Don't know if you know but adidas came out with vegan versions of their classic shoes!! I know adidas isn't the most ethical, but i was still so happy to see the vegan movement make such an impact on the mainstream
THANK YOU HANNAH! I was just looking to buy some new vegan shoes and was looking so long and didn’t find any I like. after looking for 5 min found the perfect pair thanks to you!!! ❤️❤️❤️
For anyone in the comments, I just contacted Vans a little while ago (I’m in the US), customer service told me the white Sk8-Hi version are not vegan - they have cow skin in the ankle lining and the side stripe as well.
The Sk8-Hi's in True White are vegan-friendly. It is the only color Sk8-Hi that is -- it uses synthetic leather. I just confirmed with US Van's customer service again to be sure. :)
@@wakeupinwinter They are superrrr inconsistent. I had to have them go back and check because initially, they told me no, but I have an email from their customer service from 2018 confirming they are! Super confusing -- I wish they would just label it to make it clear! And anytime!
I had 22 pair of skin shoes but I gave it all to second hand shop and have now bought so far 10 pair of vegan shoes. I will change all my wardrobe 😇 /Sweden
I used to think secondhand leather was okay, but then I thought ‘would I ever buy secondhand dog or cat leather? How are cows any different?’ The damage isn’t just the making of it/killing the animal, but walking around thinking innocent animals’ skin should be clothing. It’s tragic, and I hope someday people see cow skin as equally unacceptable to wear as dog skin
It is not that black and white. I mentioned in the beginning of the video that second hand is the most sustainable, but having the option to NOT shop at fast fashion is also a PRIVILEGE for many and it would be ignorant to disregard that point. I’m sharing a wide variety of options here, and I don’t think shaming people for shopping at certain places is ok.
@@HannahWeseloh thrifting is the best option or saving up money to buy what you really want...like vegan doc martens because even though they're expensive, they're worth it and we value them so much more
@@i123456987654 I get what you're saying and as I mentioned in the video, the black booties I have from Asos I've had for 5 years. They are getting a lot of great use, and are 1/4 the price of vegan doc martens. Where I disagree with you is that not everyone has the option to save up for doc martens. So essentially you're saying lower income people aren't allowed new things -- they must thrift or have nothing. I disagree with that sentiment and find it to be classist. I am glad you are making decisions that make you feel like a good person. We should celebrate any strides to do better, rather than point out where people fall short.

YES! Any stride to a more animal-friendly world is to be celebrated! So awesome.
I was really interested in those, but I watched some reviews and they said that they're stiff and narrow, that's not good for shoes 😅🤭😝

Hannah, you should never dance in high heels. Nice shoes, though!
I personally at 3 pounds of meat watching this
