It's not even just the songs. Listen to the mixing and production of this song. This song is 33 years old now. Listen to it on noise cancelling headphones. You can hear the bass. The drums aren't too loud. The lead singer's voice is "up front" where you can hear it. Everything sounds CLEAR and leveled. Listen to music these days. It sounds like SHIT. Nobody knows how to mix and master and synch music anymore. Bands are doing mixing and production in home studios using desktop software and their finished albums sound like muddled garbage. Hair metal bands had sound engineers cutting pieces of tape and doing constant replays on analog machines. AND IT SOUNDS BETTER 30+ YEARS LATER, EVEN AS IT'S OBSOLESCENT TECHNOLOGY.

Hair metal bands are the lab-grown generic pop music of their day. There were a lot of great vocalist back then, as well as guitarists and drummers. They had the looks, the sound and the charisma that created an era in music that will never be able to be repeated the same way. I am lucky to have grown up with this rock metal era... it still is a favorite of mine.
In my opinion, there are not too many male singers that can sing high notes BEAUTIFULLY, and Michael is one of them, his high notes are just outstanding!
I'm glad to have lived to hear songs like this and also the years 70/80/90 They where amazing When i tell my kids they don't understand me But me and my friends know it
Heck i WAS in my 20's early 30's back then and i MISSED THIS!. i was into metal/hair bands of the time. I'm dumbfounded in that i never heard this till now..
Probably one of the finest examples of a strong band with a killer vocalist, and great guitar-tone... lost in the mix because of the "look." This song and this era will always be special to me.
Steve Sullivan tons of music that was awesome in the 70s and 80s is buried because today it isnt "popular" like country is, and its dated like you said because of the "look" but go beyond that and youll find some of the best singers, songwriters and musicians to come down the pike. nuff said
@Steelheart : Once upon a time, rock artists produced quality songs both lyrically and musically. It was a delight for the ears of every rock music lover. You could listen to it endlessly. It had a special impact for many. I'll Never Let You Go... released in 1990 and still popular in 2023...! Don't let such quality songs go to waste, it would be a shame. Thank you Miljenko MATIJEVIC for this heartwarming masterpiece and may you be well. Beautiful memories of you buddy...! Greetings from Belgium (Europe) and Florida (USA).
Miljenko is one of THE most overlooked, underrated, disrespected male vocalists, regardless of genre, period. And this is coming from a hardcore Geoff Tate fan since the 80s. Man never got the respect he deserved for the range he has, and fearlessness in using it so often. Mad props.
Same. I’m pretty sure at least my oldest (20) was conceived while this song played. Honorable mention to all the ones that didn’t make it while my wife was still on her birth control lol!

The '80's really were the best era for music! The musicians were so talented- they actually had to play instruments and write their own songs. It was a way of life ..each of us so loyal to our favorite bands. Waiting for Hit Parader magazine, or Circus, etc . To come out so we could learn that little piece of info about our bands. Anticipation for when the next album would come out....waiting for their newest song to hit the radio. Then...,.the concerts!!!! It wasn't just a show, but a right of passage. Our teenage rooms plastered with the magazine pictures of our heros,.. going through cans of Aqua Net hairspray!! It was such a an incredible time to be young!!!
This singer of true rock has the greatest vocal range that I have ever herd. His vocal range is amazing!! Great chops!! I would love to here him live !! Amazing truly !!

One of the best underrated hair metal voices of all time!!! Most people never heard of his name or Steel Dragon. But, a lot of people know of Mark Wahlberg and movie ROCK STAR! Even though movie came out in the early 2000’s, it set the scene of the 80’s. BEST DECADE EVER!!! No one else could’ve played the singing voice for Wahlberg but Miljenko Matijevic!!!
Yeah this quarantine stuff is wild but not to bad in the VA yet. Music was about the music back then now it’s all about the money and the music is no where is good.
Me, I am reliving my early teen years and loving every minute. What is really cool is my 9 year old son is truly loving all the music, he actually wants me to teach him some of the songs we listened to on guitar starting with love is on the way by Saigon Kick. I truly hope all of my fellow 80's rockers make it through this madness unaffected! Keep listening to the music of our young memorable years as positive thinking builds a positive healthy immune system. I truly wish everyone the best, keep rockin!! Big group hug from L.B.I. N.J.
Steelheart was JUST ON THE VERGE of Superstardom but because of a freak accident/injury to Matijevic (lead singer) when an improperly secured stage truss fell on him! But for that ONE freaking accident, Steelheart would have joined Guns & Roses, Motley Crue, etc into Metal Superstardom! What a vocal range on par with and probably BETTER than even Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Axel Rose (GnR) and approaching the female vocal range of those singers from Heart and even getting into Mariah Carey and Celine Dion ranges! DAMN! I miss those days! Everyone gettin' old and going onto the eternal metal stages of the upstairs! RIP Eddy Van Halen -- Guitar God -- Tuesday, October 6, 2020. May We All Never Die Young! V
I don’t think they were close to superstardom tho...They came out around the same time hairband music was ending. The freak accident just accelerated things Yes, the people we grew up listening to are biting the dust. It’s sad

There were a lot of great vocalist back then, as well as guitarists and drummers. They had the looks, the sound and the charisma that created an era in music that will never be able to be repeated the same way. I am lucky to have grown up with this rock metal era... it still is a favorite of mine.
+Karol K Yes, indeed.
+Karol K Yes, you are right. It was an awesome era. So much music that we where spoiled with.....
+Karol K yes, you right
Ur so damn lucky.
+Karol K I was 20 wwhen this song came out. what an era....amazing times

Greatest rock voice ever, and such a great song, glad I had my youth in 80s
Brother you are right on!
I disagree😂
I agree. What a great time to grow up in!
Does anyone remember when MTV was actually music video.
This geezer does. 😉
I sure do. I was there watching from the first video. And loved watching the top 20 countdowns after school. Good times and great music.

Remember Nina Blackwood one of the first Hostesses?
@@stjohnsriverrat7161 of course. She was so cool.
Martha Quinn was MY girl. 🔥
wow I wish music can be this way again.
you got that right!

summer day Let's bring this metal edge back. Too many people missed out
Sucks that time can not hold on to certain eras for a longer....miss this music so much.
What a beautiful song. And WOW the singer has a amazing voice! I’m speechless! Goosebumps! ❤WOW! AMAZING! Beautiful lyrics.
In my opinion, there are not too many male singers that can sing high notes BEAUTIFULLY, and Michael is one of them, his high notes are just outstanding!
Hitting those high notes in his middle voice without going into falsetto. That's. Amazing.
Miss the 80s and early 90s. Rock was awesome, musicians actually were talented. I loved being a teen in the 80s🤘
GREAT times
Me too. Those were some good times. No decade has touched the 80s and never will.
Me too, nothing will ever replace those times!!
Just can't agree more; best teens & best times;; the 80's
Hey how's it going.
I'm glad to have lived to hear songs like this and also the years 70/80/90
They where amazing
When i tell my kids they don't understand me
But me and my friends know it
Wow!! I never get tired of listening to his voice. Such awesome talent!!
😊😊
I'm 23 and so thankful to my dad introducing me to this kind of music, theres no going back now! 🤘
you have a good dad
Yeah ! 🤠⚾🏡
You WON"T regret it Chloe!! It's PROPER MUSIC and MEANINGFUL TOO!!! ENJOY!!

Steve Sullivan tons of music that was awesome in the 70s and 80s is buried because today it isnt "popular" like country is, and its dated like you said because of the "look" but go beyond that and youll find some of the best singers, songwriters and musicians to come down the pike. nuff said
ZeeboLaywicker
+Steve Sullivan They entered the scene just a few years too late. Pearl Jam and Nirvana were building momentum.
+Steve Sullivan ditto that Steve!!! I was there. 18 years old in 1984. Kids today have NO F'm clue what rock and music really was!
+ZeeboLaywicker lots of bands were underrated even in their own era, for example Skid Row and Bad Company.
I am still here loving this song. My husband died 11 years ago and I still love this song. So much has happened since he died. I love you, Dennis.
Hi Lynn... I want to share another song with you th-cam.com/video/DA3uWt9AdTk/w-d-xo.html you might like
Miljenko is one of THE most overlooked, underrated, disrespected male vocalists, regardless of genre, period. And this is coming from a hardcore Geoff Tate fan since the 80s. Man never got the respect he deserved for the range he has, and fearlessness in using it so often. Mad props.
Exactly. Thank you.
Cinderella too
Jeff Tate rocks, seen them open for twisted sister. Very great band
@@michaelschiler7128 Who is Jeff Tate? Is this the singer of Cinderella's band?
VERY well said! I still follow him and I'm so glad he's still singing and STILL touring!!! Someday.. i WILL see him in concert!
One of the most underrated voices of that time. Guy has pipes.
*A message to the future generations: Don't let this beautiful masterpiece die!*
How on Earth did this not get as huge as the other 80's hair bands? They were hust as good.
YOU CANT TOUCH ALL THE MUSIC FROM THE 80'S...IM JUST GLAD I GREW UP LISTENING TO THIS KILLER JAM..THIS NEW CRAP, CANT TOUCH IT...
Still listening in 2021-22! It’s cool he’s back singing and actually talks to his fans💗
👍
Kewl kewl!
Love them
Really, great singer!
He's been going strong for years under his name and not steelheart.. he STILL rocks!!! and still touring!!!
I have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. None would be here without this song 1991
Thank you!
Same. I’m pretty sure at least my oldest (20) was conceived while this song played. Honorable mention to all the ones that didn’t make it while my wife was still on her birth control lol!
That's hilarious
Super Fr......
Funny
I'm pretty sure God in heaven had alot to do with it Amen Thank God
This song has to be my all time favourite, what a voice ❤
I could watch this over and over
This was the last song my Dad responded to then he took his last breath & crossed over. He loved this song now it's part of me Forever! Thanx guys!☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Denise Hedden awesome I have one from the era as well when my mother passed. Kix don’t close your eyes
Karl Kirschstein, I'm so sorry for your Mother's passing I believe in Angel's no doubt in my mind I died during surgery they lost me 6 times that day I know what I saw & how I felt when I saw The Bright Light & it's Beautiful something we'll never see on earth. You never really die. Love ya know that Angel's are real! 🦋
Mark Millsap, your so right. God is Amazing I can promise you that. Hang on to God He's your best friend. I've got alot of Orb's that I've caught on my Samsung J7 phone for almost 2yrs but don't know how to get them on TH-cam. I'm gonna get some 1 I know to help me get them on my ytube soon. I want to share them with others. Take care & I'm on here most every night lol. Thank you for your kind words. 🦋🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Indeed Denise lost one to to this song kills me to listen but I must
Denise Hedden I believe you were very special to your father And I can't guarantee you that he misses you a Very much
I can't think of another male vocalist that can come anywhere close to his range. Those high notes are out of this world!!!!!
Axl, Sebastian Bach
Geoff Tate from Queensryche

Adam Lambert
No^
I will come back to this song till I die. Miljenko has the greatest voice then and now.
Most underrated band ever
He has so much range with his voice, he hits high notes like an opera singer, such talent, His voice brings tears to my eyes
He was an opera singer.
Pat Benatar was classically trained in opera and has a five octave vocal range.
This is my favorite Steelheart song. He sings about someone who has angel eyes, but he has an angel's voice! ❤️
Me too... Forever.
Cat T, if the picture on your comment is that of you than l say you are a beautiful woman

One of thee top best heavy metal ballads ever recorded in music history.
STEELHEART is without a shadow of a doubt a highly badass band
My grand daughter knows all the lyrics. ...I've been singing it to her since she was born....she's 5 years old now
Rhonda Brooks They don't make music like this anymore.I taught my kids early to appreciate good music.i.e. Steelheart. I hope your granddaughter grows up to appreciate the music we loved growing up just as mine do.
Rhonda Brooks This story made me smile. :)
sandra petrowski
It's 80s. The best!!!
Rhonda Brooks Grandma you are awesome since you can hit those high notes.
Lol your ALL WONDERFUL PEOPLE...THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU
He can still hit those notes to this day! Such an AMAZING voice!
@Steel official channel heart you are AMAZING 👏🏻 ❤
The '80's really were the best era for music! The musicians were so talented- they actually had to play instruments and write their own songs. It was a way of life
..each of us so loyal to our favorite bands.
Keifer, Cinderella front man is equally great
This is the most most beautiful ballad I ever heard! I remember seeing them in concert around 90-91. His voice! Wish 80s Metal was back.
I love his Vocal Range , Man this man Can Really Sing.
I wish someone can perform this song on AGT or The Voice. It would means a lot to these legends.
I think I love you!!
😍👌
This song reminds me of high school and my high School sweetheart to bad it lasted for only 14years.
Angel eyes
You have angel eyes
Such a smile that lights up my life oh
You're a dream come true
Now I'm holding you
And I'll never, never let you go
I will never let you go
First time I laid my eyes upon you
All my dreams were answered
First time I kissed your tender lips
My love to you I surrendered
I'll never let you go
You're always on my mind
You're the only one for me
You're all I need
And I'll never, never let you go
Angel eyes
My heart relies
On the love you give to me
You never let me down
You're always by my side
And I'll never, never let you go
I will never let you go
When my heart starts to crumble
And the tears start to fall
You hold me close with tender lovin'
And give me strength to carry on
I'll never let you go
You're always on my mind
You're the only one for me
You're all I need
And I'll never, never let you go
I'll never let you go
You're always on my mind
You're the only one for me
You're all I need
And I'll never, never let you go oh ooh
And I'll never, never let you go
Man this Man can really Sing. Man his Vocal Range is just Incredible.
A Monster Ballard Hit here. Wow !

This Incredible Song is an Amazing Monster Ballard if I ever heard one. I listen to this unbelievable Song ever night.
Juan E. Velez why did you write the almost same thing three times
Suka banget denger lagu ini sgt powerfull and nice song.......
Still Dragon???
Damn they don't make songs like this anymore it was a classic when I came out and it's still a classic today in 2023
Who is watching trying to remain strong during a quarantine and enjoying his beautiful voice
Yeah this quarantine stuff is wild but not to bad in the VA yet. Music was about the music back then now it’s all about the money and the music is no where is good.
Love his vocals!!!
If you go to MTV Unplugged, you can find some great music as well.
Doing the same thing 😍
Stay safe

Well said
Right there with you they are better than the ones you mentioned
I don’t think they were close to superstardom tho...They came out around the same time hairband music was ending. The freak accident just accelerated things
Yes, the people we grew up listening to are biting the dust. It’s sad
That was Bret Michaels from the group Poison that had the stage accident.
@@janshinkaruk7413 Bret has his at the Tony’s. This actually happened to the Steelheart singer
❤ this song goes out to my boyfriend Darryl Gill soon to be husband. I love you baby.
