Imagine Cando, North Dakota around 1989. I’m in my early 20s and somebody way up there had put this in a jukebox. I believe Lady of the Valley was the flipside. My partner in garage door repair and I would once a month spend a week tour up north from our big city of Grand Forks North Dakota. Fix farmers garage doors. One night we were in a bar in Cando, this was back when we were all friends and companions in this country of ours. No matter what party. We crank this and everybody from the big city( us) To a bunch of the farm boys from around we’re singing at the top of our lungs and having the time of our lives. Those days will never happen again. So blessed to have been alive in those days.
So there are some notes that are sightly off beat in the solo and other small mistakes, but number 1, none of us could replicate such a solo, and number 2, it was those small mistakes that made the solo sound so unique to the ear to begin with. The producer absolutely made the correct choice.
That 12-string intro and outro is what I love the most about it...Vito was an incredibly talented guitar player, with skills in a acoustic playing, flat picking, fingerstyle playing, as was seen in the song, "When the children cry," and can't forget about his lead electric guitar playing....too bad this band met the end it did.

WHITE LION, one of the most criminally underrated bands in hard rock history, wait was one of his greatest hits, thanks to rhino for make this easier to new generations and VITO BRATTA, i repeat, VITO BRATTA, only talent, a great talent, one of the most brilliant guitar players in hard rock
i like vito but vito wasn't one of the most brilliant. he's a fine player and composed some good stuff, but he's unoriginal and brought absolutely nothing new to the guitar. he's also not that good live. the true guitar gods are amazing live
that's not even remotely true. there are bands today that have a lot of talent but times have changed and people need to change with the times. simple as that. top 40 radio today is not even a thing. there is no more top 40 anything. and that's ok. it is called evolution. just like rock radio in the 80's evolved from corny rock to the 80's rock here. from 86-89, these are the type of songs that were hit songs. of course these songs would not be hits today because times changed. and that's perfectly ok
This band was seriously underrated. So many awesome songs, amazing guitar player and Mike Tramp was a great front man and still is. We just were so spoiled in the 80’s with all the different types of music and bands that came out.
Cleverly constructed guitar solo(understated!).I'm sure it made EVH proud.Great song, great guitarist.Guitar tone is very violin like, beautiful.Only Vito could've played THAT solo.
An era of music that changed the world. Absolutely untouchable musicians with a sound that can never be reproduced. Guitar at it's absolute perfection.
Absolutely loved White Lion back in the day and this song has remained fresh for so very many years and is still a favorite of mine. A testimony to solid songwriting and musicianship.

Kickass song takes you back in time
80s still the best decade for music.
YES!!
i like vito but vito wasn't one of the most brilliant. he's a fine player and composed some good stuff, but he's unoriginal and brought absolutely nothing new to the guitar.
he's also not that good live. the true guitar gods are amazing live
@@RobertMJohnson Exactly. He's no Clapton or Page. As far as that style of rock, he's talented but no George Lynch or even Reb Beach
@@sdc6447 dude Reb is absolutely fantastic. i put him above Lynch
They were awful
vito that epic guitar solo so crisp and clean. mike tramp his voice was amazing had lot range .
You could wake up to this on top 40 radio stations back then, when popular bands had real talent.
that's not even remotely true. there are bands today that have a lot of talent but times have changed and people need to change with the times. simple as that. top 40 radio today is not even a thing. there is no more top 40 anything. and that's ok. it is called evolution. just like rock radio in the 80's evolved from corny rock to the 80's rock here. from 86-89, these are the type of songs that were hit songs. of course these songs would not be hits today because times changed. and that's perfectly ok
This band was seriously underrated. So many awesome songs, amazing guitar player and Mike Tramp was a great front man and still is. We just were so spoiled in the 80’s with all the different types of music and bands that came out.
Best decade of music forever is the 80's!!
Cleverly constructed guitar solo(understated!).I'm sure it made EVH proud.Great song, great guitarist.Guitar tone is very violin like, beautiful.Only Vito could've played THAT solo.
I just paid attention to him playing it. I'm in awe.
Why the need to mention Van Halen? He wasn't the "end all." In fact, Randy Rhoads was much better.
I miss the 80s so much. Those were some of the happiest and most carefree days of my life.
I agree 110%!!!
An era of music that changed the world. Absolutely untouchable musicians with a sound that can never be reproduced. Guitar at it's absolute perfection.
Great 80s rock. Vito deserves more recognition for his guitar chops. So melodic and technically perfect.
The 80's... The greatest decade I can't remember!
I don't believe that ..
That guitar solo by Vito Bratta was one take. That's amazing.
Ah. The 80's. Please come back and save us!!!
Mann. 70's and 80's had the best music back then.,. Miss those days
Absolutely loved White Lion back in the day and this song has remained fresh for so very many years and is still a favorite of mine. A testimony to solid songwriting and musicianship.
Fast cars... plenty of beer.. freedom.. 80's man...
My son says to me... Mom put this on, you MIGHT need it. A blessed prayer X2 Camis. Love you Dylan William Joseph Cox. Mom
I would love to hear Vito's personal home studio recordings...
He is such an amazing guitarist.
Saw White Lion in Concert
The 80" the best music.
I keep listening to this. It just gets better and better! Damn, I miss big hair bands. Nobody does anything like this today.❤
Я_ русская , я не понимаю, почему вы глэм_ рок называете резинками для волос? Объясни! ❤😊
Good music like this don't really exist
Still the cleanest and smoothest guitar solo that ive ever heard
Best guitar solo ever!
