    Looks like fun. As a kid it was the look of the cars that drew me to the Tamiya products (not to mention the box art!), but as I got older and knew what I was looking at I really came to appreciate the engineering behind them as well.

    Doing an "upgrade" for the sake of doing the upgrade is something I do often.

    What grease did you use to seal the orings from drive cup leakage

    Do any Tamiya models use ball diffs at all? I know kyosho and schumacher do but yet to come across a Tamiya kit that does.

    Gonna do this upgrade to my tamiya tt-02. Running a brushless setup so was shredding the gears

    • @shawndenman9413
      @shawndenman9413 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you shim the diff and the prop shaft you won’t shred gears most people don’t shim
      And that’s the main reason gears get shredded

    Thinking of picking up a tt02 B they any good as an off-roader or just glorified parking lot car?

      Both. Just fit the appropriate tyres for the surface.

    Are TT-02 diffs any different on the outside to the TT-01 diffs? I'm trying to build a bulletproof TT-01 drivetrain and I can't find any steel diffs and planetary gears for the TT-01 anywhere.

      Karl23extreme On the outside?

    • @Karl23extreme
      @Karl23extreme 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RCKickschannel Yes like the size of the ring gear, number of teeth, diameter, length and width of the whole differential etc. Just wanna know if it'll drop right in. I know the internals are different since the tt-01 has 3 planetary gears while the tt-02 has 4. Thanks in advance

      @@Karl23extreme I got these from Tony's Tamiya Parts on Ebay- Tamiya 51008/9805869 Bevel Gear Set, and put them in a tt01 diff case. I also used the ring and pinion gear from the gravel hound, so no more plastic gears. Had to use a hand file to get the pinion gear to sit right, but really easy to do. Put these in a TT02B and its improved the drivetrain heaps.

      @@thevisitor6267 I actually managed to find that metal parts bag for the gravel hound online! Seems to only be available in the UK. I ordered 2 of them and I can't wait to install it! Much cheaper than the GPM TT-02 hard steel gear set that isn't even compatible with the TT-01 diff case.

    Any chance of seeing this car running to see how it handles and how fast it is. The metal diff sounded awful, is it the same when driving?

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi JTB. I will get some basic running footage on Monday and put it on my RCKicks facebook page for you. When driving it's not so bad but it's fast, real fast and that's after I downgraded the brushless ECU and motor once already lol.

    • @jtb-fpv6699
      @jtb-fpv6699 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great, is this the neo scorcher that was red in your first video? If so the colour change threw me and I saw how fast it was in your back garden. It's a beast.

    Noticed that is only a 2 PINOIN DIFF, what? So you have to buy or find lol
    1 Cross Shaft & 2 Diff gears. To have a stronger 4 pinion diff. Now I have a strong Hop Up diff. Tamiya should have made them Diffs 4 pinion, since it’s a Hop Up part 💁

  • @DrDiff952

    They aren't bad, but nowhere near as smooth as a ball diff! I feed mine with a 10.5 brushless and 3S LiPo

    I’m new to this channel and I like where you’re going with it. However,I’ve got a few comments so don’t shoot me!
    So much of each video is fast-forwarded you don’t learn as much as you cannot see it. Your camera is so far away it’s almost impossible to see what is going on. Lastly, and this is a biggy, we never see you drive those lovely cars.

    • @RCKickschannel
      @RCKickschannel  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alan and thanks for your great comments. I agree with you on both counts. I hope to soon get a second camera so I can record a closer view of what I'm working on. I'm spending loads on cars and content currently so the budget is limited for a bit due to me not making an income from my videos. I try to cover this lack of footage by putting in close up pictures but I know it's not great.
      I will put out another Egress video on Monday and will try to improve the viewing angle using my iPhone for close up footage until I can get another camera. Let me know what you think when you see it?
      I fast forward some footage as I don't want the video to be longer than 10-15mins as most people watch my channel from a mobile phone and don't want to invest 15+ mins to watch one video. I did think about doing a quick version of a video and a more in-depth version for people who want to see more detail, Unfortunately, I do all the editing myself and it takes me hours as it is and I have to fit all this in around a demanding full-time job. I do hope one day I can go part-time and then really invest more effort in making quality content for you all. Baby steps as it's only been three months but I'm loving it so far.
      As for the running footage I 100% agree and I have just put some driving footage in the last pink Tamiya Lunchbox video from the other day. The main reason for not making much running footage is I want to do it really well and you need some good dedicated camera equipment to get the shots I want and that's back to funds again. I promise this is something I really want to do but I want it to look amazing. Give me a few months and I will have the camera hardware I need to pull off some epic running videos.
      Thanks again Alan and all who comment and take part interacting with me on RCKIcks. Gavin
