered some new feet from Ali Express lol.

Will I have to worry about overheating months down the line? Awesome video and keep up the great work!
The temps have actually improved by a few degrees since shooting the video. I flipped the case by swapping the bottom panel and top panel, so now the radiator is on top. I would definitely recommend doing that, as it will increase the lifespan of the AIO. Thanks!
@DevynJohnston. Holy cow I just built in this case and thank you very much for your tutorial!!! It helped immensely, I got the V2.5 but it still helped me so much! I really liked the video, especially since I am trying to deciding on a case. Unfortunatly the FormD T1 and the Dan C4-SFX are sold out for quite some time. I also like the Lian Li A4-H2O. In another video I have seen that there might be an issue with heat management when using components that are too demanding. I'd get components like an RX 7800 XT with a Ryzen 5 7500F and plan to build it in an A4-H2O using an AIO. Do you think this will work fine, also considering later upgrade options?
7:50 the stock SF750 cables are more than good enough in the FormD T1 - I'm running an air cooled build in triple slot mode and with some cable ties they are easily managed. If you think the SF750 cables are bad the ones from the EVGA GM line are FAR worse - horrendous cables.
Wow. What CPU, cooler and GPU are in that build? Not much room for cooling left and that with a 3 slot GPU. I'm guessing you have a pair of T30s on top, sucking at maximum capacity to keep that setup from throttling. I'm curious, so please share. I just finished my T1 build today, using an Atmos 240, and cabling was quite a challenge with stock Corsair cables. It turned out quite nice, but it took me many, many hours to get it right. I had to mount the PSU in alternative / 90 degree mode, to prevent the cables from clogging up the airflow of the T30 on the radiator. AIO tubes are very cramped in that setup, but it works, just barely.
good video btw, you got the tiny step more understandable for first-buyer of this case as me. But you talk too much about the component used in this case, that must takes half the duration of the video that i dont want to hear and just skip those part. Hope you can cut them short in the next videos.
Hi Devyan, good to watch your videos. I like how you build pc using components, they look amazing. I am new to pc and I have never build my own and I wonder, will I be able to figure out how to connect all parts 🙃 .
For multitasking MS Office, PDFs, browser tabs, and statistical packages (e.g. Stata, SPSS, Python) and then in free time some gaming which CPU from the ones mentioned will be better to have a snappy experience.
Beware with the Arctic P12 slim fan *without* any kind of washers/rubber buffers between the fan and the motherboard! I did pretty much the exact same setup here, and after a week or so of use the P12 slim destroyed itself by coming in contact with my motherboard! Luckily my motherboard is still fine but now I have to get a brand new fan. Please avoid this if building this yourself.
Great call out. I am using Arctic P12 so I will keep an eye out. I got fan covers for both of them so I think it'll be ok but Will still keep an eye out
@@devyn.johnston you can also try to use an air cooler for the CPU, the biggest you can put in with 5-6 pipes and put to two fans at the top to pull the hot air out. This will drastically decrease the GPU temps and might raise abite the CPU temps. The radiator is trapping all the hot air that the GPU creates. You can try this and see how the temps improve for you. Might even be an idea for an update video

Won't the pump pull air bubbles being at the highest point in the loop. Leading to early pump death. I went with the Dan a4 h20. 7800x3d + 4090 fe. 240 kraken aio. System has good thermals. And pump is lower then radiator.
Generally I prefer Mini itx tower case, but this one really impressive me, I just love this case, unfortunatelly, all perfect cases like this, doesnt sell in brazil.
Loved the vid, but the build seems so intricate it completely throws me off from wanting to attempt it lol. Ordering custom cables? Replacing the fans on the AIO unit? Having to use custom screws and add a fan grill? No thanks.
Hey Devyn, do you have any recommendations for using an air cooler on your CPU rather than AIO in this case? Do you see any drawbacks to using an air cooler? Would it yield better or worse cooling performance than an AIO?
I have an AMD 5600g going into this case. Lower TDP CPU's like mine doesn't need a watercooler to run well. If you have a big ass GPU, you'll be limited on height for your CPU cooler. I have a 2-slot thick GPU so I'm going with as big an air cooler as I can, which is the Noctua L12S.
How did you get the Noctua fan to fit with the grille? Using the same cooler, fan and mobo combo, but the clearance is so low the fan grill gets pushed into the fan by the motherboard while the case is closed.
I recently build in a FormD T1 V2.1. I used this to help walk me through the process. So well-paced and thorough.

But you talk too much about the component used in this case, that must takes half the duration of the video that i dont want to hear and just skip those part. Hope you can cut them short in the next videos.
I'd rather flip the case so that the aio is on top so that it gets more airflow
That's the way to go.
Hi Devyan, good to watch your videos. I like how you build pc using components, they look amazing. I am new to pc and I have never build my own and I wonder, will I be able to figure out how to connect all parts 🙃 .
Another epic build, another epic video, thanks!
As Always a Pleasure watching your videos.
For multitasking MS Office, PDFs, browser tabs, and statistical packages (e.g. Stata, SPSS, Python) and then in free time some gaming which CPU from the ones mentioned will be better to have a snappy experience.
loved the build sans the 7800xt gigabyte OC
Beware with the Arctic P12 slim fan *without* any kind of washers/rubber buffers between the fan and the motherboard! I did pretty much the exact same setup here, and after a week or so of use the P12 slim destroyed itself by coming in contact with my motherboard! Luckily my motherboard is still fine but now I have to get a brand new fan. Please avoid this if building this yourself.
Great call out. I am using Arctic P12 so I will keep an eye out. I got fan covers for both of them so I think it'll be ok but Will still keep an eye out
So easy to follow thank you!
If you flip the case around bottom to top the temps will be better
yea you're 100% correct. I overlooked the idea of flipping the case
Wow you can build your own console this way, with way better performance and put it in a living room setup.
If you could ever actually buy this case, that would be pretty cool.
Got a link for those shorter rad screws?
Why not use an SFX-L PSU? If I look at 10:07, it looks like it would fit well.
So that logic u could use any 240mm rad with slim fans? Just flip the case over?
I think it’s upside down
Is it intentional? Or any modding require?
It's designed that way
@@fishhh009no modding is required, everything should work out the box
@@NaitikMaini so for like a standard build would that be upside down or right way up because I have mine flip over
@@notaaronc4539 to my knowledge there's no standard you get to decide how you want to do it, buy the sandwich (upside down) layout performs better thermally thus allowing the GPU to get slightly higher boost clocks as compared to the reference (right side up) layout
You dont understand how bad I want a mini itx pc. Like i seen Optimum's setup with this case and Im going to heavily inspire my desk setup after his, because it so clean and sleek, ugh IDK.
Can you flip the orientation on this case? I do not like the pump being on top of the radiator.
Yup. Just flip it.
Won't the pump pull air bubbles being at the highest point in the loop. Leading to early pump death. I went with the Dan a4 h20. 7800x3d + 4090 fe. 240 kraken aio. System has good thermals. And pump is lower then radiator.
yea I didn't flip the case in the video. I have the correction in the pinned comment and description.
LOVE YOUR CONTENT OF TECH AND PRESENTATION!! AWESOME!!! ^_^!!
Hey devy, does the case come with the support for the 240mm radiator and fan or do I have to buy the essential pack with it?
Is the breakout box (9:47) included somewhere, or do you have to buy it separately? Where can I get this breakout box?
Generally I prefer Mini itx tower case, but this one really impressive me, I just love this case, unfortunatelly, all perfect cases like this, doesnt sell in brazil.
Import
I'm thinking of ACTUALLY building this! If I put a 4080/4090 in it, can I be getting overheat issues?
I'm a pc noob here. 😅
Are SF750s still in production? They seem very hard to get.
Watching this on my t1 rig
Loved the vid, but the build seems so intricate it completely throws me off from wanting to attempt it lol. Ordering custom cables? Replacing the fans on the AIO unit? Having to use custom screws and add a fan grill? No thanks.
Will we ever see motherboards with usbC only io? UsbA should be obsolete by now
Im planning to build a productivity pc for work with a 13700k and 4060. Which one would have better thermals? Formd T1 or Lian li A4 H20?
Corsair just needs to work out miniITX chase😊
Hey Devyn, do you have any recommendations for using an air cooler on your CPU rather than AIO in this case? Do you see any drawbacks to using an air cooler? Would it yield better or worse cooling performance than an AIO?
I have an AMD 5600g going into this case. Lower TDP CPU's like mine doesn't need a watercooler to run well. If you have a big ass GPU, you'll be limited on height for your CPU cooler. I have a 2-slot thick GPU so I'm going with as big an air cooler as I can, which is the Noctua L12S.
Very clean, but ASUS mb on AM5 is risky 💀
How did you get the Noctua fan to fit with the grille? Using the same cooler, fan and mobo combo, but the clearance is so low the fan grill gets pushed into the fan by the motherboard while the case is closed.
What are the custom cable lengths you used?
