I have been wanting to use the lifehunt scythe for a while, but I'm really not sure how to make it interesting after the backlogs already doing a video with it. I could use it exclusively, after getting a +10 great scythe and doing Sen's skip instead of using the great scythe until getting it, actually, and managing bleed in the lower levels could be fun. It's definitely going on the list!
I know it might not be your style but maybe you could keep the bleed resistance at the lowest possible, that way it becomes a health managment issue and there is a gimmick that keeps present through the gameplay. also i think doing it in NewGame+ could make it more interesting because bleed with long healthpools is oddly satisfiying and enemies hit harder. just sayin'. i'll be waiting to see what you do@@solarpellets
Not really a challenge run, but an idea for a longer analysis-esque video. Beating the game with every class with only their base equipment and level to see which one is the most powerful on its own.
I know a lot of people praise the Great scythe as one of the best pve weapons in the game. But recently I did a run where I used the regular Scythe you find in sens fortress. I got it to +11 fairly early in the run for the bump to B dex scaling, allowing me to one and two hit some of the more difficult early game enemies and making quick work of some early game bosses. I leveled mostly into dex and did a fairly even leveling of vitality and endurance. Also ran the thieves armor because its fairly light and has decent resistances also ran the grass crest shield. I got the scythe to +15 just before going to Anor Londo. Havel's ring is also a necessity early game, if you didn't level endurance enough usually taking the gloves off got you just enough equip load to fast roll with the ring. Overall the run was just very fun. Way less frustrating than some of my other runs. It was fun going through the game feeling way overpowered for some enemies and bosses. If you or anyone wants to do a similar run to mine, my early game weapon of choice for dex is the uchigatana, getting it to +5 and swapping out once you reach Sens fortress for the scythe.
The Scythe is one of my favorite weapons in the game, actually. I used it in the back half of a playthrough and then immediately did a playthrough where I used Sen's skip to get it super early. I haven't used the great scythe yet, I don't think.
@@heskerterrer9724 Only because of bleed but that isn't viable of a lot of bosses in a ng cycle. The Scimitar and the falchion on the other hand are much easier to get.
Only at 4:47 but 40% DPS buff from Power Within is nothing to scoff at, and I don't think (in most cases) that the time spent healing is enough to counteract that fully. That being said, I don't know yet if you have something else in mind that wouldn't allow you to use it and would be better, but also FYI Power Within lasts 100 seconds. Just found your channel and loving your vids so far
It's barely noticeable when it comes to raw dps. The reason this specific sword is one of the best is do to its attack speed and scaling not its final ar.
I love Manus. You definitely dont need the pendant to avoid his spells - you simply need to lock on less and work on spacing. Ds1 becomes much easier when you generally stop locking on to enemies, especially bosses.
I have fought Manus several times since making this video, I've beat him hitless twice without the pendant. I understand his attacks far better and can dodge them 90% of the time. He still sucks to learn. If you're attacking from neutral and he decides to do the combo or shotgun and you don't have the pendant, you simply can't avoid it. You have to stay mid-range until he attacks, then counter attack if possible. That's the only way to safely fight Manus, with or without the pendant, and that sucks. Locking on makes the fight far easier, you can see him better and there's literally no negative to it. You lose omni-directional rolling, but the game is built around it. I have 600 hours in the game, it's not like I don't know how to fight bosses, it's that Manus throws away the design philosophy of the rest of the game, making him annoying to learn.
@@solarpellets I suppose you're right about the learning curve being a bit steep. He'll take a few attempts to figure out but imo because most of the game is pretty easy by souls standards it's nice to have a good challenge. Tbh I've always had more trouble with kalameet over the years so to each their own.
@@solarpellets Manus gives you trouble because you're being too greedy for hits. You can't greed vs the DLC. You have to dodge and punish attacks that can be punished safely. Also the shotgun blast can be dodged by rolling to the right. left gets you hit way more often. Ring is easy to dodge. Rain you just take a step back and run in a random direction if you want to stay at mid distance. TL:DR, your lack of patience is your downfall. Disliking a boss because it requires patience and skill is just a shit reason imo. I'll fight Manus any day over something easy and boring like such as any of the Demon bosses. Also bro saying he likes Bed of Chaos already tells me you have REALLY L takes.
@@AaronScotz Not a "bro" nor a "he," and you can easily greed Manus, literally just put on armor and he becomes easy, just like the rest of the game. Moving left or right doesn't change the shotgun blast at all. The ring and storm tell are very similar, making them annoying to learn, just like the whole fight, regardless of how "easy" they are to dodge. Manus is fun once you learn him, but he's easily the worst to learn. I've gone back and fought him with less than 100 damage a hit without the pendant hitless, I really don't think you understand that the difficulty of the fight is not the issue by far. It seems like you don't like Bed of Chaos for being too hard, though, considering it's one of the most consistent bosses in the game and is entirely position based.
@@solarpellets I don't like Bed of Chaos because his gimmick was poorly done. Literally the majority agrees with me that Bed of Chaos is the worst boss in the series from a gameplay design point. Also, going left or right DOES make a difference on the shotgun blast. You're more likely to escape the hitbox by going right. Also I get that rain and circle have similar projections, but if you stay in the middle and be patient, you have lots of time to react to either. Look for clouds for rain and look for the magic going upwards for the circle. Also the fact you're making a deal out of pronouns tells me how sensitive you are. I can make mistakes, lmao. It ain't a crime. Makes sense you're defensive considering despite good viewership on videos, you only got 7k subs.
I don’t know if I’d have the courage to do a 2-handed build which forces you into close-quarter mêlée, but you know the game much better than I do, so congrats on the run!
Summon does channelers Trident, you have RTSR, Darkmoon talisman, darkmoon blade, +15 painting guardian sword, 99 dex, 99 str?, dusk crown, ring of the suns firstborn, power within. I think thats what you need
Hey! Great video as always. Regarding the accessibility thing you mentioned, and as a soon to be video game programmer (5 months to graduate and start looking for a job on the field). This is my personal opinion: There are a lot of aspects that come into play whilst talking about accessibility, and it doesn't always relate to difficulty selections. The accessibility comes in many ways, such as visuals (Yellowish paint in the climbable or interactable elements of the games, such as in horizon zero dawn or tomb raider, they can help the visually impaired and are also great for regular players). The controls are also a great deal when it comes to this kind of things. I have a friend who only has one hand. He tried really hard to play Elden Ring but sadly had to leave it because there are simply too many possible inputs. The infamous difficulty selector is more often than not detrimental. When the development time for a videogame is just so short it isn't always enough to have a good game out by the date the publishers make you have it, let alone having a difficulty selector that gives you actual changes in the game. Usually, as you can see in The Witcher 3, it's only beefier health bars. The accessibility ultimately has to come from better visuals, simpler controls and a design element such as the one in super mario oddissey that helps the player not to die without touching elements from the actual game, it interacts solely with the player. But as I said that's my personal take :)
I think the one in Witcher 3 is done pretty well, but only because of how the rest of the game is designed. If you use alchemy, potions, a bunch of good gear, all that, then you should play on higher difficulties to actually get that challenge. If that's not your thing, then lower difficulties would be better for you. In the same way, dark souls "difficulty options" are available to you if you don't have good reaction time or whatever. I don't think a difficulty selector is inherently bad, it just makes it easier for developers to not implement actually good mechanics lol. Most of the time that falls on corporate, not the devs, since they just don't have enough time, though. That said, it is interesting that most accessibility comes down to visuals and controls, I never considered that at all
You raise a really good point. Devs are badly exploited due to the release dates of videogames. Videogames are a bad investment, economically speaking, because they are huge hits or giant failures, the more money you invested on it, the greater the risk, so companies are just desperate to release on time to start another project. (There are exceptions tho) For changing gameplay on difficulty sliders as I think it should be done you should have to create different attacks for the enemies, enable ones, disable others, change % of attacks being used. But normally there isn't time to pass through the game and check what should be changed for every enemy. And even if there was time, it would be invested in other areas of the game. @@solarpellets
Idk why everyone is talking about her voice, it's very well done and informative. I enjoy the speed Aside from that, very great video, well researched and entertaining
Chances are someone mentioned this before, but you cannot increase either the damage or duration of weapon buffs by using rings. The only way to improve your DPS further is to use Hyper Mode (Power Within + RTSR) and the Dragon Torso Stone. With that being said, if you are going for max damage I suggest using a high AR weapon instead of a fast one, which could one-shot the enemy. This also solves the issues of reach, lack of large openings, and lack of buff duration, as you would be dealing upwards of 4K damage with a single swing even if the swing takes 3 seconds. If you want to use a fast DEX weapon Ricard's Rapier might be a better option for this type of build; going for minimum requirements with 50 INT/FTH and putting levels into stamina and vitality to use heavier armor to abuse the counter damage with the Leo Ring. The Leo Ring, however, will not improve the damage from the weapon buff as far as I know. Another spell-sword build would be to go DEX instead, using Great Magic Weapon with the Oolacile Ivory Catalyst. Since the Thief starts with 2 attunement slots you could raise your INT to 19 and DEX to 40, then attune Great Magic Weapon and Homing Soulmass (19 INT gives you 3 projectiles instead of 2), Great Soul Arrow, or Magic Shield/Strong Magic Shield, lastly increase your Endurance and Vitality. Strong Magic Shield is a pretty fun, albeit underrated spell that makes your shield 100% resistant to all damage while decreasing the stamina cost for blocking by more than 50%, meaning that even a small shield (better if it's fully upgraded) can provide you the benefits of a great shield with no strength requirements at a fraction of the weight. That setup in conjunction with a thrusting sword/spear and stamina recovery gear and you have yourself a pretty unique turtle build. The obvious choice here would be the Grass Crest Shield for this build, but experimentation is always fun.
Idk i think manus is ine if fromsofts best bosses, he’s so aggressive that it keeps you on your toes unlike any boss in ds1 since the majority of them are insanely easy
I mean, hard != Fun, but even aside from that, so many of his attacks are annoying, unintuitive, or just outright broken. The combo doesn't make any sense, the jumps are weird and annoying, the bead attacks suck, he's just everything terrible about what became of the bosses in DS3 and Elden Ring. He's not a *bad* boss, don't get me wrong, he's still fun, he's just my least favorite boss in the game.
@@solarpellets See maybe its just the amount of time ive spent on manus specifically (he was my biggest struggle in the first game especially on my first play through) but you can definitely tell what move he is going to do before throwinf it out, especially the combo because he does a big scream before it. id argue the worst in the game is obviously BoC, i think the gwyndolin fight was also pretty bad gameplay wise. not very fun just chasing the boss in an almost infinite corridor. the only thing id agree with is the magic attacks can be pretty BS but after fighting him on my 6th run i had completely learned the timing for all of them without the medallion, otherwise though id disagree with that take tbh i think they did manus great especially in comparison to the bosses that came after in ds2. and personally i love the bosses in ds3 and elden ring i think they punish you for not staying vigilant enough while also allowing you just enough time between most attacks to get a hit or two off in, i think theyre challenging but in an extremely fair way ,(except godskin duo they can disappear and id be happier than ever🙏) but something being your favorite or least favorite will always be subjective so neither of us are truly right in the end! im curious though what is your favorite boss throughout all the from soft games? i think that sparks good conversations as there are SO MANY bosses and so many reasons to like each one!
I see you've discovered the Painting Guardian's Sword. I remember when this thing was talked up quite a bit, it's fun when you get it to work, but I always enjoyed the Falchion even though there's a drop-off in damage due to slower attacks.
Subscribed :) you should do this in other souls games ( as long as it isn’t too taxing on your time ofc ) I feel like it would get a lot of views and stuff
I was looking into other games and can't really find anything as concrete as this. I've seen several answers for both DPS and AR in DS2, but if I can figure out what the highest DPS is, I'd love to do it.
Manus has always been my favorite fight in the game. But only very recently as in this year did I realize you can spam the silver pendant to keep using its effect... for literally no reason at all I assumed it had some kind of cooldown o_O. aanyway nice vid as always!
Sir, the video is nice, the idea is interesting, but you really need to put some expression behind that voice, it feels as if a teacher is making you read the script for the rest of the class. Take this as constructive criticism and not as an insult please.
Ma'am, not sir, and don't worry I don't take it as an insult at all. That's just kind of how I talk, though lol. I have autism and my voice doesn't really emote much. I've been trying to talk more emotively, but I also don't want to, like, ham it up too much because it would feel disingenuous to me.
One challenge run that I've thought would be interesting to see is: A bow without lock on or crossairs. (I feel like it would be difficult, But not insanely difficult or impossible.) And the challenge could be characterized as sort of: Aiming and shooting the bow, More similar to real life aiming a bow in the middle ages/ Medieval Era. i.e. They would aim/ sight down the arrow (which you couldn't do since that pov isnt in the game) or they used instinctual aiming (which is sort of what: No lock-on or crossairs would be). But, I don't know if this would be super challenging or entertaining enough for a video. Buy, It's just a suggestion. And I don't remember seeing anyone else do it.
i feel like having 49(manus catalyst cuts 99 castings in half) dark beads is potentially higher dps since youre not stamina locked and you have somewhat better range since you still want to be close enough to land all projectiles
OMG I did a run just like this last year only with the Balder Side Sword! 40 dex 50 faith with max dark moon blade and power within and I was doing over 800 damage with a one hand r1. Beat each Four King before the next one showed up. I also beat Gwyn with 3 parry ripostes with the hornet ring I’ve never been so strong. I was considering using the painting sword because I read that’s it like the best Dex weapon but I skipped it due to its blade length and the BSS was way longer and had a good R2 thrust.
the Falchion is probably better than the painting guardian sword with it's higher Ar while having the same moveset. Hard to tell how much extra dmg bleed gives since a lot of the bosses and even enemies seem to be immune to it.
All I know is that everyone on the internet said this is better lol. I assume the painting guardian sword is faster? Or takes less stamina? I'm not quite sure.
Imo curved swords are actually the best possible weapon for Manus, it's kinda bitchmade but the easiest way to fight him is run away in circles while baiting hand slams and the wombo combo, you can hit the hand as a punish, it takes some time, and for some people it can be hard to predict his attacks, but being at a distance constantly helps manage both his aggression and his spells. since curved swords have such fast running attacks(and halberds) you can very easily get at least one hit on the hand after dodging a slam and since he's so far he just can't close the gap in time due to the recovery, trust, if you play super passive for him he becomes the easiest dlc fight
Yeah, but passive is boring lol I like greatswords, great hammers, and greataxes for that exact reason, you can get a ton of damage on every single punish as long as you read it well.
currently playing a mage for the first time and pinwheel took forever with the moonlight butterfly horn. didn't even know he was coded to survive like 2 full minutes. I usually just kind of killed him before he does anything.
He has one of the most interesting fights in the game if you don't kill him instantly. If he had more health he'd probably be one of my favorite bosses.
Max DPS and a high burst damage mage were probably the most fun I've had with this game! You probably don't like Manus because his moves rub you the wrong way. There are bosses any person can hate because yuck. I hate Bed like most other people for example, and I found Mohg and Malenia really annoying just because of how long they took. Pursuers and Giant Lord also suck because DS2 hitboxes. Yeah, Manus is the hardest in the game, but I find his moveset really fun and just hate the run because he also has one of the longest runs. I learned from Lobos that you can dodge the attack where he pulls in the big circle of orbs just by hugging him. Shotgun blast doesn't give me too much trouble. 4-hit combo sucks, but it has a 2-second tell where he rears back with a little roar, and that's usually just enough time to backflip away from the slam jam.
okay, in case someone (in the comments) havent told you, the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring and Lingering Dragoncrest Ring both do not have stat requirments.
Great video i like how ur giving alot of information but look into wiki why this sword is the highest dps, its becouse its scaling and darkmoon blade scaling both S one in dex and one in fth soo i would love to see a video on maxed possible "usable in real gameplay" dps ;3
I have no idea how to go about finding that lol. The best I've found so far is the lifehunt scythe, but I'm not really sure where to go from there. It's going on my list for when I figure it out though lol
it would be fun to see a chaos blade or a lifehunt scythe run because of their gimmicks. And idk why but when I saw you faming the painting guardian sword I thought of the balder side sword because its also a low drop rate weapon which is hyped in the community. If you haven't already you can try one of those.
I've definitely been wanting to do chaos blade. Lifehunt scythe seems fun, but outside of four kings it might just involve dodging for a bit, but finding ways to keep the DPS without taking damage could be interesting. I'll definitely look into both of them
Lifehunt Scythe is the weapon that pretty much carried my first playthrough. The bleed damage was only really a problem with the Four Kings, and even then because I got greedy and wasn't paying attention. Still, apparently killing the last king with the same hit that kills you with bleed still counts, so all that really amounted to is a very stressful trip to recover 80K souls.
I'm like 99% sure Lobos did this lol It does sound pretty fun, though. I want to try it at least, maybe I can do something interesting and unique with it.
The video is a bit older, but do you remember why you grabbed the knight set instead of the elite-knight set? Is the slightly lower weight really that important?
I actually did a Demon greataxe darkmoon blade run before in ds1, the moveset was... not great, so much so that I actually ended up using jump attacks as my most reliable move
The fact you said the fap ring is bad is just so weird it is known as the best ring in the game and it’s why everyone uses it for basically every play through
manus' dark magic attacks are absurdly easy to dodge once you understand how they work, I don't think i've ever even used the silver pendant defensively in that fight its just not really needed
And then Manus jumps away twice and uses the ring with literally no way to approach quickly enough to avoid it entirely. Or decides to use the shotgun once you're up close. Or you start rolling from the rain and there just happens to be a piece of rubble in the arena that you couldn't have possibly seen coming because it's dark and you don't have to pay attention to them 99% of the time because Manus breaks them. They're easy to dodge if you know how and you get lucky.
I think a fun one could be doing your take on beating the game with only gear and spells found in the asylum. Nice, simple, and could be fun to see how well they last.
Just off the top of my head I can think of a couple ways to make that interesting, so I'm not just running through the whole game with a +0 straight sword, I'll put in on my list for sure.
@@GobPalRosieVT you can get several upgrade materials in the asylum itself, as well as a couple black knight weapons, but I wouldn't want it to just be a bks run lol. There's probably some interesting weapon in the asylum I could use, I'm just not quite sure what yet.
If I wanted to use this build but just naturally level up the painted sword, would it still be too OP? I like to level up things naturally and not feel excessively OP, but I do like big number dps go brrrt and I liked this build for my next run. PS: Is it the highest DPS weapon ONLY if you infuse it for faith?
I don't think you can buff infused weapons, but if you don't plan on using buffs, then enchanted has the best scaling. If you're doing anything other than an int build, though, a +15 std is your best bet, and then use DMB, or SLB if you don't want to use DMB. I didn't really go out of my way to upgrade it to +15, I just had most of the materials at that point. I didn't even really go out of my way, just grabbed the stuff as I went through the game.
@@solarpellets I haven't played the game since 2012 so I'm a bit rusty/forgetful, just bear with me haha. Actually I think for the Remastered run I'll probably use something else because last time I tried a short reach weapon in a souls game (daggers in Elden Ring) I got annoyed at the range, but it was a nice video/tips.
I’m so glad they got rid of the “spell uses” system where you only get one use of weapon buffs! I don’t know why they had mana in Demon’s Souls but then got rid of it in DS1 and 2 and made a worse system
I prefer the spell cast system in every way, for sure. With mana it feels like a waste to use anything other than your highest damaging spells at all times, with, spell casts, it's a waste to not use every single spell you have equipped. Every single level in attunement is extremely valuable, and every copy of every spell is extremely useful. It makes it more about strategy than "use your strongest spell"
FAP ring is literally the best of the tri rings in dark souls it’s literally a staple to almost every build that’s running any form of melee combat but honestly I’m more for dusk ring and flip ring to flip kill ANYONE
Yeah, it's decent if you're not trying to do something specific, but if you're not getting hit anyway or need the ring slot, it's not detrimental to get rid of it
DMB isn't... Entirely... the best Buff in the game, there are some instances where SLB is slightly better, however this requires you to abandon DMB entirely, but for those not wanting to use DMB, SLB is a very close 2nd in strongest buffs (barring Force Buffing any Magic based weapon with CMW... which literally is the best Glitch buff bar none) Edit: Didn't use Power Within for that 50% full attack boost and GIANT +30 stamina regen boost, allowing for a massively increased DPS and stamina sustain... PW is used in these DPS builds as it's literal "free" DPS boosting, as it's a 0/0 Stat requirement Spell with 1 slot requirement, that heavily boosts all forms of damage... and is found REALLY early into the game for the best buff in the game period.
I always love running through DS1 with weird/op builds. Game has by far the worst balancing out of all the games so its always fun to do some weird build that is also OP like the lifeless scythe which takes the cake as far a fun and kinda broken builds go imo.
@@chicken5038 DS1 is certainly not the worst balanced, I promise you that lol. In terms of discrepancies in power between weapons, that easily goes to ER and it's not even close, and in terms of how powerful you can get relative to the PvE that's definitely DS2, no competition. The basic dagger can shred DS2 no problem. Demon's Souls is more unbalanced, tbh. That said, it is very fun to get a stupid strong build and obliterate all of the games incredibly easily lol

Not really a challenge run, but an idea for a longer analysis-esque video.
Beating the game with every class with only their base equipment and level to see which one is the most powerful on its own.
Honestly.... That is a GREAT VIDEO IDEA!!
The knight or deprived will win. Pyromancer comes in 3rd.
3:02 I was not aware of the existence of frog rays until now, but you have introduced a new thing for me to love in my life. Thank you.
They are pretty incredible
If you like the Scythe moveset, you will love a Chaos Gargoyle halberd, insane damage
@@ballisticthreatI believe the overall best weapon is the scimitar or falchion. High attack speed high scaling buffable and low weight.
@@IveBeenWithBrumapainted guardian sword is better
@@heskerterrer9724 Only because of bleed but that isn't viable of a lot of bosses in a ng cycle. The Scimitar and the falchion on the other hand are much easier to get.
Only at 4:47 but 40% DPS buff from Power Within is nothing to scoff at, and I don't think (in most cases) that the time spent healing is enough to counteract that fully. That being said, I don't know yet if you have something else in mind that wouldn't allow you to use it and would be better, but also FYI Power Within lasts 100 seconds. Just found your channel and loving your vids so far
A little surprised you did a DPS video without power within? Great video though, a good watch and just makes me want to do yet another DS1 run
I think I mention power within at some point? I don't remember when, but I mention something about the DOT not being worth it
@@solarpellets you said that at 4:40 :3
It's barely noticeable when it comes to raw dps. The reason this specific sword is one of the best is do to its attack speed and scaling not its final ar.
I honesty hadnt even realised the painting guardians weapon was any good. Great video.
It's good in ds3 as well
I love Manus.
This was a very refreshing video and I fully agree with your last statements, that challenge runs don't always have to be hard.

Hey! Great video as always.
Regarding the accessibility thing you mentioned, and as a soon to be video game programmer (5 months to graduate and start looking for a job on the field). This is my personal opinion:
There are a lot of aspects that come into play whilst talking about accessibility, and it doesn't always relate to difficulty selections.
(There are exceptions tho)
For changing gameplay on difficulty sliders as I think it should be done you should have to create different attacks for the enemies, enable ones, disable others, change % of attacks being used. But normally there isn't time to pass through the game and check what should be changed for every enemy. And even if there was time, it would be invested in other areas of the game.

Manus is fire, but you have to play it like the hand is the boss.
First vid from you i’ve seen, ur pretty cool keep it up
Chances are someone mentioned this before, but you cannot increase either the damage or duration of weapon buffs by using rings.
The obvious choice here would be the Grass Crest Shield for this build, but experimentation is always fun.
great video man and i can't wait for the demon greataxe vid
I'm thinking of doing a balder side sword build soon, too, that one was a big one back when people cared about the meta in this game
If you jump attack the asylum demon from that ledge AND the Taurus demon, you’ll do a double hit

I also thought it had a cooldown, actually. Good to know, I have a run in mind where that will be very useful
You haven’t lived until you’ve had 4+ people, invaders and cooperaters both, spamming the pendant on the bridge

Can you buff crystal weapons? I know you can't repair them, but even if you can't buff them that would probably be better for the DLC, at least
Bro power within lasts 100 seconds, and buffes not only weapon damege, but moonblade too
One challenge run that I've thought would be interesting to see is: A bow without lock on or crossairs. (I feel like it would be difficult, But not insanely difficult or impossible.)
And the challenge could be characterized as sort of: Aiming and shooting the bow, More similar to real life aiming a bow in the middle ages/ Medieval Era.
I was gonna say that's basically a crossbow run, but I realized you said no locking on lol
That could be fun, I'll put it on my list

I saw that painting guardian blade and thought no fucking way
You say you're alright with the bed of chaos?
Complete and utter BLASPHEMY.
But it's fun. Different, but fun.
I'll agree on different.
i feel like having 49(manus catalyst cuts 99 castings in half) dark beads is potentially higher dps since youre not stamina locked and you have somewhat better range since you still want to be close enough to land all projectiles
Cool vid, made me subscribe, waiting for more.
Consider doing some challange runs in DS3 too :)
I have a couple I want to try in DS3, but I'm not very good at it yet lol. Hopefully I will be soon, though
"This game needs and easy mode." Miss me with that rubbish.
Nice video dude
The faster one kills Sif, the better. Less suffering for Sif.
the Falchion is probably better than the painting guardian sword with it's higher Ar while having the same moveset.
Yeah, but passive is boring lol
I like greatswords, great hammers, and greataxes for that exact reason, you can get a ton of damage on every single punish as long as you read it well.

4-hit combo sucks, but it has a 2-second tell where he rears back with a little roar, and that's usually just enough time to backflip away from the slam jam.
okay, in case someone (in the comments) havent told you, the Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring and Lingering Dragoncrest Ring both do not have stat requirments.

it would be fun to see a chaos blade or a lifehunt scythe run because of their gimmicks.
I'll definitely look into both of them
@@solarpellets you could also make things more interesting with not levelling vitality

I actually did a Demon greataxe darkmoon blade run before in ds1, the moveset was... not great, so much so that I actually ended up using jump attacks as my most reliable move
The fact you said the fap ring is bad is just so weird it is known as the best ring in the game and it’s why everyone uses it for basically every play through
Love your tempo
manus' dark magic attacks are absurdly easy to dodge once you understand how they work, I don't think i've ever even used the silver pendant defensively in that fight its just not really needed

Yeah, it's decent if you're not trying to do something specific, but if you're not getting hit anyway or need the ring slot, it's not detrimental to get rid of it
I did this build for ng4 when I was doing the platinum and it was so good and easy
12:23 that wasnt for fun that was for revenge lol
DMB isn't... Entirely... the best Buff in the game, there are some instances where SLB is slightly better, however this requires you to abandon DMB entirely, but for those not wanting to use DMB, SLB is a very close 2nd in strongest buffs (barring Force Buffing any Magic based weapon with CMW... which literally is the best Glitch buff bar none)
Edit: Didn't use Power Within for that 50% full attack boost and GIANT +30 stamina regen boost, allowing for a massively increased DPS and stamina sustain...
Hey no offense but could you talk a little slower? I like watching your videos but as a non-English speaker it's a little hard to follow when you talk so fast, as always a good video was fun to watch
Try setting the video to x0.75, it works for me.
Darn, I was hoping I talked slow enough this time. It's definitely something I'm trying to work on
@kip_xo that's exactly what I was hoping my videos would be, I'm glad I've fulfilled that goal on my part :3
@@solarpelletsSomething about your voice and cadence reminds me of hanging with mates from school
@@WaywardPython watch more fast paced videos my guy.

no you can throw a Lloyd's talisman and loot it without killing the mimics same as the other mimic loot
@@thesongofthelinnet but that's boring
@Solarpellets dude, slow the hell down when you are talking or PROPERLY ENUNCIATE YOUR WORDS! plz thx
4 kings is quaking.
It always feels like you're desperately telling me a secret or trying to share some forbidden madman's knowledge before something happens to the knowledge inside of you. I kinda like it
It's true, I need to get it out or I'll go insane
That or I'm just autistic and have adhd and know too much about the game because it's a special interest.
It says DS2 in the description
Lightning blade is overall better tho, especially for PvE. More bosses resist magic compared to lightning
Great video but try to speak a bit louder
Hope you succeed on this platform
whats the name of the soundscape
I used songs from Demon's souls, Dark Souls 1, and Dark Souls 2. I don't remember exactly what I used in this video, but my usual selection is souls of mist, maiden in black, and tower knight from Demon's Souls, Souls of fire, Firelink Shrine, Nameless Song, and Gwyn's theme from Dark Souls 1, and Majula and fire keepers from Dark Souls 2.
Talked smack about my astora straight sword, sadge
I do not know the ways, I've never done a build based around it. It's usually just a stepping stone to the crescent axe for me
died on gargoyles, did we? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
love seeing another new dark souls challenge runner like myself X3
Woah, cool, another new challenge runner girlie :3
@@solarpelletsnew challenge runner girlie = new friend X3
Dex Faith was always the goat.
Ooooooo, 8:00 not happy you didn’t use the weapon just because you didn’t want to get back to Andre….
