Wow!!, what a tremendous insight into Fairline Yachts and the level of commitment it takes in producing a top quality product. Special thanks Jack for your "Factory Tour", that's a real cutting edge idea that you came up with. For me, that guy Miles stole the show, his sincerity and depth of belief in the WHOLE of the Fairline team's product was incredible. At the time of writing this comment, our Country needs a new Prime Minister, go on Miles, throw your hat in the ring!!!!!
Big thank you Jack & MBY for this fascinating walk around the Fairline yachts Factory in Oundle and then Ipswich - the finally finished Yachts take a lot of time and work more than i thought and then some, probably why they are so expensive! ... that Fairline Squadron 68 (mine btw? lol) at the end of the video looks gorgeous ~ and thank you to Fairline Yachts for letting MBY film you so as we can see how they build there luxury Yachts
I enjoy making vlogs and video about Yacht and Boat but I honestly don’t have n idea how they were made. This video help me understood a lot from scratch to finish product. Excellent video …

Brilliant Jack. This is one of the best building videos I have ever watched. Actually wanted it to keep going on! Loved Miles passion and pride about what they do. Makes me want to go see in person next time in the UK.
That was an in-depth tour of the Fairline boat building factory Jack, very informative and interesting. You don't realise how much work goes into the building of these wonderful British built motor yachts until you see it up close and personal.
A great tour jack maybe you could do another one like at Sunseeker, Princess, arksen, or one of the many other small manufacturers like redbay stormforce boats of Northern Ireland .
Just a thought Jack for a future part or chapter of your wonderful magazine that all seasoned skipper's come to each month for news and knowledge related to all things Nautical!

Thanks Jack and the team. I used to work in the old Aqua-Star factory were everything was hand made. All the laminates were hand rolled, the bulkheads were wooden and the wiring looms were made on a bench or hand routed. That was in the 90's. Much the same when we built a couple of 58, 65 and 75m superyachts in the 80's in Germany. Production techniques have moved on so much further with the advent of vacuum bagging and so forth.
Miss those Aquastars. Proper boats!

@@hugoandreae3785 as an idea for another boat factory tour why not visit and film at Ribeye boats of Dartmouth? who are another Smaller sized boat manufacturer that make Rib powerboats all the way up from 5.5 to 9.41 meters in length? it would be nice to see how they build their boats as part of the factory tour series of videos on this channel Great video please keep these videos coming along with the test drive and sea trial boat videos?

With all of those accurately made cabinets etc. I would be interested to hear what happens when in maybe 20-25 years time a refit is required. Does the original manufacturer offer that service or is it more normal to have a third party take on that kind of work?

Very interesting! Shocked though to see how inefficient the process is to get them to water due to the inland factory location! No wonder they cost so much! 😂
Lovely boats but crickey the inefficiencies there are enormous . Building your own joinery these days is massively expensive when using UK labour . All the Italian yards sub out the interiors to specialist Turkish and Slovenian manufacturers . Quality is superb and the accuracy assuming their given the right cutting packages is spot on . They build thousands of interiors so have economy of scale . The shipping must be adding tens of thousands to the price of reducing margins . Building boats of that size inland these days is monstrously expensive . Don’t get me wrong great, great boats but I worry they be back like before and go belly up because overheads are so high . They need to relocate to the coast and be able to just drop them in the water and onto a ship, sub out interiors and put some just in time processes in there or it will go under now that we are heading to another recession .
All that manpower he spoke about when transporting the yachts to the location where they will finally be launched comes with a cost. Is that cost built into the price of the yacht at the outset?
Was it my imagination or was all the cabinetry wood MDF...? 🤔
Probably the waterproof form medite .. its easier to machine and wont warp its also got no grain, knots, cracks..or resin patches .. and is mould resistant.. the finish is a venneer.
