I bought one of those cordless battery powered vacuums that looks like an upright vacuum cleaner and it's the best thing I've ever done. I chucked those damn hoses in the trash those things are like torture.
You can also just toss the hose out with your hand covering the end part that you would usually connect to the skimmer outside pool creating a sucktion your backyard would get a little wet depending how long you vaccum water level will go down afd more water
Exactly how I do it! Pump on, vacuum head flat to the bottom, hold vacuum cap to return and when you see bubbles surface, it's primed. Then just put it over skimmer basket and go.
But what I don't like about these is that then the leaves go into your pump and you have old leaves decomposing in your pump and filling it up. They need to put some sort of filter leaf catch on these. I don't understand how they don't have these.
Thanks for the great videos. Really helpful indeed. I have to ask, regarding pool vacuuming. I find when I clean (vinyl covered pool), the suction becomes so much that my cleaner gets literally stuck on the bottom of my pool, and then I have to jump in and release it. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.

Which vacuum did you get?
Look into a vacuum cap to go over the skimmer pot so it can filter out some of the debris

I like this better than those robots tbh.
Straight to the filter with no strain basket? Idk man
Agreed. I put those "T-shirt socks" over the basket. Unclogging the skimmer line is a crappy job.
You can use the return to fill the hose with water

@@changet2172when you put it over the skimmer, do you close that device (vacuum) in the bottom of the skimmer?

Can you clog your skimmer that way? Without a filter?
How to vacuum floculant from the pool ? Can u help ?
PLUGGING DIRECTLY INTO THE SKIMMER HOLE CAN BE A VERY COSTLY MISTAKE!
Hey guys, what does SS and DS mean on pipes? Shallow skimmer and drain skimmer?
Maybe shallow end skimmer and deep end skimmer

@@airmanship82 you have to get the vac heads that have the brushes at the bottom. Can’t use the normal vac heads with the wheels.
@@DrewMIATL that's the one I have. Thanks for the reply.
@@airmanship82 yep no problem. It might be because the suction is too strong
