I flashed the product line at the end instead of beginning. 😀Let me know what you would like to see in videos after these, and remember to subscribe and comment to be entered for a giveaway!
This looks like a good stone. Cuts quick. Nice it has great feedback. 😊👍🔪🔪🔪 Interesting watching the loading. Great video info as usual. That was interesting info about the gouges in your thinning part. It can effect push cut.
The loading seems to depend on the pressure of coarse, but also it seemed to not affect the cutting at all. I of course didn't let it load forever, but it was interesting how sometimes it seemed to mostly wipe off, yet if I left it too long it stayed. I may try to use more water next time as I go (I used to obsessively add water as I went lol) and see if it helps prevent that as much, but again, it didn't have any bad effects on sharpening. Those gouges, I think in the still shot of the bevel at the end, you can see 1 of the tiny gouges that are there. It always seems to have problems push cutting in those areas no matter what I sharpen that particular knife with. I plan to thin it some more down the road to completely wipe those out. I really wish this knife was better, but it will get there as I force it to! lol
I can't remember if i asked if you. Do you have the chosera 3k. A side by side with that and the glass 3k. And the Altstone. A 3k shoot out. The more excited you get with these stones gets me excited and smiling. Nice to see new affordable stones on the scene! 😝👊🔪🔪🔪 I am excited for the 5k and 8k reviews.🥳🥳🥳
You actually hadn't asked me that yet, but yes, I do have the Chosera 3k, well sort of. lol I loaned it to a chef friend of mine who has not returned it yet. This has been some time now, maybe almost 3 months. I need to ask him to bring it back! lol I would love to do the Chosera vs. ALTSTONE! These stones do have me excited for sure. It's not very often in a market you love that you find something that isn't super expensive, but performs like something 4 times the price!
Thank you so much, got you entered in the giveaway as well for Monday! They are definitely great stones, and at the prices they are, it's hard to pass up.
Yes, these are extremely different. The CERAX ones as you mentioned are hard and extremely rough. The ALTSTONE variants are the exact same as the stone's grit and feel, or are at least super close. They do a great job at dressing the surface after using a lapping plate as well as cleaning the stone.
You can get these on Amazon, here is a link to them. www.amazon.com/dp/B0DCSQBW1L It appears that since my videos have gone up they are selling rather quickly. This link is for the 300, but the others will be back in stock shortly. I found some on eBay, but they are more expensive there. I can keep you updated on stock arrival, as well as let me ask them where else they can be purchased.
This sounds great! I do not yet have the Hybiki 8k, but I will order soon. I do have the Shapton Glass 8k, and a King Ice Bear 8k, of course the ALTSTONE 8k and Shapton Kuromaku 8k. Maybe I could do them all!

Are those Nagura stones different than the cerax dressing stones that look smaller and harder?
