- This smaller cousin of Daphnia is a great alternative to baby brine shrimp! Setting up a culture of your own is a fantastic way to feed your baby freshwater fish. If you aren't ready to start your own Moina culture just yet and want to try it out, come stop by our shop as we sell some!

"What kind of ponds do you find daphnia in?"
A filthy 50 gallon barrel that was a mix of rain water and duck pond drippings, half evaporated and exposed to 24/7 sun.
And like a fool, I dumped it all out. Now I'm here trying to find out how to make them happen on purpose lol
Hello have you try Yeast with spirulina powder? It might be more nutritious that yeast alone. And for the ph can we use baking soda?
Informative.
Definitely need to try this for my killi fish.
Great info. Thank you! I stopped using a bubbler for my moina. They seemed to crash a bit after so...
Loved this. Thank you. Going to set a few bottles up. Did you start the algae from a culture? How many hours are the lights on? Seems easier than trying to remember to feed three times a day.
Looks like Carolina Biological includes Nannochloropsis!
Thanks for another super informative post!
Very informative video I'm looking at these as an alternative to daphina. As this is the most competitive to date
Nice work guys very informative
Thanks for the information
How do you make the green water?
He was feeding it planted aquarium fertilizer. Keep the phosphorous and nitrogen up!
West michigan... cool
Thank you for the video! How often should the water be changed? I have 3 half gallon cultures and now I think I am going to increase to 3 one gallon cultures. I feed yeast at the moment. One of my cultures crashed hard like a week ago. So I am trying to figure out how to keep the water quality good. I was not feeding 3 sprinkles of yeast lol. I was feeding a full pinch. Maybe that has something to do with it. I also feed them spiraling powder. The problem with that is that its not live... so im sure it pollutes the water. That's why I want to know how often to change the water.
Thanks!
Thanks for making this video!
Can I put crushed egg shells as a source of calcium?
Has anybody used moina to feed blue eye or threadfin fry?
Hey thanks for this video. I've only tried it once and I failed. Hopefully I can be successful next time. Check out my fish room too
Outdoor temperature variations between night and day mixes the water naturally, It's a lot more subtle than an air stone.
Water can be too turbulent when using air stone similar to copepod culturing.
you could just pour half the culture, you didn't need a net
Dude. I need to teach you how tu cultive moina. That is not 100% efective. I hve cultive
Yes she doesn't know how to culture moina 😂
