its easy to forget how dominant jermaine o neal was at his peak, there were MORE dudes though. antoine walker, antonio mcdyess, kenyon martin. carlos boozer. eldon brand!?!?1 shit.
Well he had experience with that before he even got to the league because they both played in college in the ACC, so they saw each other at least twice a year.
Talk about a dude that would be even more valuable now. Sheed was way ahead of his time in the sense that he shot 3's could defend and play the pick n roll, and could defend multiple positions. I'd love to see him play today
Rasheed Wallace was a force to be reckon with. Very talented and skilled. Without Sheed Detroit doesn't win the 2004 NBA Championship. His game was complete.
Put Mamba Mentality in Rasheed skillset and body. You get greatest player ever. And it probably wouldn’t be a debate. I think that player would end up with stats, rings, longevity. Especially in that era.
@astrowerm even though AI is ranked among the top 30-40 players all-time, he wasn't the leader Chauncey was. I know that AI led his team to the finals once, but I think that year was the only year in his career that he's played in the conference finals. Chauncey played in seven conference finals; six in Detroit, one in Denver.
As a lifelong Pistons fan, I was a huge SHEEEEED fan. Loved hearing his trash talk live at the palace at every home game. He was so intense, he impacted games from the bench.
He was one of my favorite players. Had lefty jumper as well which he used in actual NBA game. Never seen that from any other player in history. That says it all about his talent level. Ball dont lie.
I love Rasheed, he tore my heart out in 2004, but I loved the way he played the game. And the "both teams played hard," post game interview was brilliant.
I had the privilege of meeting and talking to Rasheed Wallace at a restaurant that I worked at! Amazing man! Truly deserved his great career in the NBA! Hope to have a basketball career as long and as prominent as his!
Got alot of respect for Rasheed Wallace you should also cover Chris Webber Antonio McDyess Vin Baker Shareef Abdur Rahim Antawn Jamison Zach Randolph and Elton Brand
I always say sheed and kg were the best pfs of the 2000s. Duncan had the perfect situation so he didn't have to carry a franchise but still great. Sheed and kg were naturally athletic, intelligent, aggressive with charisma. I look at more than stats.. they had impact too with lesser talented teammates
Yesss! Thank you for this one. Easily one of my favorites growing up.. I know Timmy was held to a high regard, but I think between Sheed, KG and CWebb were among the best pf in that era. The Jail Blazers was a team that I thought were gonna win or 2 back then.
KG was a clear #2 in those days , Cwebb put up better #’s but Sheed had better range and was a better defender , i would prolly take Webb over Sheed but u cant go wrong wit either , Tim, KG and Dirk were the clear big 3 tho
4 th pick of the Draft and the Bullets just gave up on him Then gave up on Ben Wallace and Rip Hamilton I felt so proud to see them win and that’s when I gave up on all hopes of DC ever winning anything in my lifetime

Massively underrated player but one correction. He all of people did NOT actually receive any punishment for the Malice At The Palace (no fine, no suspension, nothing). He suited up next game vs Bobcats normally.
He was good as all those guys. Man was by far the best player on all the teams he was on til he left Detroit. The fact Brian Grant ever started over him shows just how biased coaches back then were in playing young players. Pace of all the teams he was on definitely hurt his points and rebounding numbers. Only reason numbers weren’t the greatest in offense in Detroit was to spread the floor with his 3 point shooting since Ben was just taking up space down there on the offensive end. He was known at the time to be the most skilled big man in the post but his ability to shoot from which 99% of the league lacked man sacrificed his game to make his teammates better so they could win.
I was a hardcore Blazers fan back in the day, during the shortened season, i believe 99, i went and saw them play a number of times, and Sheed was my fav player! He was unstoppable, but just never felt comfortable being the go-to guy, and you could see it. And unfortunately Dunleavy, and his teammates, just never realized how great he was. That 4th quarter collapse against the Lakers in 2000, to this day it infuriates me how he barely touched the ball, and instead we had ancient ass Pippen dribbling around missing shots, or Damon launching threes, or Steve Smith launching ill-advised shots. Our last bucket came off of Pippen driving and missing which then Sheed got a tip-in dunk off of. But because he was never the "gimme the ball" kind of guy, he far too often would fade into the background offensively. What both he, and more importantly that team, needed was somebody to be like, "listen Scottie, Damon, Steve, you guys are good, but Sheed's next level right now and score much easier than any of you - so I'm sorry, but in big games we're getting him as many touches in the post or off of a pick and pop as possible." Even Robert Horry said the same damn thing not to long ago, bout how he was stunned how Sheed wasn't getting 50 touches a game like Shaq was getting, uz that's the level he was on - in terms of how unstoppable he was in the post. Everyone talks about his outside shooting, nah - his post game was where he was elite.
I thought Sheed was better than Duncan while at UNC and in his early years in the league. Later in his career, he was an undisciplined shooter. Always great in the playoffs, and entertaining to watch.
Sounds like me. After Barkley...I latched on to KG and 'Sheed My Two favorite big men (equally) not afraid to bang it out. Miss that era. I was spazzing when Boston went after my heart as they tried to mimick my 2k franchise teams by putting both 'Sheed and KG in Boston...together. Wish they could had gotten chip 2 together. Wish they teamed up several years earlier.
I would put him in a level before with Garnet, Webber, Duncan, Nowitzki, etc those were the top power forwards in the past. Rasheed won with a ragtag team of hardworkers.
I have always loved Sheed since his NC days. And I'm a Duke fan. Great video for one of my favorite power forwards 👏. Sweet justice winning over the Lakers
Hell nahh he was barely a top 5 player at his position back in his era , Duncan , KG, DIRK , Webb / Sheed Then you still had the Amare and Pau’s of the world , he was a great player tho but top 75 is a stretch
This man was a great basketball player He could create his own shot at any time And he could guard just about anyone And at times he was almost unstoppable when he was hot 🔥 I am so glad that he was with Detroit when they won the championship in 04 Against one of my favorite players Kobe Bryant
My Top 3 PF was KG, Timmy D, & Sheed Wallace those three was all=around eptiome of what you wanted your 4 to be, play-style and heart and not to mention his ability to play both ways and be efficient for any team he played for offensively/defensively. In My Opinion

Sheed was ahead of his time and also one of the most talented players to play the game. Unfortunately he had anger mgt issues and also wasn't that dedicated to basketball but man was he talented. He was basically the unicorn everyone is chasing now with Wemby, Chet, Bolbol, Mobley etc just an athletic PF/C who can defend the paint, keep up with forwards, score in the post and also spot up for 3s.
What i always loved about ' Sheed is that he was a team guy FIRST. He didn't care about stats, just contributions and wins.He is arguably the 2nd most talented PF ever. That Detroit Atlanta trade for Rasheed was the Best thing for his Career he won a Championship 🏆 in his prime but Portland Rasheed was a Beast but Detroit rasheed was a Savy Veteran Salute the OG Rasheed
U gotta do this over because u didn't touch on Sheed exposing the RiggedBA exploits & being vindicated, when it came out that refs were fixing games. Especially, in that Lakers series of the 2000s the 2006 ECF vs Cavs. Reupload put that into the profile of Sheed
who could forget sheed - ball don`t lie - great on defence, unselfish, postgame, middy - you name it. And who could forget "Both teams played hard - god bless and good night."😂 i doubt there will ever be another player like him.
