    I'm too much of a loner to go out celebrating that I'm disabled. I refuse to let it define me, but I honestly don't need a special day, week, or month to let everyone know part of my body and/or mind has a glitch in it. I can't even remember the last holiday I celebrated. For all of you that are into this, more power to you, show the world what you're made of.

      You go on and keep loving yourself, and understand that you're a beautiful individual regardless of any disability, and do not be ashamed of it, it's who you are. Be happy and have a good day, God bless

      Me too! Since I decrease my friendship because my first friends move to another country or schools, I started to go on my own and from there I learned to love myself and even though when I got diagnosed with ADHD and Discalculia ( I got confused though). I don't really see my struggles as disorder or disability.

    While I'm a strong advocator of disable rights, as a "disabled" (I prefer mental disorder for myself) myself, why do we always need to be "proud" and "connected", "full of life" and "happy". I don't want to be part of a community of people that I don't know just because I share one of numerous disorder of nature, I don't feel like it makes "us" a community. And I don't feel proud for something that I haven't participied in (my disorder).
    Also life kind of sucks because of it, it is a part of me but I cannot congratulate it and make a proud walk for psychotic depression, it would be dangerous I feel.
    I must admit, I want to be "cured" when I have relapse. I would like to never have relapse, they'll never make me stronger in any way.
    Well actually we like to make jokes on that with other psychiatric ill friends, like you rarely find depressive and psychotic patient association because we aren't really funny and "connected" so sorry for being a wet-blanket compared to the happy video. It is great if people finds a place to express themselves,
    I just don't like when we talk about "everybody" and forget that some people don't want to be part of a community (I feel like this is very american), feel very awkward to be called brother/sister from people you don't know, etc

      I've suffered from chronic depression my entire life, so I understand where you're coming from. How can something that feels like your life is being sucked out of you, be used as a strength. I have a physical disability as well, but it doesn't mean I want to hang out with others with a disability. Been a loner my entire life, never had a problem with it.

      It is about be optimistic and unashamed for who we are. Also, not everyone's disability is depression, so being happy may be something that doesn't strike them wrong when they see representation Talkin about being happy and proud about being disabled. The point is to destigmatize who we are and the treatments, equipment, procedures , etc. we use/have done/etc..

If they didn't judge me they would see I'm pretty smart. But because of these people I m afraid to ask for help. I don't wanna ask for help because I wanna show people I can do stuff in my own without support. I just wanna show the world what I can do and not be judged for my disability

    My disability is found in multiple species, and was discovered in 400BC!!! Yet, in veterinary medicine animals are euthanized. In human medicine, there are no functional treatments that extend quality or quantity of life. The only available treatment is palliative, and I have to fight for that little bit. I have been scarred, mentally and physically, and made into a Frankenstein's monster by multiple doctors. When I can choose what to do with my own body and life, I will have pride, until then pride is a meaningless word.

    • @lorisreality8681
      @lorisreality8681 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have great empathy for your disability, SA Inja woof. I don't have the exact same struggles. Due to chronic pain disability, I understand the struggle of fighting for the quality of what life you have left, ceaselessly arguing with doctors about what your wishes are for your own body. You could ( not that it's your job to educate people) definately spread your story on social media to educate others and perhaps encourage the next generation to find better treatments or a cure. The more people do that, the more the odds increase for a better outcome and quality of life for future people with your disability.

    I been fired twice because of my disability and speech impediment, yet these posers out there continue to be managers, CEOs, and horrible to staff.
    We don't need pride, we need to purge these goons out of a job they have zero business being in, except that it was mommy, daddy, or friend that get them that position anyways. Hence what is broken is the culture which starts in educating them early on in life. Sadly, this country has failed to educate anyone on fairness, with racism and discrimination being an every day issue.
    This country is doomed.

  • @theoceandragonfly
    @theoceandragonfly ปีที่แล้ว +2

    A lot of people that don't have disabilities of any kind who work jobs. Those people hate that people with disabilities who get disability benefits money and medical insurance. They think people with disabilities are draining the social security money that people with no disabilities worked for and people with no disabilities want the people with disabilities to get off their disability benefits, social security, and medical. People with no disabilities just don't get it. They don't understand. It's very difficult to live with out the help from benefits and being on social security disability and medical benefits. People that have disabilities are doing the best they can and even then if you don't have parents and family or friends or a support system it's even harder. People on disability who have learning disability and mental disabilities are not living a rich life on disability benefits and they aren't trying to just draw money from social security for the fun of it or to use anyone. If they work they don’t make enough money to live on, and others are not able to make an income that supports living expenses. For people on disability depending on what your job pays and that if you get a job and that's if anyone will hire you. You get penalized. Your benefits are taken from you. Medical insurance and social security. With the job, you don’t make enough to live on or get medical. Without out the job you still don't get enough to live on. Especially when you don’t have support and Help. Prices of food and housing, apartments and everything goes up. Disability SSI, SSDI and so on has not went up enough to help with living expenses when inflation has gone up. No, people on disability are not just living on disability social security because it fun or easy. People on disabilities are trying to survive and live in a world that is not seeing us as a blessing but a burden to humanity. They want people on disability to get off of social security disability and live without it and get no medical benefits. Are they really that dumb to think that people on disability should just toughen up get jobs and live like people with no disabilities of any kind? Seriously, that is not possible essentially for people with learning disabilities and mental disabilities or physical disabilities or people who are blind. Those people with no disabilities can not comprehend what it is to be in the lives of people with disabilities. People with no disabilities can't even begin to understand what it's like to really live with disabilities until it happens to them. When people are born with disabilities you can't even understand the struggles they have had to go through and how most of life for them is a challenge and the mile stone they reach are to be celebrated. Yes, celebrated disability Pride. No, you are not a burned but a blessing that not everyone with no disabilities sees or understands. Diversity is a good thing. People with Individual disabilities show people without disabilities how greatful they should be that they don’t have any disabilities at all and they should have compassion for people with disabilities. God bless all people with disabilities of all types all that are of love and light high vibration. Shine bright. Show love and joy to humanity so people with no disabilities can see what love and joy looks like and feel like even when life is tough at times.

    I don't support this whole pride thing, it's not me, but I support those who are disabled taking the mantle of not being ashamed of saying "hey this is how I am and I'm proud of me" the Bible says we are ALL fearfully and wonderfully made in God's image. But though in this video you stand for something I don't believe in nor think is a good thing at all. I don't hate anyone who supports this but pray that you all turn away from this and come to Christ before it's too late amen. Have a good day. I don't want hate nor spreading it, my job is to spread life and the good news. So there you have it. Have a good day.
    Edit: Okay coming back to this I realize this wasn't what I thought it was, I thought this was like disabled people who were part of the LGBTQ+ community that's what I don't support, yet still no hate to them, but this is them being proud of being human beings despite their differences from others. It's what makes them stronger and special. I'm sorry to anyone I offended from this. Younger me was clearly confused but I'm not the same person making that mistake again. Thank you.

      Why is the " whole pride thing" for disabilities not a good thing? You seem to imply something is unchristian about it. We should celebrate more of these historically disenfranchised populations! I’m marginally lactose intolerant and there are many who suffer inequitably from the same condition. Let’s all join together and celebrate our gastrointestinal issues with freedom flatulence day! Not a month, as that would be too gross

    They should be given as many of the same opportunities as others and not suffer from a stigma that unfortunately plagues them, daily. However, let's be honestly, if they could take away their disability, they wouldn't say no.
    Edit: It probably should have been said that many wouldn't say no. All is a bit absolute. Still, since there isn't a way to change whatever it is that's going on, it's all conjecture. If there was, now that is where some real internal debating could take place. Plus, it really does depend on the severity and when it occurred.

We have 21 throughout our state and most of us are contracted with them along with other licenses agencies. We are heavily regulated by PC language policies. I meant no insult nor peaches and cream, it is what it is and we continue to work for equality. In our local community of ID adults it was their choice. We asked. Being a private individual with autonomy is very different than folks in care.
