Common jet boat owner dock terminology checklist: 1) Horsepower = always tell everyone it's 2 to 3 times more HP than what it really is. 2) Exit the dock area A.S.A.P. and create a smoke screen while burping the throttle to mimic blower surge before anyone realizes that's only a tunnel ram and not a blower. 3) Speed = always tells everyone it goes twice as fast as it really does (or 100 for most) 4) always plane off wide open on the limiter with nozzle trimmed full up as the noise, rooster tail and high RPM's will wow and distract everyone at the dock before they realize that while it sounds like you're going mach 3 that you're really doing 40. 5) Always have a good excuse at the ready when you get smoked by some random bassboat.

hey nice boat, other then when your coming to a stop to shut down for a little bit, do you always open the valve to let the water run through the pipes when your running at all times? what happens if you dont? thanks
Some (probably most) have a spring-loaded ball valve that closes when the pump isn't running. I took the ball and spring out of mine though and it's never caused any problem when the engine stops the pump stops and no more water goes into the headers they are above the lake surface where the water lines tie into the headers. I took the ball and spring out of mine because I like to have a little water flowing into the headers even at idle so they don't run dry and get dangerously hot (if you touch them by accident.... it happens!). With the ball and spring in, there's no water going into the headers at idle they will be dry and get VERY hot in a matter of seconds!
Knew that was coming. Love jet boats. I had a 20 Eliminator, 454 Chevy. Pull 5 slalom skiers without a problem (except for keeping the ropes untangled). Those were fun days.
My challenge has always been getting multiple skier's who can get up and stay up consistently. The more skiers you try to pull, the greater the probability that 1 will fall. Myself I prefer the kneeboard with a 100 foot long ski rope it's a blast to be way out there to the side of the boat in my own little world spinning around riding backwards stuff like that. 8-)
When I lived in Nashville, we’d go to Percy Warner Lake and there were a ton of these boats with big block American V8s, jet drives, low low gunnels, a huge rooster tails as 5hey came flying by, some seemed to be better than 50 feet high, at least that’s what I thought back in the 1970s
Most bass boats with 200hp top around 70 or a little more depends on the hull not the motor. That jet boat in that short video was close to doing that in the distance he went and could go more. I’ve been in one that would do a 100 but he took me to 80 and that was enough for me.
@@nickw9376 the boat is propelled by the jet of water coming out of the nozzle, so the boat is hurting forward motion by have the jet shooting up. But its looks good when you are doing it
Loving life with us. You should've asked the owner where their life jackets were and FYI a jet boat has an engine in it from like an F15 not an engine out of an Oldsmobile
"....a jet boat has an engine in it from like an F15" You are referring to a completely different kind of boat that uses a turbine engine for power and a prop for propulsion. There is a different name for them that escapes me at the moment. Jet boats use a jet pump for propulsion and almost always a big block v-8 engine for power!
Check your facts. LSX454 is as far as you can get from '''stock'' in the LS small block family, $13k+ available only as a long block crate engine from GM Performance.
We have fun waxing those jets with our tournament bass boats. Just slam the fishing thrones down & say, "Let's go!" Happens often and never ceases to blow minds.
I have owned lots of these boats, and they are very versatile! I have several boats now 2 that are v drives ! But the jet is more family friendly for the wife! All the boats have mufflers and are not so loud! If you ever get a chance to ride in one do it! Just make sure the guy driving is sober and a experience driver! And always wear a life jacket ,you can come out of these boats in a instant!
everyone shit up with the hate y'all don't have jet boats and so what on how he uses his boat or does with his kid. as I see it this man just created memories for a lifetime for his boy. and not all jet boats are made for speed those engines are more torque than raw HP and when dealing with water torque is what is needed you won't fly but you sure will pull
spinracing if it's a 454, no but if it's something bigger, like a 632 BBC, with CNC heads, twin dominators and race gas. oh yeah, you could make 1100+ HP. this one prob 450-500. lol
There sure are a lot of people with this sort of boat on youtube. Small, low, skiff-like hulls with no free-board and a great big engine running headers straight to the air. All they ever seem to do is roar up and down in front of each other on dead flat water. Tough luck for all the people who didn't go there to listen to un-muffled engines roaring.
Mine always gets compliments from people though. Can't take it anywhere without people coming over to see it up close and ask questions. I do not start the engine after sunset though, as it is rather loud even with mufflers in the pipes. These are fun boats, not hum-drum boats! ;-P

Do you size 12 slots brakes and much much rhp & torque on the dyno u have. ! It's just a question?
He was any kind of dad he put a life jacket on that kid
He would rather be a friend than a parent.
Would have launched twice as fast if the nozzle was in the water!! LOL All show no go!!
I thought there something wrong with that launch.
Bob Beck I can he just wanted to impress the kid lol
Most bass boats with 200hp top around 70 or a little more depends on the hull not the motor. That jet boat in that short video was close to doing that in the distance he went and could go more. I’ve been in one that would do a 100 but he took me to 80 and that was enough for me.
Why would having the nozzle in the water make a difference?
@@nickw9376 the boat is propelled by the jet of water coming out of the nozzle, so the boat is hurting forward motion by have the jet shooting up. But its looks good when you are doing it
So its 2023...is this boat for sale yet? I'm ready to buy fast.
Child and no safety jacket wowww,i hope it will never end in a tragic way man
kid should nt have been in that boat anyway doing those speeds. IMO.
Poor little guy almost jumped out when the boat was cranked up.
ok
what spead? 30 mph? cuz thats how fast the guy was going.
"spead"
just get the fuck outta here
That was about 60 miles per hour, not 30.
Loving life with us. You should've asked the owner where their life jackets were and FYI a jet boat has an engine in it from like an F15 not an engine out of an Oldsmobile
bobbypickle67 false the drive is a jet drive. Not In the exact sense of a fighter jet but uh you get the idea it doesn’t have a prop
Actually, many jet boats do use a 455 Olds.
"....a jet boat has an engine in it from like an F15"
You are referring to a completely different kind of boat that uses a turbine engine for power and a prop for propulsion. There is a different name for them that escapes me at the moment. Jet boats use a jet pump for propulsion and almost always a big block v-8 engine for power!
That's frkin awesome !! A dad and his son kickin butt on the lake in a blown jet boat !! Coolist thing I've ever seen !!
Precisionhobbycraft It was awesome to see, thanks for watching!
ron conard
Ron you are so right. But it seems that is the way society is headed. Yaehh for me and ____ everybody else.
Wrong. Tunnelram..No blower......
You are obviously a "true punk"...when you mature...you may understand...otherwise FY. Once a punk...always a punk.
Nothing better than watching a jet ski pass a jet boat
bullshit no way does it have 950hp may be 400 -450 only
Yourvideossuck247 LSX454 makes 627hp and 586lb-ft torque when it's stock. Imagine what a few mods would do
Check your facts. LSX454 is as far as you can get from '''stock'' in the LS small block family, $13k+ available only as a long block crate engine from GM Performance.
Omg that's a killer blue! Beautiful boat!!!!!!😁
What kind of model is the boat? It looks like something I've never seen before. Was the boat originally manufactured in the 70's or something?
@@johnbreighner5852 reminds me of those jolley rogers...
Must have been a really small "jet boat" I couldn't see it. Pretty cool combustion engine boat tho.
Love this comment!
The jet is the nozzle that propels the boat instead of a propeller.
Nice joke tho lol
say your dont know anything about boats without saying you dont know anything about boats
Is this a jet boat? The upwards spray suggests a propeller.
We have fun waxing those jets with our tournament bass boats. Just slam the fishing thrones down & say, "Let's go!"
Happens often and never ceases to blow minds.
Not as cool as them...
Where was this?
Who cares what size the engine is - what about putting a life jacket on your son.
Diesel Ramcharger relax kid
Was it in fact his son?
douglas oakley if it was I hope the comments on this video will help with his safety
he can swim
Usually people that run these boats are to stupid to use a PFD it's not about "boating" it's about how loud my toy is, and there usually fat!
Dude went WOT and hit what? 40mph? 🤭
Aww nice fresh air as the dude lights up a cigarette next to a child.
everyone shit up with the hate y'all don't have jet boats and so what on how he uses his boat or does with his kid. as I see it this man just created memories for a lifetime for his boy. and not all jet boats are made for speed those engines are more torque than raw HP and when dealing with water torque is what is needed you won't fly but you sure will pull
How nice is that water
Big block and tunnel ram with dual quads is NOT 950 hp.
But...but...but...didn't you hear the blower surge. LOL
its not supercharged, just a tunnel ram intake, if you look closely there's no blower belt. the surging was him throttling it, warming it up
Katie Johnson obviously you don't understand sarcasm.
LSX454 makes 627hp stock
spinracing if it's a 454, no but if it's something bigger, like a 632 BBC, with CNC heads, twin dominators and race gas. oh yeah, you could make 1100+ HP. this one prob 450-500. lol
I had a friend who has one of these little boats with a Chevrolet 454. Talk about a ride and a half.
please let me know when this boat is for sale.
is this a scene from great outdoors?
There sure are a lot of people with this sort of boat on youtube. Small, low, skiff-like hulls with no free-board and a great big engine running headers straight to the air.
All they ever seem to do is roar up and down in front of each other on dead flat water. Tough luck for all the people who didn't go there to listen to un-muffled engines roaring.
Mine always gets compliments from people though. Can't take it anywhere without people coming over to see it up close and ask questions. I do not start the engine after sunset though, as it is rather loud even with mufflers in the pipes. These are fun boats, not hum-drum boats! ;-P
Natural selection at work.
Life jacket for the boy?? Things can go sideways fast!!!
Fourday so fast is right.
That’s so cool! Lucky kid!😊
Beautiful lake
What a peaceful day at the lake and smelling that wonderful clean air. Only in America
