I can't even remember, how I learned a 180 jump, but your explanation is very good, eventhough I never heard of "quarter jumps", so I think my trainers just let me jump untill I fully got the half rotation XD But currently I'm working on my 360 Jump :)
I almost never comment any video .. but you are awesome ! I started rollerskate March 5 2022… and I having the fun of my life ! Still learning and your videos help a lot ! Thank you !
Pretty cool super powers with sound affects included ! I am working EVERYDAY off skates on all the jumps, (including the waltz) and feel pretty good about the form. I have only started getting a wee bit confident outside on the trail to do baby jumps but hey today I did a baby jump at the rink and was proud of myself. I will get this down.... setting goals everyday on how many to do and goals on when to move to the next jump.
Can I personally ? I used to when I figure skated! But yes generally you could..... Figure skaters wrap their legs and arms to become more aerodynamic. Consider a double figure jumps- one knee lifts to help lift the body, the body wraps, and landing is on one foot. It would be rather difficult to maintain a center of gravity with two feet conducting a double rotation from take off to landing but I can’t say it’s impossible !
Ive been pretty comfortable with a 180 for a while now, but I cant get over the fear of going 360...any advice on how to get over the fear when trying a new skill?
Hi Vanessa! Are you doing them rolling or standing still? I have a fear and confidence video that may help. But for specifically the 360, try doing standing still and just adding an inch further around each time. That way your alignment and positions stay the same while just rotating slightly further each time.
Hu Ashley! I don’t teach staggering feet for a 180 as it would throw your center of gravity off, but you could for 360 as long as you know where center of gravity it and what foot / feet + edges you are taking off and landing on. Even for 360 I teach equal weight parallel feet from take off to landing.
@@appelusa that's different from most other jump/turn videos I've seen who say to always stagger your feet. Is this the norm for artistic skating? Not trying to argue, just curious :) I know in skating there are always multiple ways to approach the same thing.
@@TheAlalicious Ya I think it's just a style of teaching. If you are teaching to wrap ie. figure skating jump prep, perhaps the coach may have the stagger. But in beginner-advanced public classes we always taught parallel for better stability. Land how you set. But no right or wrong way there, in my opinion

Great! Just when I thought I sucked, now I get to realize I suck even more 🤣🤣
You just stick with the baby 🐰 hops! And on carpet 😉🙃
Should feet be staggered when doing 180 jumps and if so what foot should go in front
