      I enjoyed your video. It is now 6 months later, and the software update to "single-pull' has now downloaded itself. And the system is completely different with single-pull. I don't dislike the new system, but it represents a complete change, and I can't see that anyone has done a video on that. I like the single-pull mode, but it is a huge change in driving habits, particularly changing lanes on the freeway or passing someone. It seems that using the left turn signal does something different that activating the right turn signal. And I no longer know how to trigger Traffic Aware Cruise Control by itself. Since you did such a nice job on this video, I would enourage you to do a new video to highlight the changes that all or most of us have seen since you did the original video. Thanks!

    While in autopilot mode, I found that you have to move the left stalk directional signals further, if you want to change lanes, or auto steering will resist your lane changing.

    Hi, Thanks for this very useful tip. I think this is another reason for keeping column stalk controls. Not quite as essential as the indicator one for use on our roundabouts - there you have to change indicators when leaving with the steering wheel still turned to go round the roundabout. We don't want change for the sake of change, and with safety related matters not for value engineering either. I'd pay to keep stalks. Sandy Munro talks about saving millions of dollars by removing some extraneous items, but if you keep them and charge for them that's not so true. The extra cost to the purchaser is trivial.

    At 3.40 timesstamp you said when we put on blinker to change lane, it would disable the autopilot mode. Is this really true? I doubt it worked on my MYLR. I have to disable it on my car every-time I need to change lane. Thanks!!

    • @Myksgarage
      @Myksgarage  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      When you change lanes it disables the auto steer, cruise control remains active, so you have to double click the stalk twice to re-engage the auto steer

    Does the "soft pushes" work for resetting the speed limit? Seems like a long, hard push works. Soft push didn't seem to work but didn't want to continue going 55 in a 35mph speed limit zone waiting to see if the Autopilot speed limit would change.

    Nice video. However, this implementation of "adaptive cruise control" (what every other manufacturer calls it has a MAJOR safety flaw. (I hope Tesla engineers read this - it could cause an accident - are you listening???) When you activate the turn signal for a lane change (on my new LR model Y) it does not disengage auto steer. You then override the auto steer to get in the next lane, and when you do, the entire autopilot disengages, causing you to slow down unless you are quick with the accelerator pedal. If you were being tailgated, this could cause you to be rear-ended before you were completely in the next lane. Incredibly bad/dangerous design IMHO. Tesla: FIX IT

    • @Myksgarage
      @Myksgarage  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Mine only disengages the auto steer, the cruise is still activated and I just have to reactivate the auto steer

    • @BobbieGWhiz
      @BobbieGWhiz 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Without discounting your concern, I haven’t found this to be a problem whatsoever. You simply take over driving during the lane change and then re-engage autopilot. To be clear, I’m not an apologist for Tesla.

      I came here because I have a Model Y loaner while my old school 2015 Model S is in the shop. With my Autopilot 1.0 Beta the turn signal automatically changes lanes and settles in the new lane with both cruise control and auto steer engaged. If as you say the Y doesn’t do that then I’m going to miss my S.
      My biggest safety scare with autopilot is that in my 2015 Model S when driving alongside 18 wheelers it drifts a little too close to the line for my taste. One time the trailer got close to the line also and the car gave a red alert and I panicked and pulled away. Except with the steering wheel locked it took force to manually override auto steer which made me overcompensate and head towards the lane to my left. Had a car been there I would have caused an accident. No autopilot near big rigs anymore.
