Are you culturing Moina? Once you have starter culture in the container and fed for the first time, what's next?
Bloodworms, grindal worms, mosquito larvae, tubifex worms, moina, daphnia are most common live foods which are used to raise guppy or betta fish fry and adults to grow fast and healthy.
In this video you will get complete information about how to culture moina. Not only that but also how to raise, care and harvest moina and feed them to your guppy or betta or any other tropical fish.
I have explained a successful and proven way of growing moina without crash. Follow this simple technique to have a good moina harvest (I haven't faced a single crash from the time I started culturing moina).
You will know exactly how much to feed and how frequently to feed your moina. It all depends on when your culture water goes clean. Once the water is clean then you can feed again with yeast water which I call it as solution.

Do I have to use yeast or can I use aquatic spirulina?
Test is best. Spirulina may not work.
Can you use dechlorinated tap water?
Yes you can use. Add some rock salt into water.
@@practicalfishtalk5583 i don't have any rock salt, but I do have aquarium salt. I havent used it yet. Anyways, I placed the moina 20 gallon tank in a partially sunny part of the backyard. It doesn't have any airline tubing. It has a few duckweed, some old tank water from my fish tanks, and the water from the bottles the moina came in. I also put in some ramshorn snails in the tank. Is that ok? Also, i used tap water with seachem prime. Its the only dechlorinator I have at home.
Everything is fine. But don't add any clorine remover. If you can't find old water then use normal tap water. It may contain a small quantity of chlorine but it's ok. Do not add any chemicals like declorinater etc.

Hi. Without starter culture it is impossible. You may try on OLX for local breeders who sells moina

Excessive or less yeast solution maybe the reason. That's the only challange.

I like how you used a different net to help separate the adults from the babies. I don't know if you mentioned it, but whats the name of the nets you used or what size mesh/filter should I be looking for when trying to do that myself?
Hi. Thank you. They are coffee filtering nets. One is single layer and the other is double layer. Normally coffee filters are of same size everywhere. You may find it easily

What about keeping Moina in a big tub.... Is it that important to cloud the water with yeast? I have a 27 gallon black tub and I'm adding 500 starter culture.... ?
You can use a black tub. But it will be difficult to measure how much to feed as you won't be able to check it like u can do it in glass container. Cuz u can see through. If you are able to feed correctly then no problem.

Hi. You may add yeast solution and pack carefully like how we transport fish with enough oxygen. They would survive for 3 days without any problem. May stretch 5 days also. But soon after reached shift them into good water and feed immediately. They should be fine

Powder yeast would not give u 100 percent results

If u can make algae water correctly, only that is sufficient. But preparing algae water takes lot of time and more costs more than yeast water

Always in the shade. Heat will kill the culture. Always keep in room temperature
