Definitely try A Fate Inked in Blood, I read it and has already preordered the second book. if you like the show Viking you will love this book. Yes, move this book up the list.
Fantasy is not my preferred genre, but it has the prettiest books. My daughter is flying through the Powerless series and she has requested that I pre order the third book. She wrote down all the book series that she wants to read this year. The list included 161 books.
I agree the Fantasy books have gorgeous editions (especially the box subscriptions like Fairyloot! ) but I don’t read many Fantasies anymore ;) Love that your daughter is a reader! What fun!
Since Hurricane Wars didn't come out with a special edition, I'm not in any hurry to grab the second one. It's on my reading list for the year. I have Powerless, but haven't read it.
I really enjoyed the first book & novella of Powerless. The second book was disappointing but still decent. However, the ending….I need book three!!!! Highly recommend listening to the audiobooks. It’s a fun YA fantasy ride!
I have around six or so novels that have sequels coming soon, so I have made those the top priority on my TBR and where possible I’ve found them on audio at my library so I can be working through them while I do other things, just to make sure I can buy the sequel with confidence. Especially if buying new, I perhaps bend these rules if thrifting.
I want to read hurricane wars and maybe a fate ink in blood. But I haven't bought them yet. If you buy a book and it has beautiful edges. You can always display it as art. And. FYI. When I pre-order onx storm...my card has since expired and I thought amazon automatically updated my card payment when I updated my card but that isn't what happened. So it is not coming to me till Friday 😢
Yes! You definitely need to read the first book in the series. I know nothing about these stories. So, I will suggest you read the last book you showed us with the metallic sprayed edges. That way you will still have time to get the next special edition. By the way, I finished PROJECT HAIL MARY last night…⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I LOVED IT. Thank you for your referral. 🎵 It’s been a Hard Day’s Night 🎶 😜👍🏼
I haven't read any of those books. But, if I buy a book that I've heard good things about and there's more in the series out I try to buy them as well so I have all of them at once.
I enjoyednTainted Cup- it's a fantasy murder mystery. A Fate Inked in Blood I have mixed feelings. I like a strong female character in fantasy and Viking inspired. I felt that the twist at the end wasn't a twist as it was super obvious and it really toes the line for adultery, which I didn't like.
I’m in the middle of a lot of series, but they are mysteries ;) I loved the Tainted Cup when I was reading it, but I can’t remember what it is about. I’ve heard book #2 is not as good. I think #1 is fine as a standalone, but I will try #2.
I would start with A Fate Inked in Blood - you definitely want those metallic edges on the sequel! I have heard good things about it too.
You should do a vlog video of reading these and then determining if you will continue!

Yep, I’m right where you are.
Powerless is so good!

Maybe you could read 5 chapters in that last one too get a feel of you'll like it, then decide on time to get the first run.
I am so proud of you Sarah! I was one door over from a Half Price Books and I didn't go in!
What's great idea. I should do it too!! Thank you.
I want to hear your thoughts on Powerless. Mostly because I have already bought Reckless. 😊.

The Tainted Cup was great!
Yes read A Fate Inked in Blood soon. I started Five Broken Blades last night and stayed up way too late listening.
I preferred the Red Queen series over Powerless.

It's hard to walk away from a pretty book.
