They captured the essence and feel of One Piece, which I think is essential for live action adaptation. it doesn't have to be 1:1, but it has to be truthful, and they did it beautifully.
Keep in mind that this is essentially a prequel, 90% of the story takes place in the Grand Line so stuff is just about to go down seriously. Your reaction was so fun as a fan of the manga and you really got the spirit of the series which is possibly the greatest praise to this adaptation. I'd say that the main thing you missed is that not everyone has a Devil Fruit, usually if they do the show straight up tells you, like with Buggy. People like Garp, Shanks, Mihawk are just that strong. You're going to love season 2, so many epic moments ahead!
I'm glad they got to read your comment. This info is going to prepare them better for what is to come. The One Piece Universe has outstanding characters that can achieve massive feats through training. There's other sources of power as well besides training and Devil Fruits, but that's a story for the future 🙂
Devil fruit powers are all transformations and that's usually how you can tell. The characters who don't eat devil fruits in this series are stronger because they can swim
@@tomspoli looking back after all these years, "Romance Dawn" is such a great and fitting title for the beginning of this story. Never actually thought about it before, but now that I see it... oh, man. The feels.
18:57 When Mihawk saw luffy he commented that he liked his Hat. Now we see that Mihawk recognized it as Shanks Hat. And that Shanks had told him about Luffy in the past which likely colored his decision to let Luffy go.
@@HullsColbyAre there no
xyxy
tags on yt? Test:
test successful
Edit: Doesn't seem so, but at least you could wrap your text in those warning tags!
Garp hasn’t eaten a fruit. That’s all brute strength and speed, earned through training. He’s a top tier in the One Piece world, and that’s even after losing a step to age.
Pretty much, yeah. Arlong was a struggle for Luffy, but Garp could've easily decimated him in a one-on-one fight. That just shows how tough future enemies are going to be...
@@erubin100 Arlong was light work for Luffy, if he wasn't tossed into the sea anime Luffy wouldn't have struggled at all. In fact, Luffy immediately breaks his sword and ends the fight after he finally gets serious. Live action is the only place Arlong was a menace, he was light work in the manga too if I remember correctly. Luffy pretty much felt invincible in both anime and manga until he met Crocodile
@@SuryaGupta-te7fq Exactly right. Luffy basically low-diffed the East Blue in the anime/manga. There were times during the Arlong fight where he almost seemed to be struggling to take it seriously.
There's also a secondary power system that's already been hinted at multiple times. I'm not sure when they'll mention it in the live action, but it shouldn't be for quite a while. Another season or two
@@AltoAterna it was not mentioned, but there are a lot of hints in it, don't wanna spoil the non-readers or non-anime watchers but there's a subtle instances they show the effects of it..
It's also very close to the official title of volume 11 of the manga, meaning that the first and last episodes of the live action got the titles of their respective volumes.
I'm gonna sorely miss you guys watching this. I hope your "crew" achieves your dreams together to be kings of youtube! I will continue to get your bounty up by sharing and posting advertisements!
The fact that you guys loved this so much goes to show that this show wasn't only a great adaptation, but a great tv show on its own. Matt Owens went to Japan and spoke directly with the manga creator and told him his life story and his plans for the live action. Only then Oda accepted it and agreed to finally have it done.
I like the fact that Dave look so calm and compose in the first few episodes because of his nature. But in the end, he looks the most hyped and out of his mind about the series 😂😂
In the anime, Arlong was even meaner to Nami. He taunted her, that she started gathering all that money when she was a little child, and now, that she's older, she can just do it again in even less time with her experience. Just get another 100 Mio Berry, haha 🤐
I really hated Arlong since child, but who knew that many years later in my 20s I get to have a soft spot towards him. He's "just" a huge racist, but he loved his crew and people. Sucks there's no Hatchi in this live action.
“Be Luffy” - That is a beautiful sentiment and lesson to take away from this series. I’d been waiting excitedly for this reaction to episode 8 from you guys and I’m so happy you loved it and felt so warm and satisfied with that ending. I love that last scene where the Straw Hats, finally fully united and free of the doubts and baggage of their tragic pasts, reaffirm their lifelong dreams and, like Zeff said to Sanji, actually *go after* their dreams. So beautiful, and so inspiring. One Piece live-action was really a gift!
So glad you guys enjoyed it. I've been a one piece fan for 10+ years and it's always so great to see new people getting into the series. One thing I feel that the live action didn't mention is that Devil Fruits are VERY rare, and that there's only one kind of each Devil Fruit power. So, if you want that other person's power, you'll have to kill them (the fruit will regenerate somewhere, you have to find it and eat it). I think people mentioned it in the comments that unless it's explicitly said that the person is a Devil Fruit user, they aren't. The power system in One Piece is super interesting and Devil Fruits is one aspect of the power system.
I found your channel because of these reactions and i gotta say, i love your energy, i love the reactions. Ive been binging all your movie reactions recently. Got a new subscriber in me. Im glad you guys loved the series
So glad you guys have watched this ONE PIECE the anime and manga is my favorite piece of fiction and changed my life and helped me in my worse times truly a masterpiece
One thing you guys probably missed was when mihawk first saw luffy in episode 5 he said "i do like your hat". Meaning that he recognized that the hat used to be shanks's.
i almost cry when the song "we are" started sounding after they say their dreams.. that song was the first intro of the anime... somewhere 20 years ago
Random thing I love about Sanji, he's older than Usopp and Luffy, but he often gets caught up in the hype and let's that smooth, perfectness fall and he gets silly and playful. It's just a nice touch to his character that I always appreciated. He's cool and suave 90% of the time but has those momenta of childishness that just make him much more endearing. (Sanji is my favorite Strawhat).
Love that you guys enjoyed this show like i did. Watched it only 11 times now and rewatch the anime at the moment, never gets boring. Now you have to wait like all the others and i can tell you you will love whats coming next.
Yes, the cast did an IMPECCABLE job with their anime counterparts. It was borderline perfect. When Sanji started talking about the all blue, I was like, "yep yep, rhey got him! That's Sanji!"
it’s amazing how taz’s casting was the one that people were super apprehensive and doubtful of when he was announced, and now he ended up being everyone’s favourite and just completely embodied sanji with that natural charisma he has 😭 not to mention that he’s been super open about his martial arts training and culinary classes, plus him being actually the one who suggested to the casting team and matt for craig fairbrass to play as zeff…literally perfect!
I think the biggest difference between the anime and the live-action is the pacing of the show. In the live-action, everything goes fast, which shows how crazy their adventure is within such a short period. We do not realize that cause the anime is so long. However, the slow pacing makes us understand their pain and past so much more than just a little flashback. You can't imagine how much I cried when watching Arlong Park for the first time :)) Love your reaction, and I hope to see you again for ss2
This show is beyond good, it is great! What an amazing surprise and so glad the showrunners decided to work close with Oda instead of doing some weird take on it and ending up an awful flop.
With it hitting #1 in 80+ different countries, I am sure they are gonna bump up the budget a bit. They set the bar so high that if they don't deliver next season, I wouldn't be surprised if the masses rise up and revolt.
@@papazola2677 Though there is a lot about most of the arcs that can be condensed down or moved to different seasons and still have the story make sense.
The last song that was played when it zoomed out at the end was the very first opening song of the anime (We are!)in Orchestra. When i first heard the song i began to cry like a baby. I dont undertsand how a show can wake such emotions
When you guys asked about if Sanji's hitting pressure points, that's actually just Sanji's thing; just like Luffy names his moves after weapons, Sanji names his based on sections of meat like Neck, Shoulder, flank etc Also, Garp doesn't have a fruit power...he is literally a notoriously strong slab of beef
Eiichiro Oda, the author of One Piece is a genius. One Piece on the surface looks like a pirate story for children with fun and happy adventure, but it has a very deep story and can get very dark. Nami's backstory is an example. Season one is only the beginning, an introduction for the main Strawhat members. The real story will start in the Grand Line and it would be so great. I cannot wait for season two. I have been watching your reactions on One Piece live-action, and all are great. From this series, I started watching your reaction to movies and other series. I had fun watching them all. Not to give a spoiler, just a clue. At the post-credit, pay attention to the background music. It is the marine theme. From there, we can tell that the new big bad is from what faction.
I just stumbled over your account and watched all 8 reactions in one go 😂 I really love how you guys don´t know about the One Piece universum but still are so hyped with every episode. Can´t wait for your season 2 reactions ♥ What I absolutely LOVE about One Piece at all is, that not every enemie is an enemie. Almost everyone has their reasons. Even Arlong. Till I knew his story I hated him so much what he did to Nami and Coco Island. But then I was like: "Well.... I get you. I can´t hate you anymore. But still it was not the right thing to do..." Oda did amazing with all the story telling and I´m happy that the live action has so much parallels to the manga and still has their own storyline to tell and I´m all here for it ♥
I’m sure it’s been said already but the fact that’s the creator of one piece was deeply involved in the process, it’s another big reason why the live action was so successful. The creator even had them reshoot some scenes if he didn’t like them. Glad u guys enjoyed it. Season 2 has been confirmed too so 👍
@@Timerooydon't know why people keep bringing it up as it's such a nickpick scene/mistake. I have watched the LA twice now and didn't notice even after hearing about it, so likely neither Oda or the crew of the show noticed too.
“Everyone needs a friend like Luffy.” is exactly why One Piece is the most popular and beloved manga/anime of all time. I’m so glad you guys picked up on this through this adaptation! Please start doing watch through of the anime! It will be good prep for Season 2.
You're 100% right Oak.. We all need a friend like Luffy.. I can't tell you how many times I've been laughed at or not taken seriously whenever I talk about my Dreams.. Like it's an impossible feat or something.. I've never had someone be like "You should do it man. Go for it. I believe in you.." It's hard to take yourself seriously when no one else does..
Am pretty sure someone in the comments clarified this, but Garp is not a devil fruit eater, his skills are just like Mihawk and Shanks, it is natural due to his experience and training over the years. You need to remember, there's a reason he's the most decorated vice admiral and he doesn't fear any pirate. He could hold his own against anyone. Again, experience and training means something in this world, devil's fruit is a cheat code that only goes so far.
One of the many things I love about the live action is that you really feel the attacks. Especially the gattling where it has the right sounds, feedback, and makes mach effects in the air. It looks amazing.
To Oak’s point, Oda (original author of One Piece manga/comic) did in fact made a comment a few years ago about the nationalities of our characters and for a large part they followed through. Luffy is Brazilian, Zoro is Japanese, Usopp is African, Sanji is French, Nami is Swedish
Watched this with my wife and kids. We're actually still in the process of watching the anime and both my wife and older son are reading the manga. We were stoked to see Smoker at the end. I hope this show runs for a long time.
I just want you guys to know that your reaction to this series is like comfort food to me; I've watched it all through at least three times now since you released it and it makes me so happy every time. I've been reading and/or watching One Piece for over 20 years now and I'm just so glad the live action show brought fans like you guys onto our cruise 😊 There's something extremely special about watching your excitement and hype build up over each episode. I love how into it you all were, especially Oak! I'm almost more excited about your eventual reaction to season 2 than I am for season 2 itself, haha!
I'm not mad at Garp for testing Luffy. He does care about him, so he wanted to make sure that he has the guts and determination to hold his own on this journey to come. I can guarantee this show is like nothing you've ever seen before. The characters really do look a lot like they do in the anime. Its so cool! I'm so happy y'all enjoyed it.
2:38 You know it's *PEAK* when the boys got hyped 🔥 Thanks for the awesome reactions! Season 2 is gonna be a long wait.. Can't rush greatness tho. _Let them cook~_
@@mrsfahrenheitno idea, but it would be better for them to perfect the script and it taking a bit of a longer time, than rushing things. the good thing is that the wga strike has ended and we know they’ve continued writing since then ever since it was on hold around may when the strike started.
As someone who’s watched the anime twice ( caught up twice lol), a manga reader, and a huge fan of the live action. I absolutely have to say they did a almost perfect job! Of course there are always going to be things here and there but not notable enough to hate on it. So solid 8.5/10 from me! I was so so happy when y’all started and I genuinely cry every time I watch people react to the live action. One piece helped me so much as a person because I was so lonely and I found my community, I discovered my major through one piece! Once you meet a character name Robin you’ll understand that hehe, yeah they did a great job with this live action and I cannot wait for season two!
I've watched the anime thrice and read the manga all the way up to the current chapter (1096 as of writing this). Solid 9.5/10 from me. They just nailed everything they needed to nail. Only very small critiques from me, and that's just moreso things I wish they'd have kept, like Buggy stabbing Zoro before they figure out his ability, for example.
In the anime there were three major fishmen under Arlong, only two were in the live action probably for pacing and how hard it'd be to pull off. The third was an octopus fishman who wielded 6 swords and was Zoro's opponent. All three fishmen had joke names Lip guy is Chu, the sound for a kiss in Japanese Fishman karate guy is Kuroobi, which is kuro(black) obi(belt) And the octopus fishman was named Hachi, which means eight.
I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR ONE PIECE VIDEO!! Omg I have a meeting in 15 minutes but I don't feel stressed at all, a big smile on my face thanks to you guys! 22:10 "yeah they are probably gonna etc etc .... which doesnt make any sense" 😄😄😄 I love that quote! Thank you very much for your reactions, it was a GREAT ride, you're a nakama now!👒 (nakama = crewmate/friend/comerade)
Glad you guys enjoyed this series, and Dave giving it 5/5 stars says it all! I won't give any spoilers but fun fact, the food sanji or the actor Taz Skylar served during the party scene was actually cooked by him as part of his training, he also cooked the meals of all the staffs during break time...
I honestly really love Garp. As soon as I learned he was Luffy's grandpa, I didn't see him as a villain, but as a grandpa trying to protect his grandson from the dangers out there the only way he knew how. Maybe it was growing up on the East Coast with an old-school, blue-collar dad, but I got it. Him and Zeff, tough love is the only way they know how to communicate.
Im so glad you all think its a 5! I never read or watched the manga or anime, its my first time watching One Piece and I ❤️ the show sooo much!! I love the story, characters, pacing, the action, the sets, the humor, everything is so awesome. Can't wait for season 2!
Honestly one of my favorite scenes from the first season is the cast off ceremony. Plus if you look back at the season the creators literally waited until the very end before using the theme song from the anime. So, yeah, you can’t imagine the hype feeling you get hearing the famous opening theme song from the anime at the end. 😂 It was really smart to do that. They held off until the perfect moment-after the cast off ceremony after some of the main cast was introduced. 🎇
"We Are" was used briefly at the end of episode 4 when the Going Merry left Syrup Village so the end wasn't the first time hearing it in the live action. Still a great time to use it though. I hope they adapt the other opening themes as the show goes on.
The episode title "Worst in the East" refers to Luffy. He receives his bounty at the end of the episode, which is the highest in the East blue. So to the Marines and common folk, Luffy is now "The worst in the East".
@thegrandwombat8797 That's a nice thought but I assure you, it's in reference to Luffy. That title is the same title as manga Chapter 96, and in that Chapter Luffy sees his wanted poster for the first time. Arlong isn't even in that Chapter at all
It is wonderful seeing how many people are finding just how GOOD Oda's writing is through this amazing adaptation, and this is all just the prologue to the real story. Wonderful reactions all around! On trivia that hasn't been commented to death on already, Sanji's move callouts? They are all cooking terms, usually a cut of meat associated with whatever body part he's hitting.
Luffy's outlook and energy inspired me to better myself as a person when I was watching the anime and seeing the adoption in this live action, they did an incredible job - cannot wait for the second season! These actors were absolutely made for these characters, they helped bring this to life and watching your reaction was a great experience too - thank you.
Just to point out that the marines would have rounded up all the fish-men pirates so essentially he would have got arrested by the marines, unless he found a way to escape the island.
My reaction to this episode? The whole ending with the wanted poster and the castoff ceremony had me in literal tears, though I'm a huge One Piece fanboy so that was expected :D
The series has been going 20+ years and as a Shonen there's always going to be power scaling but Garp, Mihawk, Shanks are all REALLY that strong(any one of them could just blip any of the crews we saw in season 1 out of existence). Oda(manga author) did a pretty good job establishing early that if you weren't a pirate on the Grandline or later you really weren't anything. It's another reason why the full force of the Marine's just don't automatically crush a pirate....they're busy dealing with "real" threats and Luffy and his crew are the equivalent of ants to them. IMO it's one of the best parts of the series is you get to see this group who feel like real big fish in East Blue discover that the world is a much bigger and deadlier place then they ever assumed and seeing them grow to be part of it as they chase their dreams is magical.
Like you, I was also new to the world of One Piece before this live action series, and I really loved everything about it. I can't wait to see what season 2 brings us. I really liked all the characters, especially Mihawk. He was just so awesome, and I was really intrigued by the fact, that Shanks just casually told the world's greatest swordsman that "I can still take you"... That says something about Shanks's strength and skill level.
As an anime watcher myself i was very pleased on how well this show was made, they did a great job as they had to cover about 60 episodes from the anime into these 8 episodes of the live action. They did it well and im really excited for season 2, and i had a great time watching your reactions and that you guys had a great time watching this, cant wait for the next season to come and watch it, and watch your reactions to it aswell
Special mention to the actor's hard work, they did most of their cascades and fighting scenes. Especially Sanji's actor, Taz Skylar, who trained hard in martial arts and cooking for his role!
taz training for 8-10 hours almost everyday AND going to culinary classes AND helping out the catering team by assisting them in cooking and serving is honestly insane. he is DEDICATED and we love him for it!
"I'm gonna be cheering for Buggy." Bruh he is the dictionary picture of the term "falling up" his character arc is amazing and Oda himself said he was his favorite to write. His story only gets better from here on out.
Great great great reaction and analysis, mates. It's touching and profound. I'm reading One Piece since 2001 and I love to see people like you catching the essence of this masterpiece: it's going to be a big, epic, meaningful and universal story, just like Iliad or LotR. When Luffy and his crew say friends, in the original they actually say nakama (仲間), which means friends/comrades, even more powerful than friendship.
From all people i see reacting to this show, you guys are my favorite. I'm a One Piece fan for 11 Years and i love to see newcomers discovering this amazing story. At first, everybody thinks it's an unfinished goofy pirate story with a 1000+ episodes... And it is! But, the dept and world building this story has is unmatched in anime/manga history. You guys just touched like 0.1% of what this story really is. Great things are coming!
I’m very happy you guys watched this and not only that but enjoyed it, I think they were faithful, this series helped me through some tough times and I hope you guys get into the anime in the future!
So glad you liked it. So good to hear your opinions. The Oak, you are right, we should be more like Luffy. Thank you for always seeing the lesson the story tries to convey 🧡
This was amazing! I never thought i would love a tv show so much. I love watching you guys react every episode. Thank you for reacting One Piece. Can't wait for next season 😃🎉🎉🎉
I've never been so happy to see someone's face on a wanted poster LMAO it felt so ridiculous 'cause I was genuinely glad and so was the other characters 😂😂
@@Sif3r They don't necessarily need to watch 1000+ episodes. They can just watch the first 45 episodes and are then on the same standing as the live action is and stop there, so they don't get spoiled for season 2 of the live action °J°
Or if you’re pressed for time, watch the East Blue Saga Movie, which is pretty much a 2 hour recap of the episodes of the 4 characters up until pretty much where the LA ends. (Of course, watching all the episodes is the preferred method).
I just recently started watching the anime bc I saw the adds for the live action and I got intrigued. Now I am loving both the anime and the live action. I def want to read the manga. One thing that really got me is Luffy’s loyalty to his friends and even though he can get in some sticky situations I still would love for him to be my captain and friend…. On another note, I want to say I appreciate y’all being honest and genuine with your reactions. I also appreciate your commentary.
They did an amazing job capturing the heart of the manga and anime. Even with them cutting out some pretty cool scenes, they still did great conveying the story! I really think you guys should watch the big moments in the anime and just compare them to the live action. I think if you guys do, you'll see how great if a job they did remaking these scenes in live-action.
it was so so so fun watching you guys react to this!! I've known this show since i was a kid but never actually watched the whole thing, after watching this Live Action it made me wanna start properly watching the anime! I wanted to say the cast was chosen by the actual writer of the comic, i think that's a big reason why they feel just SO RIGHT! cant wait for season two~

I hope that you are all doing well and that you'll do a take on s2 when it releases :)
I need season 2 soon! The show is amazing and I love seeing you guys react to it. It is incredibly refreshing to see people who have stayed away from spoilers embarking on this cruise ❤
"Be a good Marine- -Be a good Pirate" Having followed One piece for over 20 years, this moment hits different! No kapp, this moment (in anime) taught me that there are good and bad people on both sides (something that activists dont know).
This year was the year of One Piece, we got BIG moments from the manga to the anime, and now live action! And to end the year off, A Luffy float will be seen at the Macys thanksgiving parade! The world is now on the cruise!
So excited for season 2!! Thank you so much for your reactions, it's so fun to watch you guys feel for these characters :D I think the writers for this series did so good and I know whatever comes next will be just as good and even better!!
A fantastic reaction to the finale of the season. It's fun watching you guys, and listening to your thoughts seeing everything for the first time. I especially liked Oak and his comments about lessons, as i do think that if a TV show, a movie can get you to think, or want to start a discussion... even as the series/story is still going on... that's good storytelling. Quite a few people had doubts before this series aired, however as the series went on, i think those fears were pretty much gone as this has turned out to be a great adaptation. And for me, personally, if anything this has made me even more excited for the upcoming projects they have. I don't know if you know, but Netflix is making an upcoming live action Avatar The Last Air Bender series (as well as a Yu Yu Hakusho series, which is yet another beloved anime series), and i was wondering if you would be watching those when they come out?
“There’s so much power in other people believing in you” seriously awesome observation here. That’s one of the main themes of the Manga/Anime and now live action and I honestly haven’t seen anyone else really touch on that.
I love that they took the spirit of the anime. Like the cooldown/party after a big fight or arc. And that netflix series covers around 45 Episodes in the anime! Just over 1000 to go. lets gooooo
To Oak and his question: I am a big One Piece fan since my childhood and the crew actors are phenomenal. Really fitting and you can feel the synergy like in the Anime. Also some of them are Anime or One Piece fans (Nami for example). Buggy is perfect, mihawk too, shanks is alright something missing with him but he got not much screen time in the next like 500 episodes anyway :D But there is one thing I realised watching your reaction in english. I watch the anime in japanese but in my childhood it was dubbed in my native language with our amazing german voice actors. For me hearing the nostalgic voices I am used too made a huge difference. Thats just on my side, they did a great job in english and dubbing with the original japanese voices wouldnt fit. Amazing show. Netflix shows what they can do. Now we just hope that Eiichiro oda dont let netflix do their own stuff because we know they will fuck it up.
given how the first season was a massive success even with netflix deciding to cut it down from 10 to 8 eps, i bet they’ll give the team more leeway honestly. matt owens and randy troy are part of the writing team too so i have no doubt we’re gonna get alabasta and vivi done right!
@@hellbunniez3 as long as oda still overwatch the production and tells them how to do it. I mean the story is there. They just need to rewrite it a bit to bring it too live action
I hope you guys remember that in eps 5, before fighting Zoro, Mihawk looked at Luffy and commented on his straw hat. Mihawk already knew Luffy from Shank, that's why he knew Luffy was Garp's grandson.
The thing with kolby refusing order sparked interest in GARP because in the previous episodes. He mentioned that he could of been Head Admiral of the marines but he turned it down because then he would have to follow orders. Garp is a trail blazer and thats what he saw in young kolby and helmeppo.
AAAAH it's been incredible to re-watch (in this case for me) every episode with you guys. I honestly feel so happy every time Dave got so fired up 😭😭 Because that's exactly how I felt too. Thank you so much for all the reactions!

Matt Owens went to Japan and spoke directly with the manga creator and told him his life story and his plans for the live action.
Only then Oda accepted it and agreed to finally have it done.
and it still took about 7 years to accomplish. Its always worth the wait.

I like the fact that Dave look so calm and compose in the first few episodes because of his nature. But in the end, he looks the most hyped and out of his mind about the series 😂😂
Fr he was locked in 🔐
Diamond Dave's 5/5 was a pleasant surprise lmao
This was a fantastic surprise of show.
No spoilers but I have a feeling yall are gonna like the character that was teased at the end! Can't wait for season 2!

He might be older, but not by much. It's not like Luffy is 17 and Sanji is 30 or something xD Luffy is 17 and Sanji is 19.

Yes, the cast did an IMPECCABLE job with their anime counterparts. It was borderline perfect. When Sanji started talking about the all blue, I was like, "yep yep, rhey got him! That's Sanji!"
The way his eyes genuinely sparkled as if he was actually talking about his own dreams.
it’s amazing how taz’s casting was the one that people were super apprehensive and doubtful of when he was announced, and now he ended up being everyone’s favourite and just completely embodied sanji with that natural charisma he has 😭 not to mention that he’s been super open about his martial arts training and culinary classes, plus him being actually the one who suggested to the casting team and matt for craig fairbrass to play as zeff…literally perfect!
What an amazing surprise and so glad the showrunners decided to work close with Oda instead of doing some weird take on it and ending up an awful flop.
they will definitely need a bigger budget to show everything needed in the next arc/season
With it hitting #1 in 80+ different countries, I am sure they are gonna bump up the budget a bit.

When you guys asked about if Sanji's hitting pressure points, that's actually just Sanji's thing; just like Luffy names his moves after weapons, Sanji names his based on sections of meat like Neck, Shoulder, flank etc
Also, Garp doesn't have a fruit power...he is literally a notoriously strong slab of beef

I really love how you guys don´t know about the One Piece universum but still are so hyped with every episode. Can´t wait for your season 2 reactions ♥
What I absolutely LOVE about One Piece at all is, that not every enemie is an enemie. Almost everyone has their reasons. Even Arlong. Till I knew his story I hated him so much what he did to Nami and Coco Island. But then I was like: "Well.... I get you. I can´t hate you anymore. But still it was not the right thing to do..." Oda did amazing with all the story telling and I´m happy that the live action has so much parallels to the manga and still has their own storyline to tell and I´m all here for it ♥
I love Luffy's energy transcends different medias and spreads smile to many people :)

Go for it. I believe in you.."
It's hard to take yourself seriously when no one else does..
Again, experience and training means something in this world, devil's fruit is a cheat code that only goes so far.
words to live by Oak. "be Luffy" one of my favorite Luffy lines from the show, "of course I will"
Truly enjoyed the One Piece voyage with Badd Medicine. Congratulations to Diamond Dave, The Oak, Mason Quinn, and The Answer getting to 200k Subs!!!!
One of the many things I love about the live action is that you really feel the attacks. Especially the gattling where it has the right sounds, feedback, and makes mach effects in the air. It looks amazing.
I thought they did both Gatling and Battle-Axe fabulously
You guys were my favourite reactors for this show. Gald we went on this journey together and I'm looking forward to watching season 2 together again!
At Baratie, when Mihawk saw Luffy right before his duel with Zoro, he said “Oh I do like your hat”. It’s cause he knows Shanks.
Watched this with my wife and kids. We're actually still in the process of watching the anime and both my wife and older son are reading the manga. We were stoked to see Smoker at the end. I hope this show runs for a long time.

All three fishmen had joke names
Lip guy is Chu, the sound for a kiss in Japanese
Fishman karate guy is Kuroobi, which is kuro(black) obi(belt)
And the octopus fishman was named Hachi, which means eight.
I've been dying for this! Amazing reactors! Dude with the hat is my favourite human ever since the Potter ones, and now this!
In the Manga, Oda speed-ran the Coby/Hellempo arc with simple one-page 'diaries' - I am so happy to see them play it out in live-action
I WAS WAITING FOR YOUR ONE PIECE VIDEO!!
Omg I have a meeting in 15 minutes but I don't feel stressed at all, a big smile on my face thanks to you guys!

@@GlobalTrance
Yeah when I heard it in episode 4 and seeing Merry sail the sea, I almost cried. Still remember the lyrics and was singing along
The episode title "Worst in the East" refers to Luffy. He receives his bounty at the end of the episode, which is the highest in the East blue. So to the Marines and common folk, Luffy is now "The worst in the East".
I'd say it's both of them, at the start of the episode it's Arlong, and by the end it's Luffy.
I still cry everytime I watch their backstories, be it this Live action or the anime! 😂

Bruh he is the dictionary picture of the term "falling up" his character arc is amazing and Oda himself said he was his favorite to write.

Just over 1000 to go. lets gooooo
The banquets a must lol
The guy in the very last scene is a really heavy Smoker! You're definitely gonna like that guy!
To Oak and his question: I am a big One Piece fan since my childhood and the crew actors are phenomenal. Really fitting and you can feel the synergy like in the Anime. Also some of them are Anime or One Piece fans (Nami for example). Buggy is perfect, mihawk too, shanks is alright something missing with him but he got not much screen time in the next like 500 episodes anyway :D
But there is one thing I realised watching your reaction in english.
I enjoyed your reactions all throughout the series! Hope we will get to see season 2 soon
"i can't believe we are gonna be chearing for Buggy".
Oh Dave, only if you knew... All Hail Buggy The Clown! 🤣
