    4:05 This sounds a lot like something Dain says in the Teyvat chapter trailer about Natlan. "The rules of war are woven in the womb, the victors shall burn bright while the losers must turn to ash" - Dainsleif

    Have you considered the imposter might be a former lieutenant of the PO, corrupted by Abyssal energy during the war, in much the same way that Chiyo was? As such the 2nd throne still loses the war against the PO as is implied by GoF, and Enka, but the ruler of Celestia is still insane. Such a former lieutenant becomes a candidate for first heir, since they now consider themselves the ruler and not the PO.

    • @genshinlorebytes
      @genshinlorebytes  ปีที่แล้ว +19

      Indeed! It could even be that the imposter is one of the four shades that became corrupted and rebelled against the PO, possibly the shade related to space (like istaroth is to time).
      Thanks for your comment!

    hi ! honkai and genshin lore pro here. i think it's also worth noting that the unknown god is clearly modeled after the herrscher of the void from hi3 who has space distortion abilities, but what's more is that HoV is the mc kiana kaslana being posessed by her "alter ego" . when HoV takes control, her eyes change from BLUE to orange in the exact design as the sustainer's, and her powers too, become dark overall. this could just be proof that hoyo loves using the blue to red contrast to signify good and evil, BUT if we want to reach a little, maybe in the traveler voice lines that say "the sustainer is fading", unlike we all thought, doesn't mean that she is losing power or such, but maybe that she really is infected, or possessed, maybe even from something like forbidden knowledge or such. not to mention, her right arm design has a glitch type of effect that might also suggest corruption. when you look behind her at the star gate she creates, two stars are dark red and the center is orange. kiana's abilities also had an orange hue prior to being possessed by the HoV. we know hoyo loves kiana ( even though they love giving her the bad ending ) so i wouldn't be surprised if they actually gave her a role this big, instead of making another expy of her down the line, after all, we already know the other two in the main trio, mei and bronya are already being introduced as key characters, archons, so they really might go down the route of possibly seeing a healed sustainer reveal she is one of the four shades that was somehow corrupted. OR it could be the second throne entirely who has taken the appearance of the primordial one, who would look like kiana, but of course with the evil dark hue twist. also worth noting that paimon is also designed after kiana so them being somehow connected, maybe one being a shade of the other, seems more and more likely.

    I think that the reason why Celestia if today prohibits the book Before sun and Moon, because it was not written in Teyvat, therefore, could not be erased from the Tree.
    And it is the only direct mention of the Primordial one and it's shades.
    However, there is the Flower of Paradise Lost, which says "Master of the four shades"

    Also, I think the shades, at least, the shade of time, battled or battles erasure using a myriad of names, such as:
    Istaroth
    Kairos
    Thousand winds
    Thousand winds of time
    'some other name from the books of Enkanomians, something alike to Watatsumi Omikami (Orobashi's name), but for Kairos'
    Y'know, can't erase every record of a person if that person just keeps creating more

    Using the artifact theory: the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles controls space, represented by the Goblet, colors red and black, demon name also known as Asmoday. Istaroth is Kairos, a deity with power of time, but not like Chronos, and more like moments in time, represented by the Sands of Eon, color magenta. Two remain: the flower of life and the plume of death. These are the four shades. 3 shades are required to control the Loom of Fate, working as The Fates. I think the last two remaining shades are Aria - the figure who gives the blessing of the welkin moon, as some theorize the 4 shades were also represented as moons. Aria probably represents the flower of life, as she gives gems that we use to summon characters and constellations into this world. Only one remains... Paimon, as the plume of death.

    • @genshinlorebytes
      @genshinlorebytes  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the sustainer is a shade, I agree it being the controller of space is what makes sense the most. As for paimon being a shade, I would bet on Istaroth (Kairos), but I love the idea of Paimon the death shade! :D

    • @Rozherhn
      @Rozherhn ปีที่แล้ว +7

      The loom of fate is not part of Celestia, this was confirmed in Caliberto's mission.
      In this he makes it clear that the loom of destiny is governed by the abyss, which is the sinner we know, he calls himself the loom of destiny.
      It really makes sense since it was the events related to the abyss that moved the history of Teyvat, forced the fate of everyone, and made it almost impossible to avoid already predicted events such as the fall of Khaenri'ah.
      Celestia has never had the power to manipulate destiny, if she had it, she would have prevented the abyss from coming a long time ago and it depended on humans for it to evolve and advance.

      By the way, a mini theory: Paimon is a fragment of phanes or what is left of phanes, its "Bad" part or rather its weak, childish, gluttonous, fearful, weak part and afraid that people close to it will disappear.

      @@genshinlorebytes Paimon as Istaroth is like "good ending" for me lol. I really wished she was evil. If the statue in Inazuma is a representation of Istaroth , her hair does resemble Paimon, although not perfectly.

    • @arosdeco1629
      @arosdeco1629 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Rozherhn The loom of fate is not in posession of Celestia, you are correct. In greek mithology, however, 3 fates are required to operate the Loom of Fate. Maybe that is the reason the abyss is not using it/didn't use it yet. They need to lure at least 3 of the 4 shades and force them to cooperate. This is all speculation, though.

  • @Rozherhn
    @Rozherhn ปีที่แล้ว +17

    theory:
    I don't think there is an impostor on the throne of celestia, in fact I believe that the throne of celestia no longer exists as such, I even doubt that phanes is alive, and the second is the sinner who became the loom of fate that now Against his will, Tevyat is led into an apocalypse where the abyss will win, condemned Tevyat to become barren and turn everything into a "sea of golden sands" just like the original world of the twins.
    Phanes used all of his power (including his own life force) along with the 7 elements and the "throne of celestia" to seal the abyss, splitting together the powers of the 7 elements at the end of it all.
    The second to come was not left as leader but he himself realized his mistake, since he only wanted to free his beloved Seele princess, who was one of the 3 moon sisters, but in the end he was the one who condemned the Seeles Since its existence depended entirely on celestia, in the end, together with Phanes, it became the seal that retains the identity of that being that cannot enter the dimension of Teyvat, and now called the sinner, becoming the loom of destiny. that not even celestia can escape.
    In the end, the journey of the twin of the abyss and its truth is all a lie that was given by the abyss, following the same plan that they did with the dragons, deceiving the precise beings so that they detrulla teyvat thinking that it was saved.
    PS: I highly doubt that Celestia is the bad one in history, even more so after so much sacrifice made by the gods and so much destruction brought by the abyss.

    • @HenSt-gz7qj
      @HenSt-gz7qj ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Yeah i think i read a similar story decades ago, where there's no one on the heaven, an empty throne, and ruined palace.
      Everything is a facade made by "someone" who wants to hide the fact that god no longer exist, only the shadow... that is abyss, left in the world.
      The one we thought was the culprit, actually been trying to protect the world from panic and chaos, making himself the villain so the abyss won't be released.

  • @thelostyaksha

    I think Paimon is the Primordial one, her motif fits the bill. Also this chinese game's chinese name '原神‘ is directly translated to 'original god’ and Paimon is on the logo.

      Granted: maybe you are right and we are building castles on thin air. But that's the thing with story building: Things that are meant to be revealed late in the story will only slightly be hinted at in early chapters (if at all). With the only price being the risk of being wrong, building theories upon small details is, at the very least, an enjoyable pursuit, and at best, a path that leads directly to the heart of the truth.

    I am @ 5:29 and just thought of a new crack theory bc what was said …Apep never mentions “a second usurper” soooo hear me out lolol whst if the “second who came” is the abyss itself ?? And “humanity” that the primordial one cherished so much (aka Khaenriah) were the ones who unleashed it (whether that be accidental or on purpose) and that’s why the nails got dropped ?? Like the circlet said Phanes didn’t want to do it but his hand was basically forced
    Like I said a whole crack theory but potentially plausible 😅

    • @genshinlorebytes
      @genshinlorebytes  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Love it! There might be a timeline problem with that, as some of the nails were dropped much earlier than the Khaenri'ah Desaster (sumeru for instance), but the nails being a last desperate attempt from the PO to keep the 2nd out from entering teyvat from the abyss or something along those lines, is a nice train of thought to follow :). Thx for the comment!

    Fantastic video! There's one small issue I noticed, however - Apep *does* seem to mention a second war. In fact, she seems to *only* be mentioning that second war:
    "The Dragon King/Nibelung acquired the power of darkness from outside of this world and led us in a fight against the order established by the outsiders."
    This implies that an order had already been established by the outsiders/the Primordial One. -> The initial war with the dragons had already come to an end, and the Primordial One had created the Human Realm.
    Apparently, although he had lost, Nibelung left Teyvat and acquired the power of Forbidden Knowledge. Then, he returned and fought the Primordial One again, supported by his dragon brethren. In that second war, he then died.
    What makes me so convinced that we're talking about the second war here is that it's referred to as such: "An unimaginable war took place in Teyvat, causing destruction on an unprecedented scale. The world itself was on the verge of collapse." The war with the Second Who Came in Before Sun and Moon is described very similarly: "That day, the heavens collapsed and the earth was rent asunder." The first war against the dragons is described as a long one, but not as a world-destroying one. This would make sense as well, because Nibelung becoming stronger through Forbidden Knowledge would indeed take this war up a notch compared to the previous war.
    But that's just my interpretation of these events. I can certainly see your side as well - so while I'm leaning towards the "the Primordial One changed after the war with the Second Who Came" camp, I could definitely see Nabu Malikata (and all of Teyvat) having been fooled by the Second Who Came too.
    That aside, there is one interesting detail that I'd like to point out - the most important thing Apep said that I've seen almost everyone overlook ever since:
    "At that time, I still harbored deep regrets. By the time the Dragon King finally returned, the world had irrevocably changed."
    This is Apep talking about what happened AFTER the war with the Second Who Came (who I theorize to be Nibelung). Sumeru was already a desert, and Amun wanted to create his kingdom there. Nibelung... should have already died long ago. But Apep still mentions ANOTHER return.
    There are two possibilities: Either the Second Who Came wasn't Nibelung, and there was a 3rd world-destroying war that took place after the war with the Second Who Came and before the Archon War - we have no supporting evidence for this, so we can almost entirely disregard this idea - or although Nibelung died, he managed to revive in some way, shape or form. Alternatively, this could also be a Neuvillette situation, where it's merely Nibelung's successor who took over the role of Dragon King.
    In any case, to me, that was the most important detail amongst Apep's recounting of events. Just wanted to share it xD
    To whoever reads this, may you have a beautiful day! o/

      I have to admit that Apep's account had several things in it that I still today find difficult to nail into a concrete interpretation ^^.
      Nibelung being the 2nd who came is also one of my favorite hypotheses that fit into the narrative.
      I really can't wait for another hint to all of this dropping soon.

    7:45 It's kind of obvious now that the twins have something to do with where these nails come from. Traveller also possesses that ability when he cleansed Dvalin's tear (what is a tear?), plus right after the Chasm came out and I went down to see the nail, I thought these constellation looking things floating around the nail look exactly like the Traveller's idle animation. So the twins are from the same civilisation as the one who built that place in the Heavens (was it the primordial one? or somebody else?)
