You have to have 2 entry
Yeah that upstairs area is definitely an in-law space, or for an adult kid still living at home. You can always add a door to the second floor living room to make it into an additional bedroom.
Single family. Closet on first floor had steps to upstairs cut off so maybe the investor and GC were too cheap or lazy to remove. I thought each unit needs two entrances (fire safety code.) unless there’s some clause grandfathered in somewhere.

Nice for collage aged children still living at home or extended relatives all in the family type home.
But 400,000 you can do much better in a nicer neighborhood too.

This is what was called an in-law unit. I grew up in one in Englewood. The basement was 6 inches below legal for an apartment but we drywalled and added bedrooms and a rec room anyway. Sold and moved in the 80's but as of 2019 I know was still standing and occupied.

That's definitely a single family home and not a 2 flat. Can't rent it out because the unit must have a separate ingress and egress.

Wow. 400k for that? Where the average household income is 70k -90k? Here in madison ms the average household income is 170k you can get some much more. I kinda see why so many people from up north and from Texas are moving here.

Man if this is on 65st and rockwell I would be weary of the house next door. I lived in thr building. But that house next door is trouble. Nothing but noisy and reckless people in the other house. If you want to car scratched by all means live here lol😂. I swear that family in that house always causing trouble and mean mugging everyone came to visit me. Smfh like they owened the block.
It seems to me that there should be two doors in the upstairs unit even if only as a safety thing if there's a fire. I've noticed that in Chicago properties, the bathroom sequence is almost always tub, vanity, toilet, door. In Phoenix, it always seems to be tub, toilet, vanity, door. Different codes? Coincidence? Hmmmm.
400k for a property in one of the worst areas in Chicago Lawndale is a hot mess ccmhexk the crime in area.

Yup, definitely 65st and rockwell. I swear this block was chaotic because of the people in that house next door. Thugs ima be real. I always caught sitting on my car. Like wtf. Sit on your car. Always blocking the street talking to people causing traffic. It happened a lot. Then I would hear the horns from people and they would still make them wait. They also love throwing glass bottles of dousible or whatever it's called on the street. So watch your tires. They love to put their music on blast and chill all over the corner causing mad trouble. It's great block without them there. I'm being sincerely honest. I wouldn't have mind living there if it weren't for them. Truly annoying people. Causing trouble and tossing trash on everyone's property. It's really ignorant when they try to mean mug you if they never seen you before. They did that a lot to my visitors. Yup f them. Sorry not sorry. The only person that was nice in that house was the old lady. Everyone else he'll noooooooo. Just low life thugs

That’s bad ! First floor- 2bdrm neither are master, the floors should have been redone or at least Shellacked. Second floor- those cabinets cheap and suck ! Bad investment! How dare you sign off on this property! Would you live in it ? Put your signature on things that are worth it! This is a no!

Only thing I’m saying to you is as a realtor, when you show a property for selling and it’s nice all around, when people are looking for a good realtor, it’s by word of mouth. I’m saying attach your name to some extremely nice property.
That house reminds me of the houses west of Ashland in the 7700 block. And it’s not roomy at all.
