Second that, having played with both versions of the v9. Theres one huge issue imo.... the weight. If they had a 315g option or even 310, this racquet would be a killer.
I ended up buying 2 blades, 4g at 3 & 9. Still feels like its missing something. Also, just realised the blade pro just came out, now im seriously conflicted@@jimclawley9117
I like both but honestly w/o much of the price difference, I chose the Pro Staff just because of the color. Yeah pretty spotty decision making but sometimes it's like that XD
I have a white Solinco 305. It got great reviews. I tried to add some weight at the 3 and 9 positions and the racquet reacted terrible. I tried at the 10 and 2 and just felt bad. Is this racquet just not made for modifications? I lowered the grams and just didn't mattered. Any ideas?
Hello Raymond, I would have to say it really does depend on what you are trying to get out of the racquet. 3&9 10&2 are very common places to put lead but theres a little more to it. do you know what your current static weight balance and swingweight of your frame is? how much you put on and where since that would affect those numbers and the feel of the frame. it really depends on how much and where you put it and if what you had was counter balanced unless of course its not needed for what you prefer. - Richard
Hello Highgate, Personally I didnt really notice to big of a difference between the sweet spot of both frames. Both were quite easy to find and were pretty forgiving imo. - Richard
I put on 3 and 9 four inches of tape lead (1 gr each)four strips total on both sides obviously, then 2 same strips on 12 , and on the inside butt cap another 5 grams of lead , 11 grams total and working perfectly replacement of RF v13,340 grams prostaff 😊
Nice video as I am deciding right now to upgrade my pro staff 97 v12 to either a blade or pro staff. I was also considering adding around 10g on the blade. What are your thoughts on it ? I like the stability of the pro staff and the serve factor. Please let me know
Hello there, As I mentioned in my ending statements, If i was able to customize the racquet I would absolutely go with the Blade over the Pro Staff. The extra weight that you would be adding i feel would help with the stability of the frame adding also a little more plow through. If you are coming from the v12 i think the blade would also be better. The v9 has a similar feel upon impact and probably a similar dwell time also. Where as the V14 plays much more responsive and is more of a point and shoot frame. - Richard
When I see these forehands, I know what is wrong with modern tennis. Make the head size smaller by rule, say smaller than 80. Then we will see interesting tennis again. Now, tennis is dying.
It is not dying, it is just in a new generation when things have changed, It is hard for a pro player in the Top 100 to play with head size 80 vs players 98-100 today. the same with any other sports such as Formula 1, cars also changed and run faster and bigger, there are also new sports that emerged similar to Tennis like Padel, Pickleball
I've been looking for this comparison for ages. This is the exact video i wanted to find and see! Thank you for the insight!

Did you notice any difference with hitting the sweetspot due to the slightly smaller head size with the PS?

Great review
Lets talk customization for the blade.. Where and how much grams would you put on it?

nice review, I think PS will be better for me. Thanks!
Love the detailed review. Considering buying both

I have Pro Staff version 13, added 2gram lead on both 9 and 3 and 1 gram in the handle. Much better for my gameplay.
@@RacquetGuysHi, what would you pick out of the 18x20 or the 16x19 blade. I was also thinking of adding 10 grams to the handle.
You would need to test swingweight on each given Wilson poor QA
