Yes, I have to trim them twice a year.
But it is worth it because they are spectacular!
Great shrubs! Lots of them I can't plant. I garden in zone 5b, so I am going to pick Golden Globe Arborvitae. Love the really cold hardy varieties, because many times I keep them in big containers until I decide on where to put them.
My Mom has Alzheimer’s and when she stays with me, I put on garden videos because conversations are hard for her. We watched this video together and while is was GREAT INFO for me, she just laughed and laughed and loved this video. Thanks for making my Mama’s morning and mine as well. Her laugh makes my heart full.

On December 24, 2018 our house burned, and on December 12, 2022 our youngest son made his transition to a new life on his 35th birthday. He and I were about to do some landscaping to our newly built home but, everything was put on hold. He was my go-to person for everything & now I'm about to take on this project without him. And after looking at several videos, this video was just what I needed as a person that has never done any type of landscaping. It made me realize I can do this although his not here.

Many of your plants I can't grow here in Nova Scotia Canada, but still watch all your videos because we do have similar evergreen shrubs/trees (my favourites) & gardeners can use varieties from their area that are similar in shape & colour for pairing ideas!

Ok, so I just love you! You remind me of my son- he's 21 and a total comic like you. You make choosing plants fun while I learned a whole lot about each one. Honestly, I live in Mississippi and would drive all the way to you guys for plants just because of you!!!! How fun was that? LOL. I live in zone 8 and no one around knows plants like you do. I need those low growing plants in front of my house.....it's a real chore to choose shrubs and plants that'll work.

You might want to add Ember Waves Arbovitae ....they are simply GORGEOUS! They don't grow as fast as Green Giant, nor do they get as big...but they are STUNNING!

Wow! I came across your channel last week bc I'm looking for some low maintenance dwarf type Conifers. I watched your video with you and that guy showing off his gorgeous yard/garden with so many gorgeous tree's my head was spinning. Well today you just showed up on my play list and wow. Just another awesome presentation for more everygreens I'm looking for. Just bought 20 Panicle Hydrangeas last month keeping them part shaded till fall. We've had some 95° weather here in the PNW zone 8b and didn't want to fry them. I have alot of perennials that I planted this year but no evergreens and I don't have a huge space in the front. I want color for fall and winter for all year really. I also put pavers on the side of my house so no grass and want to put some trees in pots. Thank you for sharing. You have a new subscriber.😊

My faves are lagustrums and arborviteas and encore azaleas. I have most of those that you mentioned, but the purple or lavender azaleas don't live or thrive here for some reason. I live in Garner North Carolina, South West of downtown Garner in the rural farmland area. I love it here, so quiet most of the time.BTW I adore your ENERGY and work ethic! You're a balk of fun and handsome too! Your wife is very lucky blessed lady!
I love Candy Corn spirea! I also want the blue-green Blue Kazoo spirea. I wish I could grow loropetalum in my zone 5 garden. That Jazz Hands is amazing color! I also wish I could grow nandina.

Thanks Justin. We are re-designing our front sidewalk steps to door and have a nice 45 stretch of walk with 7 ft wide beds on either side. We found your cerise charm and kaleidoscope recommendation in another video and see it here again. Definitely choosing that combination. We are a tad too far from your greenhouse (between G'Bo and Charlotte) but will come visit your nursery later in the fall or spring. Thanks again for that suggestion.
