Where Can I buy the spring loaded pin?

It started as a 1/4 aluminum rod that I cut down, powered by a small spring I had laying around. I replaced it with piece of walnut dowel (glued in and cut flush) because the spring put too much pressure on the lock mechanism.

Is there a way to cleanly have access to the USB plug rather than taking the back off? I want to build a hidden secret box in the wall between the studs with a mirror/door
