    3:32 here's the trick man for 90°. See those 2 tubes on the table?
    Clamp them as they are, drag a piece of metal across the top of both. Then do the same with a set square or offcut of square tube on the sides.
    To do 180° markings, space the 2 tubes off the bench say 1". Then get a ruler/scrap flatbar and drag it under both tubes touching the table and both tubes along the length. Repeat on the top

    Justin I would of mounted the rectangle tube horizontal up on the wall for an over head rack. Up out of the way and easy to reach. This will also make it so you can fit more. Plus adding extra pipes for C-clamps a must.

    • @JustVoss
      @JustVoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good idea, you would have to make sure it’s mounted really solid in that direction though.

      @@JustVoss Ya maybe adding three gussets with mounting plates or angle iron moving it off the wall 2 inches.

    Hi Justin, Jose from Puerto Rico. I just got in my Fronius TransSteel 2200. I'm in no way near your league. Furthermore, I'm 66 and learning to weld. It's something that I always wanted to learn, so I made an investment in this machine and the way it's built, one can see that Fronius pulled no punches when they made it. You see the quality. Anyhow, watching you make things inspires me to learn. I'm using flux core for now, and maybe later I'll get a tank to try out the other phases of MIG welding. Let's see how it goes for me.

    Nice video, and a great and simple project for the beginner fabricator. I've seen and built dozens of variations of this type of tree based on friend's or customer's requests. This one is perfectly adequate. Well done. Also, there's a glut of fabrication videos on TH-cam and this content maker has a pleasant and easy going style that is hard to beat. Thanks for the video, Mr. Voss. Subscribing...NOW!

    The easiest way to draw a line along the round is to use a piece of angle iron

    • @bloop6812

      Or V-Blocks especially if you do a lot of welding

  • @outdoorzone

    I’ve learned that most synergy settings on most machines for mig I’ve run are set one thickness to high…back it up one thickness and it will be good!!! Example: if your welding 18ga. Set machine for 20ga!

    Cool concept and always appreciate how detailed you are about each little step. Could easily just say “I cut slots in each pipe” and move along but instead you detailed your methods for precise marks, etc. which is worthwhile info as a viewer. Not sure if your pipe size would work for slitting grinder discs and such but that would be a good alternative use case for someone that didn’t yet have a full collection of those clamps to fill the rack with. Just slide the center hole of the discs around the pipe I mean

  • @jonathanblue7737
    @jonathanblue7737 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Two things I would've done differently:. I would've used angle to close out the ends, so you automatically have the hanging/mounting tabs, and I would've drilled a stop hole and stopped the slots about 1/2" from the welded ends. Other than that, loved the video!

    • @JustVoss
      @JustVoss  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I thought about the angle too, just didn’t have any. Stopping the slots is a good idea, would keep the clamps from banging against the back of the rack.

    very interesting....... All my clamps are comfortably hanging already, but maybe I need to build rack like this as it just might be more efficient use of my space. The only downside I can imagine is the clamps closest to the inside wont get as much use as the ones on the outside. 🤣😂🤣
