    How much product do you add to the bath to be effective? One tablespoon or more? Just wondering if you put that on the label. Thank you. It was very informative amd the right mix between a bath salts and milk!!

      It really depends on how big your bath is. We have an extra large bath so I usually pour in a 3rd of the bag but a small bath may only need 3-4 scoops. I have instructions on my packaging

    Hiya Soy and Shea,
    I'm wondering, what I could possibly use in the UK, as an alternative to Natrasorb? It feels as tho I've searched everywhere for it, but it appears I can't source it here. It seems, I'll be unable to go ahead, and make bath salts/milk to sell, without the Natrasorb?
    Do you possibly have any advice? I'd be so grateful.
    Thank you

      Thank you for watching 🧡 there are a few discussions in the comments about where you can find Natrasorb. There were a few places in UK and may also be called bath sorb. It's such a unique ingredient that there aren't any good alternatives

    My son was allergic to dairy, soy, almonds, and raw tomatoes. I find it funny when people who are simply lactose intolerant think they have a milk allergy. They’re an entirely different thing.

    Hello again!! Nice Proyect ..! Is it possible to change the tapioca powder for any other starch ??? Thanks so much

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Natrasorb is unlike any other starch. It can easily hold its same weight of wet ingredients and still remain dry. Most of the other starches go like breadcrumbs. I have used normal tapioca starch but it didn't look as nice.

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a question that cannot really be answered definitively as it really depends on how much water is in your bath. We have a huge bath so I put just under half a cup but in my parents bath which is a lot smaller I'd put about 1/4 cup. It's also a personal preference to how much someone wants in the bath.

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you. This is a bath soak. When running a bath, I put a couple of scoops in the water and it dissolves. There really is no good substitute for natrasorb. It's a tapioca starch but if you use ordinary tapioca starch it goes clumpy and holds the moisture differently so things still get damp

      Thank you 🧡 Natrasorb is a form of tapioca starch but it is more refined. Normal tapioca starch will clump. I don't believe cornstarch would be a good substitute.

    True colloidal oatmeal is oats that have been boiled. The mucilage is skimmed off and dried and that is what colloidal oatmeal is. It dissolves cleanly in water with no bits or residue. Grinding up regular edible oats at home is not colloidal oatmeal. It can be used but it does not dissolve like colloidal oatmeal.

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is correct and as mentioned in the video the processing involved is what leads to the expense. Depending on what you want out of the oatmeal would depend if you invest in the "real" ingredient such as for lotion, or if using in soap you can do it yourself to get a nice Exfoliating soap

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Izzazzo I don't believe they would be hydrating - salt is known for its drying and curing abilities if used in high quantities. Most salt if left open to air will sweat and dissolve - I have found Dead Sea Salt just more prone to it. It's also why I don't use a Himalayan Salt Lamp anymore. We came home to a huge puddle of salt water after it started to sweat - and I mean huge. We were lucky none of the water dripped onto the power point - just wrecked the side board and stained floors.

Giving you a recipe in percentages means you can make it any size you want and you can adjust according for fragrance and preservative rates as these can differ. Do you know something that I could use instead of the oats but would have the same kind of benefits?
    Or do you think it would be just fine without it?
    I have a friend who is allergic and I’d be making it for her.
    I also have a question about oils. If I added an oil (not a huge percentage though) and let it sit over night until dry, do you think I could potentially get away with adding a preservative? Or to the bath salts? (I saw the bath salts video first).

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't think of anything off the top of my head that would be similar but you could increase the milk powder or clays and leave it out.
      I personally wouldn't add oil to either one of the milk or salts as it would make it damp once your seal it up. There is also a high chance of it going rancid which a preservative wouldn't help with.
