    The 2 Maxtochs are really impressive, the W4 Pro finally beaten

    Besides the OwlEyes, the Maxtoch Xsword L2KD is the next brightness.

    My research lead me to the conclusion Maxtoch takes the cake as the throw winner, but that Weltool is a better quality light. I decided that I’d rather have the one throws a little less but is superior build quality, because IMO all 5 of these throw enough. Went with the W4 Pro

    • @1lumen

      Yeah, the W4 PRO is a great flashlight, looks good and performs very well. ANd like you said: it's not always just about the performance.
      The way it work (UI) the number and type of batteries, charging, runtime, and other features. Good to hear you made a well-considered decision.

    Great job! I like the last four or five beam distances where there was no light pollution around. And you just focus the camera on the light and the windmill. I live in a rural area where there's tons of hiking trails and no light pollution at all. I get the appreciate the beams and their true potential without any interference from light pollution!

    Nice comparison video, I like the W4 pro best. I wonder how they achieve those throw figures. Is it there a noticable difference in the lens used?

    • @1lumen
      @1lumen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Darren They got the highest end LEP module + the best materials: lens, switch, driver, springs.. etc. It's probably hard to beat by another single cell flashlight with the same size!

    I started to buy the Maxtoch Xsword and I'm glad I didn't! $400 bucks for a light I thought would be way brighter than my Acebeam W30 but it sure isn't! From all the videos I've watched on TH-cam about LEP lights, most all of the big ones are about the same in distance and intensity. In other words, I can't see a $400 dollar difference in the beamshots!

    • @1lumen
      @1lumen  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have the Acebeam w30, congrats. It's a very nice and fine light. If the data doesn't convince you enough that there is a tremendous difference between them, just enjoy the W30. But I'd recommend to have a look at some written reviews as well. Plus, you can't compare videos between different reviewers who use different camera settings etc. Oh, and don't forget some reviewers even just use Auto camera settings that would make the comparison kind of useless. So, please read the written reviews with the data, hopefully that can convince you.

    I currently have an Acebeam W30 and considering an Astrolux wp3 as an upgrade. A few questions:
    I know about the PWM thing on low and high with the wp3, is it still there on turbo?
    How's the build quality compared to the w30?
    Figures on paper are one thing, but does the wp3 throw farther than the w30 enough to notice a difference?
    Thanks!

    • @1lumen
      @1lumen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi.. please always check our written reviews on 1lumen.com They have all the details about measurements (lumens and throw) as well as runtime, beamshots etc.
      My WP3 seems to have the visible PWM, but I have heard others not having the same problem. So that would be great.. Yes the WP3 would be an upgrade.. good build quality etc. But you could also look at the NlightD L1, which we reviewed here: 1lumen.com/review/nlightd-l1/ it's basically the successor of the W30 with more throw and 2 modes instead of 1..

      I've actually changed my mind now and decided to splurge on the w4 pro. But now I'm at another dilemma... since I'm gonna spend so much why don't I go all out and get the mf05... decisions haha!

    Thank you for the helpful review and beamshots. Following the specifications the Weltool W4Pro have to be the flashlight with the second most candela, but the L2KD look much better in this video. Is this because of the colder light color? I would need it for lightpainting on big structures and it need to fight against the city light during the photo exposure. And it looks like the Owleyes dont have much more visible light on the point, is it right? Best regards from Germany.

    • @1lumen
      @1lumen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The difference isn't too big, and I think other features might be more important for you. Look at the UI, batteries, (sustained) runtime, etc.

    • @Jeno996
      @Jeno996 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@1lumen Thank you a lot for the helpful response. So I think I will try it with the L2KSD and the L3KS. And think, I don't need much runtime in my case, because the lights just work a few seconds during an exposure and our point is an observation platform, the ticket runs 45 minutes:-):-). By this way: if you are interested, here I have a few pics I made this way before (uploaded on 14th, 16th and 18 of april 2023). Best regards and much thanks.
