It feels like the modern world has so many ways that we avoid living well: Netflix, scrolling socials, ordering food, alcohol, drugs, buying things. That’s why so many of us (including myself) crave renewal and change. I feel like in many ways we aren’t supposed to live this way. We want to go back to a life where things were more simple and progress felt easier. But the truth is, we have to create that state. I know that my life, while great, isn’t where I want it to be, but the hardest part is truly changing on the inside.
And sometimes we subconsciously know but it’s just not clicking and we need a gentle person to spell it out to us, like when I read Atomic Habits and James Clear said our habits make us who we are - and by that rule we are choosing who are daily - now it’s common sense right, but was a ‘woah’ moment for me. Sometimes ‘knowing’ isn’t black or white 😊 - really enjoyed the video and the gentleness of your spirit x

I felt the same way when I lost my sister. She was so full of life and had so many plans. It made me feel like I didn’t deserve to have fun and enjoy myself. It made the things I once enjoyed seem trivial. I was even upset that her favorite singer (who was close to her age) was able to continue her life and my sister wasn’t. It will take a long time, but eventually you will be able to continue your life and function the way you did before while carrying this grief. It will get easier. She is in a better place and she is watching you! Make her proud! ❤
I lost my mom almost a year and a half ago, so I can relate. It's so hard, and life will never be the same again. I still have moments where I break down because I miss her so much, but I know that she would want me to continue on with my life , and continue to succeed, and accomplish my goals, so that's what I'm doing. And I know that her memory will always live on through me, and your mom will continue to live through you. Keep staying strong ❤

This is me literally. For 4 years I have been procrastinating. Now I don't like myself at all and have such a low self esteem. When I look back at my middle school days how I used to be so confident... I feel so bad. Knowing that i have done this to myself I can't stop overthinking. I am scared with my current habits whether I will be able to change or not. From someone whom everyone used to look up to to what I am now ... Every few months I plan but never do shit. I am stuck 4 years behind everyone and now I am even jealous seeing others do well. I feel pathetic.
I am tired. I am almost 30, and feels like a loser often. I've always tried to change something about myself but I ended up going back to old ways. This time I will make it right. I will update you after 90 days. I will. Thank you for saving my perspective about life.

I stopped drinking over 6 weeks ago and started going to the gym and I'm already feeling improved. I can see my future and it's better without booze and I'm much happier and healthier 🖤

I stopped alcohol too and hit the workouts! It’s been 3 weeks. I will tell you what a vast improvement it has been. I’ve gotten my water intake up to almost a gallon. drinking water is a habit and a daily system that alcohol doesn’t even compute to me anymore! Congrats
I usually dont do this, but i want to hold myself accountable (with your guy’s help too) and see really how much i can and will do in these 90 days. Todays date is August 4, 2024 which means ill finish on November 2, 2024. I CANNOT believe the year is almost over and i want to do as much as i can to set myself up with a strong mental foundation for next year, and my future in general.

I’m 18 and have a part time job but have no clue about what I want to do in terms of my future job or college career. I am not confident about my appearance. I don’t feel good about myself and it absolutely sucks because I put myself down and look at others who are successful, good-looking, happy. I want to be like that too. I am watching this on 9/24/24. I'm almost 27 and I'll tell you what I'd like to know at 18... There is no "right" job, there are the things you like and you're good at... choose one, start working with it and if you decide to change, do it... but don't keep looking for the perfect one, there is no perfect job for nobody... for example I want to work with lots of things, but i will do one by one and who knows I end up working with multiple things? but we need to start with anything first...

My deadline is December 11th, 2024. My goal is to have a healthier life in general, get more sleep, etc. (I get sick super super often.) I can't promise I will follow through, but hopefully, with guidance, I will be able to pull through.
The thing you said about the past self really changed my thinking. I used to say “I can’t do that, it’s not like me to be talkative” but that was my old self that wasn’t talkative

That bit about finding out what’s blocking my progress is important, and that usually it’s our past selves hit me so hard. I think it’s an effective way to reframe the situation. Last night, I wrote ME vs ME in my journal and it’s the same as OLD SELF vs PRESENT and FUTURE SELF.
I'm watching and listening. I'm writing down notes & making a wish board. I have a treadmill and getting back in shape! I eat pretty healthy. I want to start my artwork again too. Let's do this! ❤
Artwork is exactly the thing I want to get back to as well. I have tried in the past and when the end result didn't live up to my expectations I would quit. I will work on changing that mindset. Ultimately I feel that I need to bring fun back into my life. I'm 63 and the days are passing me by. I had already started working on the health and fitness but recently stumbled. I will get back up and start now!!!
I think the point that stuck out to me the most was forget about your past self. It’s so hard to do this. It’s something that I personally really struggle with. The person whom I want to be lives so vividly in my mind; She feels close and in reach. However, each and every time I begin on my path to find her, I’m shackled by my past self. Learning to forego my past version is something I strive for, and I needed to hear someone say that. Thank you ❤

Spite works for me, it is a great motivator for me. I can enjoy it more, bc I get what I want & ppl that have done me wrong, get to see me enjoy it .. which I love
Atomic Habits is on TH-cam the audio book. It’s not about goals, it’s about creating new habits and systems. Follow the 1% rule. If you are fortunate to have health insurance, get a therapist, one that your are comfortable with and work on the root of it as well. Everyone sets goals fail them and just quit. create a daily habit and system.
Coincidentally, before I scrolled the comments in preparation to watch this video, I pulled my copy of Atomic Habits off of the book pile on my desk knowing that setting goals are useless without establishing habits.

I’m changing constantly and focused on removing habits I see that need to be dropped and possessions to de clutter and don’t purchase things that don’t belong for my future goals. Live without want and limit your needs so as you’re happy with less. Time management, and saying no to everything so as to live longer and healthier. Hi, thanks for the video, it's amazing. One thing I realized and currently am struggling with is that I always promise myself to start changing my life, bettering myself, but never keep the promises, I set goals and have a somewhat clear plan on how to achieve them but never actually start taking action, that's why I liked the point you made in the beginning of the video that you need to start now and not tomorrow. I believe that one can actually change their life in 90 days even if not completely.
I'm at that point in life where I feel I need to professionally more competent, physically more fit, mentally more sharp and mature and emotionally more confident and stable. For this I'm taking a 90 day transformation starting from now. I'm going to build discipline and systems for achieving my goals. Will be back on 25th September to comment what I have become.

Keep in mind that achieving an ideally healthy body need not include going to the gym three or four times a week, which takes a LOT of time and money. If it helps you and you can achieve it, fine, but there are other ways to get strong without the gym. Here are a few: walking/running; yoga; calisthenics; weight lifting; hiking, skipping; etc... Thanks for this inspirational and encouraging video. :)

I’ve been working out at the gym every other day, even though I am injured with plantar fasciitis. I’ve been trying to find every remedy in the book. I love the idea of making one decisions in my love life a week without asking someone for help…I’m just not sure how that eliminates self doubt…? I want to have a hobby that is so engulfing in the evenings that someone really has to add value to get me out of the house.
I do this in a waywith habit stacking. I think of 1 thing i want to change and do it until its a habit. Through this i have quit mcdonalds, energy drinks, and am quitting smoking. Have added reading, walking and hobbies back into my daily life and started doing a 5 task a day to do list. I also cut out social media on my phone and cut down on tv to be 1-2 days a week. Im going to take on writing where i am and where iwant to be.
Leaving this comment to hold myself accountable. I will leave a comment with brief updates every day. Right now, I'm a graduate student and I'm studying something I really like. However, I'm stressed all the time, my diet is not good at all. I bought some healthy groceries this week, and I have a meal prep planned for a chicken burrito bowl with loads of protein and veggies! I also have a delicious breakfast of avocado toast with eggs and smoked salmon plus a side salad with chopped tomatoes and pesto. I want to eat real food. I want to feel good and look good. I want to lose about 20-30 pounds and lean out. I want to feel confident in my body. I want to grow out my hair too. I think it all starts with my stress levels. My hair has not grown past shoulder length since I began college. And this is not because I've had regular hair cuts or anything like that. I truly believe it is due to stress. I want to start working out again. I felt so incredible doing it regularly. Another goal is to improve my mental health and self confidence. I want to feel good about myself. I want to stop comparing myself to others. I want to trust my own path. I want to be able to do what is best for me without overthinking. I want to be better at handling failures. I want to be able to prioritize my mental health and work on my trauma.
I´ll be back in 90 days. I really need a change right now so I´m really determined now to finally stop waiting for motivation and starting today, thank you so much for this video!
I love the 12 week year so much. After reading that I read The Miracle Morning and that has been incredible in my life. It’s been 4 months and I’ve changed so much that my brain is still catching up and often does not recognize this ‘new’ person. My actions are so second nature and so different to what they used to be that it’s like I’m living in someone else’s body and mind. 1. Do A Life Audit - Evaluate life intentionality - Evaluate where you are currently, how you spend your time, what does your day look like, where you are in all area of life, and use the wheel of life. 2. What your ideal life is like - Where you are currently and where you want to be. What is working for you and what isn't. 3. Bridge the gap between the current and the actual. Prioritize the biggest impact changes (Pick 2-3 things to focus on what actually matters). Rely on consistency. Consistent action turns dreams into reality.
I do believe that motivation still important as motivation gives you that energy and joy to do your goals. I think it's also important to find ways to get your motivation back as I do believe that motivation is not there always. It's OK to have a break but not for too long. Without motivation I don't think you'll find joy of doing stuff which leads bad results.
I will be 30 this October , my life has been horrible most of it ,only thing that has me going is my 2 year old. I walked away from an abusive marriage unfortunately I am being made out to be the villain. My family members have diatanced themselves 💔. i really want to turn my life around i know i can but the only thing holding me back are finances. I know i will find my helper one day , when? i dont know

I stopped drinking over 6 weeks ago and started going to the gym and I'm already feeling improved. I can see my future and it's better without booze and I'm much happier and healthier 🖤
When it gets hard, I heard soda (can be sugar-free) can help, or plenty of (lemon) water x

I stopped alcohol too and hit the workouts! It’s been 3 weeks. I will tell you what a vast improvement it has been. I’ve gotten my water intake up to almost a gallon. drinking water is a habit and a daily system that alcohol doesn’t even compute to me anymore! Congrats

I’m 18 and have a part time job but have no clue about what I want to do in terms of my future job or college career. I am not confident about my appearance. I don’t feel good about myself and it absolutely sucks because I put myself down and look at others who are successful, good-looking, happy. I want to be like that too. I am watching this on 9/24/24. This was amazing and right on time for me. I’m starting today and I’m setting a reminder to come back in 90 days for an update.
I need to stop procrastinating. Stop negative thoughts as soon as they come up. I need to be productive. I need to build a new mindset and take proactive action!
My deadline is December 11th, 2024. My goal is to have a healthier life in general, get more sleep, etc. (I get sick super super often.) I can't promise I will follow through, but hopefully, with guidance, I will be able to pull through.

That bit about finding out what’s blocking my progress is important, and that usually it’s our past selves hit me so hard. I think it’s an effective way to reframe the situation. Last night, I wrote ME vs ME in my journal and it’s the same as OLD SELF vs PRESENT and FUTURE SELF.

Artwork is exactly the thing I want to get back to as well. I have tried in the past and when the end result didn't live up to my expectations I would quit. I will work on changing that mindset. Ultimately I feel that I need to bring fun back into my life. I'm 63 and the days are passing me by. I had already started working on the health and fitness but recently stumbled. I will get back up and start now!!!

It’s so hard to do this. It’s something that I personally really struggle with. The person whom I want to be lives so vividly in my mind; She feels close and in reach. However, each and every time I begin on my path to find her, I’m shackled by my past self. Learning to forego my past version is something I strive for, and I needed to hear someone say that. Atomic Habits is on TH-cam the audio book. It’s not about goals, it’s about creating new habits and systems. Follow the 1% rule. If you are fortunate to have health insurance, get a therapist, one that your are comfortable with and work on the root of it as well. Everyone sets goals fail them and just quit. create a daily habit and system.
Coincidentally, before I scrolled the comments in preparation to watch this video, I pulled my copy of Atomic Habits off of the book pile on my desk knowing that setting goals are useless without establishing habits.
I would suggest that people NOT get a therapist. That's nothing but a way to stay stuck and spend a crap ton of money. Ask me how I know.

I’m changing constantly and focused on removing habits I see that need to be dropped and possessions to de clutter and don’t purchase things that don’t belong for my future goals. Live without want and limit your needs so as you’re happy with less. Time management, and saying no to everything so as to live longer and healthier. One thing I realized and currently am struggling with is that I always promise myself to start changing my life, bettering myself, but never keep the promises, I set goals and have a somewhat clear plan on how to achieve them but never actually start taking action, that's why I liked the point you made in the beginning of the video that you need to start now and not tomorrow. I believe that one can actually change their life in 90 days even if not completely.

I'm at that point in life where I feel I need to professionally more competent, physically more fit, mentally more sharp and mature and emotionally more confident and stable. For this I'm taking a 90 day transformation starting from now. I'm going to build discipline and systems for achieving my goals. Will be back on 25th September to comment what I have become.

Keep in mind that achieving an ideally healthy body need not include going to the gym three or four times a week, which takes a LOT of time and money. If it helps you and you can achieve it, fine, but there are other ways to get strong without the gym. Here are a few: walking/running; yoga; calisthenics; weight lifting; hiking, skipping; etc... Hey! I spent my entire afternoon on this video, watching and pausing while writing my wheel of life and listening to the different sections of it. I am aware of my potential as well as I am aware that these last few months I lost the way of who I used to be, with good habits, mindset, that I would really like to get back and I feel it will be a little easier considering that at one time I had them, also I consider not only getting them back but also continuing to grow as a person and acquire more good habits and ways of living.

I do this in a waywith habit stacking. I think of 1 thing i want to change and do it until its a habit. Through this i have quit mcdonalds, energy drinks, and am quitting smoking. Have added reading, walking and hobbies back into my daily life and started doing a 5 task a day to do list. I also cut out social media on my phone and cut down on tv to be 1-2 days a week. Im going to take on writing where i am and where iwant to be.

Right now, I'm a graduate student and I'm studying something I really like. However, I'm stressed all the time, my diet is not good at all. I bought some healthy groceries this week, and I have a meal prep planned for a chicken burrito bowl with loads of protein and veggies! I also have a delicious breakfast of avocado toast with eggs and smoked salmon plus a side salad with chopped tomatoes and pesto. I want to eat real food. I want to feel good and look good. I want to lose about 20-30 pounds and lean out. I want to feel confident in my body.
I want to grow out my hair too. I think it all starts with my stress levels. My hair has not grown past shoulder length since I began college. And this is not because I've had regular hair cuts or anything like that. I truly believe it is due to stress.
I want to start working out again. I felt so incredible doing it regularly.
Another goal is to improve my mental health and self confidence. I want to feel good about myself. I want to stop comparing myself to others. I want to trust my own path. I want to be able to do what is best for me without overthinking. I want to be better at handling failures. I want to be able to prioritize my mental health and work on my trauma.

I love the 12 week year so much. After reading that I read The Miracle Morning and that has been incredible in my life. It’s been 4 months and I’ve changed so much that my brain is still catching up and often does not recognize this ‘new’ person. My actions are so second nature and so different to what they used to be that it’s like I’m living in someone else’s body and mind. 1. Do A Life Audit - Evaluate life intentionality - Evaluate where you are currently, how you spend your time, what does your day look like, where you are in all area of life, and use the wheel of life.
2. What your ideal life is like - Where you are currently and where you want to be. What is working for you and what isn't.
3. Bridge the gap between the current and the actual. Prioritize the biggest impact changes (Pick 2-3 things to focus on what actually matters). Rely on consistency. Consistent action turns dreams into reality.
I will sure make my life so much better from now on!!!!!
I do believe that motivation still important as motivation gives you that energy and joy to do your goals. I think it's also important to find ways to get your motivation back as I do believe that motivation is not there always. It's OK to have a break but not for too long. Without motivation I don't think you'll find joy of doing stuff which leads bad results.
