the main reason they added the gun was because of the competitive scene where pro players would only buy half Shields instead of full Shields since a lot of players would only go for headshots and never body shots. So they made a gun that one shots people with Half Shields so it can punished them for trying to save. Not to mention The outlaw barely has any skins yet.which rn only has like 5 right now including only one of them which just released like A few days ago has effects.

As a person who only uses consoles to play in the bed and "de-stress" for a while.
The decisition of Riot about launching Valorant for said platform is a pretty good one in my opinion.
The best part is how apparently it will not count with crossplay
amem brother, after the OW2 aim assist statistics after crossplay neither playerbase should want it. HIgh rank console players will get dumpstered while low rank pc will get dumpstered

I personally think that they should allow crossplay, while not making it mandatory. Like allowing people to invite friends to a crossplay lobby, but keep consoles and PC seperate if the players didnt start matchmaking in a mixed lobby

It really is baffling the prices of skins in this game. But I see it that people that buy skins are either A. Really Good or B. Enjoy the game thoroughly. Personally I've reached radiant for 6 episodes now and dropping a couple hundred on a game I'm really good at & enjoy, doesn't feel bad. That doesn't mean the monetization isn't shit, because it is. The only obtainable free skins are those that you can earn from agent contracts, mind you those are only for pistols. But personally I rather blow a couple hundred on a game I thoroughly enjoy than a AAA filled with bugs that costs $100 and will be put down in 1-3 years.
I've seen more people gamble their life savings away on games than I hear in casinos

To be fair. That bundle is 3 variant for each gun. And the variant not just change the skin color, it change the animation, the effect, the finisher,… Feel like you buy 3 bundle instead of 1.
For the maps only 7 of them are actually available to play in competitive and they occasionally rotate in and out so you don't need to learn all of the maps

Saying that unlocking agents takes a lot of times while playing Apex is kinda wild. Not only Kingdom credits are easy to earn, but also Valorant at least gives you 2 agents at the start to choose from. Also when new agent is released, there is a special event when you can unlock them with earning XP.
yep I agree. Unlocking legends takes much much more time it really felt like like a "well I play apex since launch and always had a bazillion credits when legends were added so I have no idea how impossible it is to catch up"

Btw they didn’t add the outlaw to sell more skins they afford it because players just bought the lowest form of armor during full buy rounds since the time to kill is so short it’s cheaper to buy the worse armor, and the outlaw was added to disrupt this meta; TLDR it was to balance the game
Then they released the first Outlaw skin with VFX in a bundle that contains three (3) skins for 70 bucks. Don't be fooled into thinking that this is only about game balancing. It's also about skins.

@@dxcibel7772 I think both reasons are valid, but game balancing have more sense. Most people buy Melees, Vandals, Phantoms, Ghosts and Sheriffs, optionally Operators. If Riot wants more money, they just make unique skins for those guns e.g. Evori Dreamwings that just left the shop. Also it took them more than 6 months to add Outlaw skin with any effect.

6:36 while its not the only reason, the main reason for the outlaw being added was to combat a meta where people wouldn't buy heavy sheilds since a vandal/phantom would probably kill in one shot anyway. The outlaw fixed that issue and it now is niche weapon to use if someone does that strategy
not phantom. it was the overwhelming raise in vandal uses but yea i think it was a great attempt to punish that although it was more for the pro scene

I agree with everything you said except 1 point, valorants abilities are perfectly balanced power-level wise, most other games have abilities that are much weaker and don't affect gunplay, like apex, or are full blown hero shooters, like overwatch.
Valorant's strong abilities within a not-full-blown-hero-shooter framework is what makes it unique.

ive been playing for like 2 years (800-ish hours), im diamond 2 and i still love the game and yes, the skin prices are RIDICULOUS. other than that the new characters and maps are always so fun, i just wish they added more silly new gamemodes more often kinda like overwatach arcade. btw very cool vid, gets the jist of the game to people who havent played the game pretty well.

As a valorant player in immortal tbh i dont mind the skins being so overpriced as long as it allows riot to host the amazing events that they do for the pro scene. The prices are expensive but if you look at how much effort they put in to champions 2023 and events across the globe i think they deserve it tbh. I'm happy to pay 50$ every now and then to support the game
edit: can't argue with the battle pass quality though ngl its defo the worst ive ever seen in a game. Until they release like a box where you can get a random good quality skin from it will never be worth it. Except for radianite which is even more overpriced than valorant points
I really think if Riot just made a community market in-game, like how Siege is doing, it'd encourage price regulation, since they'd be competing with what the players think is a fair value.

The Vanguard system is pure stupid ,it barely stops hackers and combined with the TPM requirements means that you have to either downgrade(to WIN10) or get a new motherboard if you first played on a low budget build, other than that solid game

One thing you kinda missed is that the new weapon, the Outlaw, was actually added as a bit of a balancing weapon. Light shields make the most picked rifle, the Vandal, still take 4 shots to the body to get a kill, but costed less than half the price of heavy shields. This made them a lot more worth buying and it created a meta both in ranked and pro-scenes, so the Outlaw was made specifically as a middle ground to incentivise heavy shields more often, since its cheaper than other rifles and can take out someone without heavy shields to the body.

not really. Valorant monetization is as bad as other games. Just in other games you have seperate cosmetics (emotes, falling effects in apex and fortnite, voicelines etc.) while in Valorant they just put equivalents of those cosmetics on skins.

My only problem with Val right now is that they only have 7 maps in rotation for each episode, like I get that it’s for pro play but it would just feel so much better if they just had all the maps open for comp and unrated and just keep the 7 maps for pro play

I commented on a skin preview video, for the new 3.0 RGX bundle that the pricing is getting out of hands and refereed back to the time of the Prime bundle of 7100 VP (which is still a lot) - and some guy commented "bro is talking about a 5 year old bundle 😂😂".. I called him out for it, that not even the guy making the review could justify that absurd price. He then defended the price by saying that alcoholic people spend more on alcohol and that the skins will last longer.. that is an f'd up way to justify pricing for skins. Just because they set a price, doesn't mean it is a justified one..
I think he should have waited for the console release cause of the new stuff that would have come with it but am not complaining

surprisingly they did not make the outlaw for more weapon skin options. they actually made it because pros were buying vandals with light armor too often because a headshot with a vandal does 150 anyway so shields were useless. the outlaw does 125 damage to counter this meta by being a pseudo operator for earlier rounds which forces people to buy full armor.

what do you mean all the agents unlocked. I had 100% completion on every agents too.
I love the game in theory, but role based games end up being more frustrating than fun for me since everyone has a job to do and only they can do that job so one person not performing well can make the whole experience unfun. If your smokes suck, there's nothing you can do about it, if your info gatherers suck, there's nothing you can do about it. It's just annoying in solo queue but when everyone does their job and works together, the game feels complete.

Been playing valorant since day one, literally got the "day one" title and i find it to be very different now, from then. It feels a lot more fluid and balanced now and the maps definitely are fun to play now if they werent then. Overall I'd give Valorant a solid 7/10. The only things I dislike is the speed the game progresses, I am used to OW speeds, so yeah it's a bit slow compared. But I like it over all and it's really fun to play with friends.

Really wish macro talked about Swiftplay as its actually really good and single handedly brings in a lot of players (like me and my family). Its literally valorant but with a less stressful economy and without taking a decade a match.

I don't know how other people do it, but I buy only Phantom and Vandal skins, because you use it the most. I only bought 3 battlepasses - 2 when I started playing to have at least those recolors to every gun and then the 3rd one for Radianite points to upgrade my weapons. But I know others buy differently, especially 3 weeks ago the launched new cute bundle and I saw these skins almost every game.

I just started Valorant today. I've hit a couple of ok sniper shots, but I'm really bad otherwise. And yeah, the prices are weird. I really want to level up in the pass quickly so I can get the bubble pop and bumble brigade cosmetics.
The game is free to play, not all bundles are that expensive. As long as people keep buying (which they do) I don’t think there is an issue. Supporting the game with how many skins you want is a fair deal imo

As someone who used to play the game daily like 2 years ago I dropped it because I was disatified with the content cycle. An episode is 6 months and an act is 2 months. In the time that I have left there have been 5 new agents and 2 new maps. I know about map reworks but this is not enough content for the game to feel fresh. The content cycle for a year is 4 agents and 2 maps with the 1 new game mode and 1 new gun released since I left.
agreed but it’s a competitive game not a content type of game. but you’re right; the content even from content creators are boring af. 2v5 pro vs noobs, skin battles, hide in seek? yawn. at least and map creation or seasonal stuff on holiday. in the end of the day, players is what keeps the game alive not the pros
