I've been on bedrest for 8 months. Your videos have been a blessing to watch with my son while we aren't able to get outside and explore the world ourselves. You've helped me through hard times. Wishing you strength through yours. 💪😁
One thing I’ve noticed about you is when there’s a bump in the road…you still maintain a sunny disposition, and that’s why I love your channel. Best of luck to you Jacob 😊
Jacob my friend, there are some days when I just want to give you a hug and tell you everything is going to be okay. Today is one of those days. As always, much love and safe travels.
So sorry about your phone. It’s crazy how dependent we are on them. You don’t realize until something bad happens. Yesterday we had a flash flood that flooded our downstairs. It was terrifying. We’re not used to this in California. Stay safe!
Jacob your day started out a lemon but you managed to turn it into lemon-aid Great video I loved the carousel and the board walk. Hope you had a chance to contact Jenn
Man, I get stressed when my phone isn't working while at home. You had all the reason in the world to be stressed while on the road!! Glad it all worked out!!
I've gone through a tough time recently with my job and Jacob's videos have been a beacon of light I've looked forward to each day. I so very much enjoy his adventures and the positive tone in which they are done. Thank you so much Jacob.
Oh wow, Jacob. Just want to applaud you for hanging there with the challenges you've faced the past several weeks while bringing us your wonderful content! You are an inspiration! Thank you. Upward and Onward!
I'm glad that everything worked out with your phones and the power sitiation. If you do come back to the Portland, OR area, you need to check out Next Level Pinball Museum and Arcade. Safe travels!
I work at the Santa Cruz boardwalk as a caricature artist and unfortunately they close half of the boardwalk until the end of may. The best time to see all of the boardwalk and the cave train is to come during the summer on a weekday “weekends are too busy”. Stop by my booth and I will draw you. We are across from the haunted castle. Ask for Jackie 😊
Just watched this and loved your screams thru the dark walk, I laughed right along with you. Life is full of ups and downs, and you handled them wonderful, 😊
My goodness Jacob, what an ordeal. Good you had a backup phone. And realizing you got by and over this by using your own initiative, with some help from the phone experts. But it was you who organised it, good action man! So now i'm looking forward to the rest of your video: Santa Cruz Boardwalk, dark ride and haunted house. You are doing exceptionally well!
All the stuff you’ve been through I admire how you just keep your chin up on this trip. I grew up in Santa Cruz it was a great place back in the 60’s and 70’s a lot of good memories there.
Oh Jacob, I feel for your trials on this trip! I've driven across this country three times and it just never goes to plan. But I'm so glad your phones are resolved, and SO glad that you put it behind you and went to the Boardwalk. So, that dark ride, I didn't expect it to be as good as it was! I'm glad you rode it twice. Thanks again for another great video. I'm glad you took charge of the day and had fun! Stay safe, good luck, and thank you for all you do!
Hopefully these things happening are showing you how resilient you really are. Yes they are frustrating but you overcame them and survived. You are stronger than you think.
Wheres the handy Book Jen made you when you first got together.? Maybe have some go to strategies in it. Also get a proper foldable map of US. Pack a survival kit for the car! Sending hugs x
Jacob, I have had issues w/ tech. I thought it was cute that you mentioned Jen when you thought you couldn't connect with the world. Keep trucking Carpetbagger🐾
So glad to hear you got your phones fixed! That sounded like a nightmare... Ok glad that's over...Cool! Let's go ride thru a Dark Ride Nightmare! That was a great one! I'm going to have to watch this one again!
Oh my gosh, thank you again for bringing back memories!!! I went to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk a long time ago with my boyfriend. It was the most fun we had together! I'm glad you're able to have fun even during such inclimate weather, Jacob 😁 and hopefully no more technical issues for a while!!! Haha
AWESOME Jacob!! The Santa Cruc Boardwalk Is AWESOME!! CAVE TRAIN RIDE RULES!!!... hey Jacob, Go North & Ride The Skunk Train from Willits To Fort Bragg... Don't forget to stop in CLOVERDALE.. We'll gladly set you up here!!! Thanks For The AWESOME Video...SAFE TRAVELS JACOB!!!
Jacob, get to feeling better! :) On a different note, I thought about you today after seeing a post on Chuck E Cheese still using "floppy discs" for program loads in their animatronics today. All of the animatronic videos were so informative that it just blew me away and thought I'd share.
Salinas is my hometown 🙌🏼 I now live in Chattanooga and I’m loving going from watching you in Rock city and Pigeon Forge to now seeing you in where I grew up!!
Definitely one of the better dark rides and I would have gone through a second time as well. You should put together a compilation video of the best or best to worst dark rides from your past adventures 😊
Thank You Jacob 😀You've reminded me of some fun & beautiful memories I have of going to Santa Cruz Boardwalk that I haven't thought of in years !! Safe travels !!🍀🍀
Hey Jacob! I've lived in the SF bay area my whole life, and am pushing 50yrs old, and I don't remember EVER seeing such weather around here! At least not for such a loooooong period of time... CA is really such a mess right now, traffic wise and weather wise and PG&E wise (that's our electric co). I'm so sorry my home state isn't treating you better! I wouldn't even want to make any suggestions to you at this point, lest the storms and floods and power outages ruin something else for you :( I just wanted you to know I'm still watching and pulling for you (and your safety!!) as you brave your way around the state. Take good care - you are fighting the good fight for all of us with wanderlust but no means to wander :)
Hi Jacob! When you are connected to Google maps write down the directions on paper so in case you lose your connection you will have the directions in your hand...I'm here in rainy Ca as well. It's been crazy weather!
I hear ya Jacob. I broke down in the middle of South Dakota. It was no fun but I called a shop, they sent a tow truck. Another time, I finished an adventure at Area 15. I got back to my car and my phone had no internet so i had no idea how I was going to find my hotel. That was a much worse panic attack than breaking down. I was absolutely helpless.
Hi Jacob, If you're still in the area, you might swing by San Jose. The Rosicrucian Egyptian Museum has mummies, a tomb tour, and lots of Egyptian artifacts. The Tech Interactive (Museum) has lots of interactive exhibits on technology that are designed to be fun and educational. The Winchester Mystery House is a classic, but they don't allow photography, so that's a bust for your video, but you would still like the tour.
Glad you had a happy ending to a turbulent day. Some interesting trivia regarding that dancing Sal…if you watch the 1956 Christmas Carol you will see what might be the original mechanical Sal in the toy store window. Thanks Jacob.
While you were in Salinas, you could have visited the Steinbeck house and Library.... Lots of hugs for you and Jen... Things will work out for you in this trip.... We all care for you and hope you'll be having an obstacle free trip soon.... Thank you for sharing your not so good experiences too... It's unusual for a TH-camr to be so transparent.... But oh so welcome. Thank you...
Jacob! Minor correction- that railroad trestle is NOT the trestle used in Lost Boys! Adam the Woo did a video on it, the real bridge is down near Magic Mountain. FWIW, even us kids growing up at the time thought it was the one from the movie... even I thought it was the real deal until way late in life. All the clowns in the haunted walkthrough did remind me though, Killer Klowns from Outer Space was also filmed at the Boardwalk and if you're looking for stuff next time you're around, there are more filming locations in Watsonville.
I remember for years I used to think that was the famous trestle used in the movie too, up until seeing Adam The Woo’s video. I wonder how many people there are that still think the same thing?
I had this exact thing happen during Superstorm Sandy in 2012. I did a factory reset. And that didn't work. My phone started working when the tower came back online! Hugs and encouragement to you💕💜
I’ve never been to the boardwalk! Oh my gosh they have the best haunted ride and haunted house there! Really impressive. You are also the best walkthrough guest ever Jacob 😂 I love your screams haha Thank you for facing the fear on our behalf 👏
My goodness this trip has certainly been filled with things going wrong for you. Glad you were able to get your phone fixed . That is one of the best dark rides I have seen in ages . That carousel is very cool. that haunted walk was very well done. Jump scaring yourself was probably not funny to you but funny to watch . You are hard to get and they got you a few times.Sounds like the beginning of a novel "It was a dark and stormy night" Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Great video Jacob! Loved the dark ride and the Fright Walk. I am a fan of dark rides also. Sorry about your hardships along the way. Hope for happy trails ahead!
I was going to suggest the same. One time in remote Wisconsin my phone gps wasn’t working and it was super stressful. Bought a backup standalone gps so I would never have that stress again. Best $200 I ever spent
Those rings are hard to grap. I jambed up my finger at Knoebels carousel 🎠 and quit trying afterwards. Not worth a messed up finger. Thanks for all the fun videos, despite your bad luck with weather, phone issues and car problems lately. Monterey and Santa Cruz are two places I would love to visit. I haven't yet been to California IRL, so thanks for letting me tag along with you!!

Hi. What a funny story. I can't handle that L A stuff . To many homys there doing that. But I love the boardwalk. Haven't been there in years Want to see All the new stuff. THANKS
Haunted castle is a SALLY Classic, nice to also walk the spots where they filmed "The Lost Boys". One thing about Santa Cruz that everyone should know...Either join the Vampires or Stake 'Em dead! Cya next stop on the road Jacob!
Woe, Jacob! That’s very unfortunate. And what you said on being reliant on tech is true. And its unavoidable. Your experience has highlighted that backup is indeed needed. So, 2 smartphones just in case🤞. I'm thinking too that the issue of "reliability" and "dependability" would justify the cost of an iPhone (for example) but those two factors better be solid. I like the Sta. Cruz boardwalk very well. I've been going there since the 1980s (not weekly, not even yearly tho that would've been nice). So nice to see it again. And the beach!! Just love how big it is (when the tide's out). Well, excelsior Jacob! Be safe!😉
Oh man, Jake, you're a lot stronger than I am! I'd just sit there and scream!! You mentioned you couldn't read a paper map but my thought was "where would you even GET a paper map these days? It's not like you can nip into AM/PM or Extra Mile and ask for one like the old days. So sorry you had to go thru that mess! Too bad the cave train was closed. It's really cute. 💖here is to many more good times!
I used to travel by car up and down the east coast visiting small towns. But I'm disabled and homebound now and these videos help me still enjoy life.
I love roan trips miss them as well. Would love to get out there and do it again. ☝😄
A "No scares on stairs" in March! What a great thing to hear.
I'm a big dark ride fan as well-thanks for the double play!
One thing I’ve noticed about you is when there’s a bump in the road…you still maintain a sunny disposition, and that’s why I love your channel. Best of luck to you Jacob 😊
You're an inspiration to those who run into problems. Very nice video, Jake.
Jacob my friend, there are some days when I just want to give you a hug and tell you everything is going to be okay. Today is one of those days. As always, much love and safe travels.
I second that. We are all behind you Jacob. Thank you for all you do.

There's one thing I wouldn't be able to stand if I was living there, is all the damn vampires.
a gallon of gas and a soda here in CA :D
Thank you!
Man, I get stressed when my phone isn't working while at home. You had all the reason in the world to be stressed while on the road!! Glad it all worked out!!
Jacob, you are seriously the best TH-camr to watch going through dark rides and haunted houses!
Jacob I send you good vibes all the time. But today I send you a double whammy of good vibes. best of luck video buddy.
I've gone through a tough time recently with my job and Jacob's videos have been a beacon of light I've looked forward to each day. I so very much enjoy his adventures and the positive tone in which they are done. Thank you so much Jacob.

Thanx for sharing this one.
I never knew much about the Santa Cruz boardwalk before.. looks like fun though.
I haven’t been to the boardwalk in 30 years but it’s barely changed! That was a fun nostalgia trip.
I've been in this situation it was a nightmare. You don't realise how much you need your phone until you're in a situation like that
Happy to know you're well and wishing you a great journey!
Just because your story and experience is different than others it doesn’t make it any less relevant We love you Jacob!
You mean “relevant” not “irrelevant”…. 🤷♂️
@@gstevens6948 yeahhhhh auto correct.
Loved Santa Cruz Boardwalk! We went to the theater to see the Lost Boys 10 times when I was a teenager! Love the carousel! Gorgeous horses!!!
Really praying for you to have better days! Nice to see your persistence!

I love it when you say “Hello” while in a haunted house 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Sounds like you need a business phone and a personal phone now Mr Bagger
My anxiety would definitely take me to the same place. I am glad everything worked out for you.
I am so happy that everything worked out okay for you, Jacob
Dark rides makes everything better Jacob Can’t wait for our next adventure

I love Santa Cruz bored walk. So many memories
So neat to see a real ring grabbing carousel! Wow.
Oh man I suspected you would be here next after last video. Would of loved to meet you. Safe travels.

Please go to the Hearst Castle, always wanted to go there.
Happy you got your phone fixed….Thank You for your videos they are very much appreciated…sending massive good vibes out to you!!!
You should get a GPS for your car as a backup. (TomTom are good)
I was going to suggest the same.
Ouch! I love the Grand Carousel at Knoebels🎠 I like to ride a jumper and those are usually on the inside. So no brass ring for me!
I hear you Jacob. It's amazing how we're dependent on technology.
Glad to see everything worked out. 😊
Bridge you showed wasnt from lost boys. Took this from the 30th anniversary guide from Santa Cruz.

Carpetbagger and dark rides...2 of my favorite things. 🤩😍
Hi there Jacob I hope you are well... Glad you are all sorted now!!!!. Lovely to see you as always.. Stay safe XX
Hi Love you both XXXXX
So happy your day turned out okay I am like you I depend on my phone everyday so happy for you that you got to do something today very happy that your lights was on thank you for sharing your video sending lots of love to you stay safe
Carpetbagger, you’re the best!
Hollywood should hire Jacob and make his scream the new wilhelm scream. I always look forward to your screams when you visit dark rides.😆
Dollywood carousel has the ring toss feature also
Hi.
What a funny story. I can't handle that L A stuff . To many homys there doing that. But I love the boardwalk. Haven't been there in years Want to see All the new stuff. THANKS
Lots of fun. Next time you go there be sure to shoot the bazooka that shoots tennis balls. It's a gasser.
I’m glad you got your problems fixed 👍. Thanks for your adventures
Be safe!😉
You should visit the Seymour center in Santa Cruz. A full blue whale skeleton on display. Welcome to our area!
"Well, This was fun, now everything is over" LOL That escalated quickly.
That Haunted Castle was a nice blend of Disney's Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Mr. Toads Wild ride (the hot scene with the devil). Thanks for taking us with you, Jake!
💜🕊💜Carpetbagger God Bless 💜🕊💜
That isn't the lost boys bridge. It's in Santa Clarita.
In addition to The Lost Boys, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk also played a key role in the grisly finale of Clint Eastwood's Dirty Harry movie "Sudden Impact" (1983.) And more recently, in Jordan Peele's "Us."
Hey Jacob, your not alone...I too go to the absolute worst senerio when it comes to life's kerfuffles ✌️❤️🙂 safe travels my friend.
In my opinion, this Laughing Sal is even better than the Laughing Sal in San Francisco. That being said, I absolutely love that both of them have been preserved!
Jacob. As Bilbo's poem for Aragon says, " not all those who wander are lost". You can do this. By the way, I recommend, when you can, get a book about how to read a map.
You need a physical compass, and paper maps. Get an old scouting book or adventures in camping, which is a royal rangers book from the assemblies of God boys program. It has a really good basic chapter on orienteering which is map reading and a good chapter on compass reading. As a back up.
I partially grew up in the Bay Area & miss the "Lost Boys park" (Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk.) Stay safe, Jacob.
After a complex day you had soooo much fun 🌟 ⭐ 🌠
Well your day started out scary and ended scary Jacob lol. Our phones are our lives crazy when they don’t function. Happy your day ended well😎
Safe travels jacob
Ugh the time your in my area an I'm not over there, glad you got your phones working I hope you grabbed a Sandehich and some Deep Fried Arrichoke Hearts from The Giant Artichoke, they are quite fantastic.
One thing I never liked about living in Santa Cruz is all the damn vampires.
What about going to Hearst Castle?
I've enjoyed your videos.
That is a great rollercoaster I love the giant dipper
Hello from Gatlinburg TN Smoky Mountains Park..Saw Dolly at the Dollywood'opening yesterday and you'd love it ... goosebumps baby ...🏞️🌄🦋
