I had hunger monger last Friday, we ordered nearly everything on the list, the octopus skewers and dumplings were not our favs, the sauce does not work with octopus, maybe add some fish flakes, a creamy sauce to the octopus instead of the korean sauce , infuse with japanese flavour eg. Takoyaki flavouring. The dumplings were extremely spicy otherwise very nice. Everything else was perfection.
Oh, man! I am a seafood chowder nut, so you’ve left me salivating. But I have to say, as wonderful as the food looks, the picture of you and your fellow Kiwis eating in restaurants with abandon punches me in the gut a bit. Thanks for reminding many of us what life once was and can be again if we get our ****together. 😘

Another beautiful video! The colors and textures are so vivid, I feel like I can just reach through the frame of my monitor and feel the landscapes and foods. it was so nice to see a crowded, noisy restaurant with chefs cooking up tasty food. It's been 6 months now here in Los Angeles since dining in was banned due to Covid.
We’re very lucky aren’t we. We’re in a unique situation here and people are really getting out and supporting local which is fantastic. Hopefully you’ll be back out there again soon. Came for that Pizza 🍕 and Ice Cream🍦 but got "hooked" 🐟🐠 in by Hunger Monger!! The sheep skin chair coverings are an interesting yet cosy addition. If you ever do an NZ version of your gorgeous Cookbook l vote the seafood chowder to be included!! The smoked fish in it would knock Pikes Place Chowder out of the water. Napier is stunning, the Art Deco rocks. Thanks to you both for sharing the people and places, the story behind each one makes the vid special👍

This time Sheena made me wanna go eat pizza as my first meal tomorrow morning but chilli oil is not seen served with pizza in KL. So I know of a US style pizza joint next to a supermarket and I will buy the chilli oil before going for the pizza. Thanks Sheena!

@@ChasingaPlate Hi Thomas, got another question on the chilli oil you doused on the pizza: was it really spicy or was it light? Because as I traverse the racks here, our chilli oil looks like it is made with Sichuan level volcanic stuff that kills any good taste.
Haha volcanic level 😂 no it wasn’t crazy spicy. It had a wee kick but you wouldn’t say it’s volcanic level. Just a nice buzz on the tongue. Hope that helps! Thomas 😀

I love all salumi - prosciutto, salami, capacolla, pancetta and *_mortadella_* for sure but I've never seen mortadella that narrow in diameter in the U.S. or Italy. Cool. The pizza looked so delicious. And the seafood resto is right up my alley. Yes. The smoked salmon doughnut with scallop cream blew me away. That looked like the winner. And of course Brussels sprouts always get disrespected even when they show up on the table. Didn't even get a mention. 😐😂
So thin wasn’t it Tosh. Worked really well on the pizza. They were a real treat. Those poor sprouts should have got a mention because they were very good. We’d gone on a bit so sadly they didn’t get any air time. The silent hero of the night. Absolutely loved that restaurant. It was a really special place and we can’t wait to return one day. Came for that Pizza 🍕 and Ice Cream🍦 but got "hooked" 🐟🐠 in by Hunger Monger!! The sheep skin chair coverings are an interesting yet cosy addition. If you ever do an NZ version of your gorgeous Cookbook l vote the seafood chowder to be included!! The smoked fish in it would knock Pikes Place Chowder out of the water. Napier is stunning, the Art Deco rocks. Thanks to you both for sharing the people and places, the story behind each one makes the vid special👍
This was such a great day of eating. Everything was an epic win. The pizza was unreal and then that meal just blew us away. Absolutely fantastic food. This time Sheena made me wanna go eat pizza as my first meal tomorrow morning but chilli oil is not seen served with pizza in KL. So I know of a US style pizza joint next to a supermarket and I will buy the chilli oil before going for the pizza. Thanks Sheena!

@@ChasingaPlate Hi Thomas, got another question on the chilli oil you doused on the pizza: was it really spicy or was it light? Because as I traverse the racks here, our chilli oil looks like it is made with Sichuan level volcanic stuff that kills any good taste.
Haha volcanic level 😂 no it wasn’t crazy spicy. It had a wee kick but you wouldn’t say it’s volcanic level. Just a nice buzz on the tongue. Hope that helps! Thomas 😀

I love all salumi - prosciutto, salami, capacolla, pancetta and *_mortadella_* for sure but I've never seen mortadella that narrow in diameter in the U.S. or Italy. Cool. The pizza looked so delicious. And the seafood resto is right up my alley. Yes. The smoked salmon doughnut with scallop cream blew me away. That looked like the winner. And of course Brussels sprouts always get disrespected even when they show up on the table. Didn't even get a mention. 😐😂
So thin wasn’t it Tosh. Worked really well on the pizza. They were a real treat. Those poor sprouts should have got a mention because they were very good. We’d gone on a bit so sadly they didn’t get any air time. The silent hero of the night. Absolutely loved that restaurant. It was a really special place and we can’t wait to return one day. Same 😄 Seeing as these guys are serving American style we thought we’d adhere to the lingo 🤗 I believe the use of the term pie dates back to the 1800s when Italian immigrants started selling “tomato pies” in NYC- similarities were drawn between the pizza and the pie so it became known as a tomato pie, then a pizza pie etc 😄 Thanks for watching and commenting.
