      Hello Paul,
We stung this racquet with Hawk Touch 17G @51lbs - Richard

Question - why does Richard say beginner to intermediate, but Jon says intermediate to advanced? Would you say 4.0/4.5 is the highest level for a racquet like this (~6.5 UTR)? Too much power for more advanced players?

I've been playing the Blade 18x20 for years. This year, I've changed from the v7 version (SW 334) to the v8. I notice the lower SW of 327 quite a bit, e.g. I have less control on the follow through single backhand. That's why I'm a bit sceptical about the SW of 322 of the v14 X. I love control rackets that are suitable for one-handed backhands. How do you see the v14 X compared to the Blade v8 18x20? Thanks for your honest review!

      Hello Pinner,
If you are looking for control I dont quite think that the PS X is what you are looking for. Espically come from the Wilson Blade 18x20. How i see the PS X compared with the blade is that is you are looking for a racquet with more forgiveness, easier power and spin that you should go for the Prostaff. But if you are looking for a racquet that offers more plow through and control I would have to go with the Blade 18x20 which also has a smaller headsize of 98sq" IF you are looking for some frames that are similar to the blade 18x20 that have a similar feel but with a little more power you could always take a look into the Babolat PS 18x20 or the Yonex Vcore pro 97D - Richard

@@RacquetGuys Hi Richard, thank you for your assessment! Yes, I've already tested the Babolat PS 18x20. Definitely more power, but not the same control as the Blade IMO. I will also test the Yonex VCore. My tennis buddy has tested the VCore Pro and said it has even more control, like a train on rails, but the same amount of power and more spin potential than the Blade v7. Will definitely test this racket.

@@RacquetGuysow would you compare the 16x19 blade 98 v8 with the pro staff x or even the pro staff 97?

It is a string sensitive frame. I think you should try this with Luxilon Element Rough or 4G. Not quite sure Hawk Touch was a suitable string

      Hello Mustafa,
I would agree that the Pro staff X is "string sensitive" but every racquet is. All strings play and feel different in different racquets with the same string tension. Head Hawk Touch 17 is our Demo Racquets string of choice here at RacquetGuys, but thanks for your suggestion. - Richard

Might appeal to more players, but still a Pro Staff...too much stick for me...ha ha.
