    That is a spectacular annealing

      Thanks! I do it with a home made setup. It's not quick, but it works very well. Someday, I will have to make a video on that.

    What’s the annealed you are using?

      It is one that I made. Check out North East Texas Tactical... he is where I got the info to make it. I think it works great!

    Matt am I doing this wrong? First you resized the cases, then you annealed the cases. Is that the correct order to the case prep? Or is that just the way it came out on the video? I'm fairly new to reloading and I'm using the salt bath method for annealing my cases.

      I anneal last. My theory is that I want the brass to expand as easily as possible. Less gas coming around the mouth and into the chamber/bolt/action areas. More games going forward and it seems to work well for me.

      @@mattsreloadingbench Ok thanks Matt . Like I said I'm fairly new to this reloading game, and trying learn as much as I can from experienced handleaders like yourself. I'm also not competition shooting. I'm trying to develop accurate reliable hunting loads for my customized 30-06 rifle useing different powders and bullets, and I'm really enjoying this process. I find your load development videos extremely educational. Thanks again.

    Is there a reason for you to be annealing before neck sizing? I have found in my experience that you get a lot more uniform sizing if you anneal before to reduce spring back to promote more uniform neck tension

      This has been a topic for discussion a few times for me. There are shooters that anneal every few times that they load, there are shooters that anneal every time they reload, there are shooters that anneal before sizing, there are shooters that anneal after sizing, some brass makers don't anneal, some anneal last before packaging.
      What is the right or wrong way?
      It depends on who you talk to and what experiences they have had.
      My experience is this... I get good results that "I" am happy with. I am able to hit targets at a mile that is repeatable. That is what matters to me.

      @@mattsreloadingbench That is a very respectable answer The other thing that I am really surprised about on your channel and several others is the lack of fouler shots to warm up the barrel if nothing else before shooting your first shots of load development. Especially now with your newer cleaning regime. You might find smaller sets and es's to help with load development.

      I never do load development through a clean barrel.

    Annealing machine? Is that store bought or home made?

    • @mattsreloadingbench
      @mattsreloadingbench  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is home made. I will make a video about it sometime in the future.

    The tool you use to chamfer the inner case mouth is what angle? I know their are different choices for chamfer angle. Thanks and keep the videos coming!
