    great review!- thanks for this, in your benchmarking sections could you include comparisons between previous models?
    it’s hard to tell if the i7-1360P is much of an upgrade over the original 1260P or 1280P :)

    What I want are:
    - FHD+ Non-touch OLED screen option
    - 14 inch form factor
    - AMD's phoenix apus OR and probably better Snapdragon X Elite
    and that would be an instant buy for me.

    The XPS-13, being the same size as European A4 paper, is great for travelling, as it fits into the room safe in European hotels - with a little room to spare. I doubt whether the larger models would fit. I've just ordered one XPS-13 from Dell, and it is expected to arrive soon. This will replace my existing XPS-13, from 2013 (yes - it's 10 years old) which still works fine, although the battery life is reduced, it's getting a bit slow compared to modern systems, and it can't run Windows 11. I hope that this replacement will continue to work well for the next ten years.

    I like the sound side-by-side comparison. The Apple MacBook's sound is significantly better.
    Making a laptop small and light requires some compromises, say in the number of ports the laptop has. Last time I've upgraded monitors, I bought a model that has built in hub & KVM + can be thunderbolt 4 daisy chained to each other, and connected all the peripherals to them. This way, one thunderbolt 4 connection gets all the peripherals connected to my XPS 13. When my desktop broke down, I kept on working as usual without reconnecting any of the cables. I had to copy files from PC to PC, and the XPS 13's performance isn't as good as my desktop's, but that's not a number of ports issue.

    I am actually planning to buy a laptop and XPS 13 plus is one of my top choices.
    I am not planning to play any games and use heavy programs on it, mostly Microsoft office and watching Netflix. The most important point for me would be display quality. the battery life is also important. I am a bit worried about the XPS model in terms of battery life and thinking about getting the Asus Zenbook 14X OLED instead. Do you think it would be a better option? Any suggestions on other laptops models?

    A Dell XPS 14 Plus and XPS 16 Plus (2024) would be very welcomed as I appreciate larger displays. Having said that, this is a pretty good laptop considering some of its annoying issues such as lack of available ports, soldered WiFi card and RAM. Understandably, this was done to make it as thin and light as possible. If these annoyances don't really bother you, it's a good one for what you want it to do. Thank you once again Andrew for your six-month update review on the Dell XPS 13 Plus (2023). 👍😁

    Also, the Dell's haptic touchpad implementation is poor compared to Apple's and even Microsoft's, the lack of delineation makes it hard to use for me (and those who have accessibility issues), the not touch bar is stupid, and the lack of ports makes Apple look generous in comparison with their M2 MacBook Airs.

    I like my 13.4 inch 4k XPS 13 9300. I just need Dell to bring back the ports that are on my 9300 in an XPS Plus chassis, add a 90Hz refresh and give me a 1080p webcam. Now, if Dell does all this on a new 14inch XPS Plus, I'm OK with it too. On another note, the sound from the XPS 13 Plus doesn't seem to be a huge upgrade from my 9300. There's improvement, but not much. PC manufacturers have always struggled when it came to speakers and sound on their laptops. It's the same thing on the mobile front for Android manufacturers, but I digress. Anyway, hey Andrew! 👋🏿 I trust you are doing well. ✌🏿

Remember when plugged in only one USB-C port is available for use. It is an excellent pc for portability and for those who need this then this is a good choice. Excellent review.

    I have the 1260p 16gb ram and I love it, but I wonder if I should have bought the 32gb model, and or to sell it and upgrade to the 1360p. Do you have an idea of how much an improvement one gets from going from 16gb ram to 32gb ram? for photo editing in particular.

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I don’t this there is a big enough increase in performance between last year’s model and this year’s model to warrant spending the extra money. I also don’t think you will see that big of a difference between 16GB and 32GB RAM.
