Thing is I used Lenovo laptop (with plastic covering and not metallic one) for 7-8 years but it works pretty well even now, no scratches, no hinge issues, etc. The only thing that began troubling me was the laptop's speed which is why I'm finally getting hp 15s by tomorrow (which is within my budget range) and I still hope that the plastic covering would not make a difference even now.
Was using a 10 year old plastic Sony Vaio until very recently. Same experience as yours. You can speed up your old laptop with a RAM and SSD upgrade btw. Its very easy and the changes are phenomenal.
My laptop is as thick as class 12 th rd sharma maths. My laptop weighs 3 kg I open it and after 30 mins it will open completely so that i can do something without any lagging.

Perfect video. I wish I had it ten years back when I was trying to buy my first laptop. Back then you didn't have any online options and we had to go to the physical shops. I was in the first semester of my college and already in awe of a macbook air that a batchmate had. However, I didn't have the budget to buy but I still wanted to buy a good laptop. I did all the online research but it wasn't that helpful. So, I started to accompany anyone who was going to buy laptops 😁 I took a lot of visit and saw a lot of different laptop as part of these visits. Then it happened, love at first sight. I saw the newly launched ho pavilion dm4 😂. It was a beauty, had a feel of Apple macbook air but a bit cheap. I still had to beg for that huge 50k but I ended up with. The laptop was a metallic body and the perfect partner. Lots of movies, lots of studies and a lot more of research for next five years. It was the perfect friend and savior. It survived a lot crashes, both physically and technologically. But it was worth it. Thanks for the video, it just got me thinking about those good times 😁
if u want the stability of Mac on a windows machine, Dual Boot Linux for coding.... I only use windows when i have to game... for coding, Linux is super stable.
